Awesome, I’m glad that helped Karen! Thanks for following up to let me know.

It’s not so much that any one specific character was off, but that the entire file was encoded as a non-UTF-8 file. Depending on the program used to edit CSV files (e.g. Excel), you can change the formatting to UTF-8, re-save the file, then import from there.

Is there a way to remove the Find out more >> link? We dont have additional information for the event.

Yes, that can be removed using the answer in this thread.

I see you’ve marked this thread as Resolved so I will go ahead and close it, but please feel free to hit us with a new one if any other questions pop up–we’d be happy to help. 🙂

    Cheers!

    Hi Oliver,

I’m looking at the following events:

All three seem to have tickets on the front end. Are you seeing those as well? That would seem to suggest that you were able to create tickets in the event editor and that things are working as expected. Please let me know if that’s not the case and we can go from there.

    Thanks,
    Geoff

    Hi Mansoor,

I’m just chiming in here to let you know that we’ll be closing this thread so we can help you in the original thread you opened. Having two threads open on the same topic is going to cause more confusion and often leads to more questions than answers. Thanks for your understanding and we’ll see you back in the other thread to figure this out with you.

    Thanks!
    Geoff G.

    Hi Karen,

Thanks so much for sharing the file–this is super helpful!

It looks like there are special characters in the names of the events and they need to be encoded to standard UTF-8 in order to work.

I went ahead and made the conversion and that allowed all the events to import correctly. Try downloading this copy (right click and Save Link As) and giving it another go.

    Thanks!

    Hey Christopher,

    Thanks for following up!

Can you please confirm you are following all these steps:

    • You get a Green License Valid Message
    • After you get the message you are then clicking “Save Changes”
    • Then you get a “License key(s) updated.” message near the top of the page.

Also you can can always download the latest version from your account here on theeventscalendar.com and use this guide for manual updates:

Let me know if it is not working after following those steps and we can do some troubleshooting steps next.

    Hi Oliver,

I need few more information’s, Can you be online on skype with me??

I would love to, but we provide all support here in the forums. That said, I’m happy to keep this thread going with you!

Have you made the transition to Event Ticket Plus or are you still working with WooCommerce Tickets? If you’ve made the transition, are you now seeing the ticket options in the event editing screen?

If not, please try heading to Events > Settings > Tickets and making sure the option to enable tickets for events is selected (screenshot).

    Thanks!

    Hello @calendarofantiques,

Thanks for chiming in! If the CSS plugin is not working for you, then you might need to add that snippet to your theme’s stylesheet instead.

If you’re still having troubles adding custom styles, please feel free to open a new thread and we can help you there directly. 🙂

    Thanks!

    Hi Dan,

Good question. It’s possible to override the calendar’s template files in your theme (or child theme). That will allow you to make changes to the layout without needing to worry about them being lost on the next plugin update.

Our Themer’s Guide walks through this in much more detail, but it basically boils down to this:

    • Make a copy of the modules/bar.php file
    • Make a new folder in your them called tribe-events
    • Make a new folder in that one called modules
    • Drop the copied bar.php file in that last folder

Now that the template is in your theme, it can be modified to suit your needs. In this case, go ahead and remove the comments and spacing and those changes should take effect.

Does this help you get started? Please let me know. 🙂

    Cheers!

    Hi Christopher,

So sorry for the error message! That often pops up if our site is experiencing downtime for any reason. Everything seems to be up and running now, so will you please give it another go and let me know if it continues?

Let’s start there and then move on to the other question you had about setting up tickets.

    Thanks!

    Hey Jeremy,

So sorry for the trouble here! Let’s see if we can pinpoint the issue together.

First off, server 500 errors are often an issue on the server itself and, in many cases, related to not enough memory being allocate to PHP. This is a good article with a few different methods for increasing the memory and I’d suggest giving those a try for sure.

It is very possible that the host will not allow you to increase the memory manually. So, if those methods do not work, I would suggest reaching out directly to the host and request additional memory as a next step.

Let’s start there and see what we find.

    Thanks!

Hi Karen and sorry for the trouble here with importing!

Are you by chance able to share a copy of the CSV file, perhaps via Dropbox or some other file-sharing service? I’d like to try importing it myself and compare it to another CSV file to see if there are any inconsistencies.

    Thanks!

Sure thing, Sally! In the meantime, it would be awesome if you could add your vote for the feature request — it looks like a great idea but definitely does need some extra votes in there.

I’ll go ahead and close this thread but please do feel free to open another one if any other questions pop up and we’d be happy to help.

    Cheers.
