Deborah
ParticipantEvent page: http://norcalhypno.com/class/hypnobirthing-saturday-morning-class-series-apr2017/
We’re licensed and on v4.4.4.All that shows is the link to iCal and Google Calendar – no button to register for the class and the usual form to register (which would be this: [contact-form-7 id=”1051″ title=”HypnoBirthing® Enrollment Form”] but all of it has vanished).
Please advise.

MemberHi Deborah,
Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to the forums! Sorry to hear about the trouble with content missing form the event post, but I’m happy to look into it with you to see what’s up.
First, what button were you using for a registration link? I can see you are using Contact Form 7 for the embedded form based on the shortcode you provided, so that helps.
Secondly, did you add the button and the form directly in the event post content? If so, do you still see them in the content editor and they are simply not showing up on the post? Or are they no longer there and you need to add them back to the content editor?
Let’s start with that and see what we find. That will help us dig into this a little more.
Thanks,

ParticipantGeoff, it’s my recollection that the event page itself USED to have a “Register” button as part of the template. The only buttons now appearing are the ones for Google Calendar and iCal. the “Register” button that I thought was part of the Event template would link to this hidden page with the Contact Form 7 shortcode on it:
http://norcalhypno.com/hypnobirthing-class-enrollment/Does the Event page NOT have a built-in REGISTER button? I don’t see any shortcode that we used the theme’s own button shortcode.
Thanks!

MemberHi Deborah,
Thanks for following up!
A registration button would have been something that was added to the template. Our plugins do not have a registration button in the template.
That said, you can certainly add a button that links to that enrollment form to the template, or directly in the event post.
While i’m not sure what exactly was there before, I hope this clears things up a bit — at least as far the calendar template not having built in registration or buttons right out of the box.
Cheers,

ParticipantHonestly, Geoff, I don’t remember how it worked before but there must have been someway to announce the event and provide a link to register for it. Now there’s nothing. Further, I attempted to add a button to the page, and the shortcode won’t even produce the button on the front end.
I tried this with and w/o Avada theme, and with and w/o the Fusion Builder plugin among all the others. Then I tried adding ANY hyperlinks to ANY of the text on this page to construct a modest link to the registration page for this event. I couldn’t get ANY link to display on the public side of the site (on any browser). This was after clearing all cache.
How else would a visitor register for any of the EVENTS promoted through your plugin unless you could add a button or a link to another page or service to buy and appointment or ticket? Definitely still confused.

MemberHi Deborah,
Sorry for the continued confusion here — hopefully I can help clarify things a little better.
How else would a visitor register for any of the EVENTS promoted through your plugin unless you could add a button or a link to another page or service to buy and appointment or ticket?
Neither The Events Calendar nor Events Calendar PRO offer visitor registration as a feature.
If you had registration before and it was linking to the Contact Form 7 form page you referred to earlier, then that link must have been something that you are another person with access to your site
I don’t remember how it worked before but there must have been someway to announce the event and provide a link to register for it.
That’s exactly what I’m referring to: you can make any text in the event post a link and have it point to the Contact Form 7 page: http://norcalhypno.com/hypnobirthing-class-enrollment/
For example, if you link the text Register Now! to that page directly in the event description and that could be your registration link.
Then I tried adding ANY hyperlinks to ANY of the text on this page to construct a modest link to the registration page for this event. I couldn’t get ANY link to display on the public side of the site (on any browser).
That’s really odd! Are you saying that any changes you make to the event post are not showing up on the front end when they are published?
If that’s the case, are the changes being saved in WordPress and simply not showing on the front end? Or are they not being saved in the WordPress editor either?
If they’re saved in WordPress but not the front end, then that is likely either a site or browser caching thing. I realize you mentioned having cleared cache, but it’s possible the cache is being stored or controlled by something else than where you cleared it.
If the changes are not being saved in WordPress, then that sounds like a general site issue and, in that case, I would suggest doing some more troubleshooting, which I would be happy to help guide you through.
Let me know if my clarification of event registration helps at all and whether the content saving issue is in WordPress or the front end and we can go from there.
Thanks!
