ParticipantHi, didac. Thanks for taking the time to explaining your situation to me.
The calendar that you reference in your website’s sidebar is not part of our plugin. Based on the naming of that sidebar element, I’m guessing that it’s part of WP Calendar: http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-calendar/
It sounds like the first step would be for you to install the free version of The Events Calendar (http://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar/) and then, download and install Events Calendar PRO from your account’s downloads page on our site (https://theeventscalendar.com/downloads/).
Be sure to check out our new user primer for a step-by-step guide: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-pro-new-user-primer/. Once you’ve got our calendar installed and configured, we’re happy to help with any further questions you have.
Thanks! π

ParticipantGood morning, Sam. Thanks for trying to find the info.
Actually this is a new feature in 3.1, and it should be at the bottom of that page you sent the screenshot of. Looking at your site, it seems that you’re running an older version of the Events Calendar PRO.Would you mind upgrading to 3.1 and then seeing if the System Information box is there? If so, it would be great if you could copy and paste it into this thread.
Thanks! π

ParticipantHi, Sam. Thanks for the quick reply!
Actually, the System Information is a detailed specification of what’s running on your site for our troubleshooting purposes. To find it, click on “Events” in the left sidebar of the Admin interface. In the subheadings under “Events”, you should now see “Help”. Click on that, and scroll to the bottom of the page that is takes you to. There, you’ll see a box with a black background. Please copy all of the text there using ctrl-a (Windows) or cmd-a (Mac), and paste it in a reply to this thread.
Thank you!

ParticipantHi, chapelboro. This is a great question! π
I notice that you’re running a caching plugin on your site. Our users often report issues stemming from stale caches.
Have you tried going through the recommended troubleshooting steps of changing to a default WP theme like Twenty Twelve and disabling all other plugins? If so, did you see any change to the behavior?
Also, it would be very helpful if you would reply with the system information from the Help tab of the Events Calendar Settings page.
Thanks! π

ParticipantHi, Jonathan. Thanks for the credentials. I’ll pass them along!

ParticipantHi, didac. This is a great question. π
The upgrade from Version 2.x to Verison 3.x is not a small undertaking. Much of our codebase has changed, so it may change the way that the Events Calendar interacts with your site.
I apologize, but I am not able to see the specific behavior you are referencing. If you mean that the static front page of your site is currently being overridden, please check out this snippet for a temporary fix: https://theeventscalendar.com/fix-for-static-front-page-being-overridden-when-including-events-in-main-blog-loop/
Otherwise, it would be helpful if you could include a link to the page on your site where the behavior is occurring and/or a screenshot. It would also be great if you could include a copy of the System Information found on the Help tab of the Events Calendar Settings page.

ParticipantHi, solddigital. This is a great question! π
We do know of a conflict between Advanced Posts Manager and our plugin (because our plugin comes with an instance of it bundled inside). Is it possible that this is the case for you?
If not, it would be super helpful if you could post your System Information from the Help tab on the Events Calendar Settings screen.
Thanks!

ParticipantHi, Patrick. That’s a great question! π
Would it be possible for you to use one of our widgets for this purpose? That might the the simplest way to achieve the look you describe.

ParticipantThanks for the excellent response, Tamara! π
apapenfuss, this is a great question. π I apologize that you’ve found a tutorial that’s referencing an older version of the plugin. We really appreciate you bringing that to our attention.
Please let us know if Tamara’s solution worked for you. If not, we’ll do our best to get you sorted out.
Thanks!

ParticipantHi, Jack. That’s a great question! π
Unfortunately, I don’t have any firsthand knowledge of how Artist as Citizen set up their theme. I would guess that they would be able to put you in touch with someone who would know if you contact them through their website.
If you’re interested in color coding your events by category, I highly recommend Andy Fragen’s excellent The Events Calendar Category Colors Plugin: http://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar-category-colors/
Also, we’re in the process of running a contest for Theme Developers that should result in many more options for calendar look-and-feel. That should be wrapped up by year’s end.
Is there anything else I can help you with?
Kelly
ParticipantHi, Nicholas. Thank you for your candid response. We really do value your feedback.
First, let me assure you that we would really hate to lose you as a customer and will do everything in our power to keep you happy. Unfortunately, if your schedule is too aggressive for our timetable and development process, you may have no other choice but to find another solution.
If there’s anything else that we can help you with, please don’t hesitate to ask! π

ParticipantHi, David. That’s a great question! π
I’ve never seen that behavior before, so it would be very helpful if you would send me a link to a page on your site where I could see it in action. Is it possible that you only added the AddAction and not the RemoveAction?
Also, did you try changing the theme to Twenty Twelve and adding the snippet to the functions.php there?
Thanks! π
