MemberHi Stephanie,
Ah, yes, that totally explains it!
It looks like the content in Eventbrite has additional HTML that is being imported along with the content and that is what is creating the extra spaces.
Is this the plugin you are using?
If so, you may want to reach out directly to that plugin author to see if there is a way to not import the HTML with the content. It’s possible that the plugin author will not be able to do anything about it but it’s certainly worth asking.

MemberHi Antonio,
Thanks for getting in touch! While I’m not totally fluent in Spanish, I ran your question through Google Translate and it gave me a good idea of what you’re asking:
Hello, I am trying before buying and I see that it is not possible to put events with a certain schedule and that last several days?
It sounds like you are looking for recurring events, which is a feature that is included in our Events Calendar PRO add-0on. You can read more about it works here:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-recurring-events/
That will allow you to create one event and repeat it daily over several days.
Does that make sense and will it work for you? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHey David,
Great questions! However, I am afraid that Community Events does not have a setting or built-in support for displaying recurring events as a single event or for re-sorting the list of events in reverse-chronological order.
Sorry for the bad news, but does this at least help answer your question? Please let me know.
Thanks,
GeoffGeoff
MemberHi BR,
Great question. It sounds like you are looking for something closer to a booking/appointment calendar than an event calendar. I’m afraid that our plugins do not have the capabilities to allow someone to reserve an appointment or book a time slot.
I think something like this would be closer to what you’re looking for:

MemberHey Matt,
Here is a link to the plugin that Ken provided. I haven’t tested it personally so please be sure to use it in a safe development environment before trying it on your live site.

MemberHey @rivermile,
Thanks for reaching out!
Yeah, the QR code is actually an image and some email clients have a tendency of blocking images by default. This is something the recipient can resolve by changing the preferences in their email application to accept images by default or those in email from specific senders.
We are planning to include an option to attach tickets to emails as a PDF. I’m not exactly sure where that is in the roadmap, but I see that the feature request has been marked as planned.
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHi @richard,
Thanks for getting in touch!
Each person who is registered on your site and has published events can get a list of those events by being logged in and visiting: [your-site]/events/community/list
If you want to have a link to all events that a person has published that you can share with others, then the person who published the event will also need to be listed as the Organizer of those events. Then, you can link to: [your-site]/events/organizer/[organizer-slug]
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHi @rachel,
Absolutely, that’s totally possible! I would suggest overriding the [template-name.php] template to make that happen. You can learn more about overriding calendar templates in our Themer’s Guide, but it basically boils down to this:
- Make a copy of the single-event.php template. It is located at /wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/src/views/single-event.php
- Make a new folder in your theme called tribe-events
- Drop your copied single-event.php file in that folder
Now that the template is in your theme, you can modify it to suit your needs. In this case, remove the cost field, which is this code (Lines 38-40):
<?php if ( tribe_get_cost() ) : ?> <span class="tribe-events-cost"><?php echo tribe_get_cost( null, true ) ?></span> <?php endif; ?>Will this work for you? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHi Joe,
Oh gosh, sorry to cause false alarm about the idea — I really do think that’s a neat idea and worth exploring. I was not using “interesting” in any other way but a compliment.
I don’t think there is a specific Community Events function to hook into, but you can see all of the available functions here:
https://theeventscalendar.com/plugin/the-events-calendar-community-events/
The form is essentially recycling post publishing actions, so you should be able to hook into normal WordPress post actions while writing your filter to target the front end view. That’s just a hunch though.
Cheers!

MemberHi Deborah,
Sorry for the continued confusion here — hopefully I can help clarify things a little better.
How else would a visitor register for any of the EVENTS promoted through your plugin unless you could add a button or a link to another page or service to buy and appointment or ticket?
Neither The Events Calendar nor Events Calendar PRO offer visitor registration as a feature.
If you had registration before and it was linking to the Contact Form 7 form page you referred to earlier, then that link must have been something that you are another person with access to your site
I don’t remember how it worked before but there must have been someway to announce the event and provide a link to register for it.
That’s exactly what I’m referring to: you can make any text in the event post a link and have it point to the Contact Form 7 page: http://norcalhypno.com/hypnobirthing-class-enrollment/
For example, if you link the text Register Now! to that page directly in the event description and that could be your registration link.
Then I tried adding ANY hyperlinks to ANY of the text on this page to construct a modest link to the registration page for this event. I couldn’t get ANY link to display on the public side of the site (on any browser).
That’s really odd! Are you saying that any changes you make to the event post are not showing up on the front end when they are published?
If that’s the case, are the changes being saved in WordPress and simply not showing on the front end? Or are they not being saved in the WordPress editor either?
If they’re saved in WordPress but not the front end, then that is likely either a site or browser caching thing. I realize you mentioned having cleared cache, but it’s possible the cache is being stored or controlled by something else than where you cleared it.
If the changes are not being saved in WordPress, then that sounds like a general site issue and, in that case, I would suggest doing some more troubleshooting, which I would be happy to help guide you through.
Let me know if my clarification of event registration helps at all and whether the content saving issue is in WordPress or the front end and we can go from there.
Thanks!

MemberHi Joe,
That’s an interesting idea!
Events Calendar PRO has additional fields built in and those will display on the Community Events form.
You can set up the additional fields on the Events > Settings > Additional Fields screen. Once those have been defined, they will display on the submission form by default.

MemberHi Deborah,
Thanks for following up!
A registration button would have been something that was added to the template. Our plugins do not have a registration button in the template.
That said, you can certainly add a button that links to that enrollment form to the template, or directly in the event post.
While i’m not sure what exactly was there before, I hope this clears things up a bit — at least as far the calendar template not having built in registration or buttons right out of the box.
Cheers,

MemberHi Stephanie,
Thanks for following up!
I’ve honestly never heard of extra spacing between paragraph being added like that.
In fact, when I look at the source code of the post you provided a link for, I see that each paragraph is wrapped in a div tag instead of a paragraph tag (screenshot). That seems like something the theme is doing because that is not how it works on my test site when using a default WordPress theme.
To confirm, U would suggest switching to the default WordPress Twenty Seventeen theme, creating a new event, then seeing whether the same thing happens. After that, you can revert back to your normal theme.
Another possibility is that how the event is being imported. Are you using a CSV file or some other method for importing the event? It could very well be that the source you are importing from is including those div tags. If you can send me what you imported, I’d be happy to try it on my test site to confirm that.
Let’s see where that takes us and go from there.
Thanks!
GeoffP.S. Will you please open another thread for your question about images? It will help keep us this thread focused on a single topic rather than bouncing between topics. Thanks!
