    Hello,

I import my event into Events Calendar Pro but it appears with extra spaces in the front (screen 1) while it appears very well in the backoffice (screen 2).
I would also like to be able to automatically resize the images because they are too large in the event view

    Any Ideas ?
    Thanks

    Hi Stephanie,

    Thanks for getting in touch!

I was just visiting the link you provided to your site and it appears that the spacing is no longer there (screenshot). Were you able to fix that on your own, by chance?

My hunch is that the theme’s styles are spacing things out a bit. If you’re still seeing problems with this, please link me to them and I’d be happy to take a look to confirm my hunch and see if I can recommend styling changes to fix them.

    Cheers!

The problem is solved by re-saving the event in the back office. But I would like not to have to go back on the events to fix the display because they are automatically imported and it would take too long to modify.

I would also like to be able to automatically resize the images because they are too large in the event view after import.

    Cheers,

    Thanks,

    Hi Stephanie,

    Thanks for following up!

I’ve honestly never heard of extra spacing between paragraph being added like that.

In fact, when I look at the source code of the post you provided a link for, I see that each paragraph is wrapped in a div tag instead of a paragraph tag (screenshot). That seems like something the theme is doing because that is not how it works on my test site when using a default WordPress theme.

To confirm, U would suggest switching to the default WordPress Twenty Seventeen theme, creating a new event, then seeing whether the same thing happens. After that, you can revert back to your normal theme.

Another possibility is that how the event is being imported. Are you using a CSV file or some other method for importing the event? It could very well be that the source you are importing from is including those div tags. If you can send me what you imported, I’d be happy to try it on my test site to confirm that.

Let’s see where that takes us and go from there.

    Thanks!
    Geoff

P.S. Will you please open another thread for your question about images? It will help keep us this thread focused on a single topic rather than bouncing between topics. Thanks!

    Hello Geoff,

    Thanks for your reply

I did the test with the basic WordPress theme and I still see the same spaces in the description after a new import(screen).
I import events from the eventbrite platform with the “import eventbrite events” plugin.

    Thanks for your help

    Hi Stephanie,

Ah, yes, that totally explains it!

It looks like the content in Eventbrite has additional HTML that is being imported along with the content and that is what is creating the extra spaces.

Is this the plugin you are using?

    Import Eventbrite Events

If so, you may want to reach out directly to that plugin author to see if there is a way to not import the HTML with the content. It’s possible that the plugin author will not be able to do anything about it but it’s certainly worth asking.

    Cheers,
    Geoff

My pleasure! I’ll keep this thread open in case any questions pop up that we can help answer as you reach out to the plugin author. Either way, please note that our system automatically closes threads after three weeks of inactivity — just wanted to give you a heads up in case that happens. 🙂

    Cheers!
