ParticipantExcellent question, kdc!
This is a great idea. 🙂 We haven’t had any requests that I’m aware of for this integration, so it’s not currently baked into our plugin.
If there is call from the community for this, we’d be eager to know about it, and to that end, we’d be grateful if you would suggest it on our UserVoice forum. Ultimately, if you need it in the near term, this would be something that would take getting your hands dirty with our docs and resources or looking to a third-party dev for assistance.
Best of luck! 🙂

ParticipantHi, fermacconsulting. That’s fantastic news. Out of curiosity, which plugin did you end up using?
Kelly
ParticipantHi, Grégoire. Happy new year to you as well! 🙂
First, a quick clarification question: Is this something related to a calendar event? Are you looking for a referral to some other service?
Thanks for being a TEC user! 🙂

ParticipantHi, jefflovell. Thanks so much for getting in touch! 🙂
We do have a list of folks who might be able to help out with some development on your project. In no particular order:
- WerkPress (http://www.werkpress.com) They prefer customization-based projects at a minimum of $500-800!
- Chris Miller (http://launchbrigade.com) They require a $125 consultation before providing an estimate!
- Nick Ciske (http://thoughtrefinery.com/) Nick’s minimum depends on type of work; for now nothing in stone. Keep in mind he used to be a dev on this team, and actually built the Community Events add-on)
- The Mighty Mo! (http://www.themightymo.com/) Their small projects are in the $500-1,000 range and go up from there.
- Tamara Zuk @ Enollo (http://enollo.com/) She charges a minimum of $75, which assumes 1.5 hours of development work.
- Donald Grover (http://groverwebdesign.com/) His minimum project amount is $1500.
- Drew Poland (http://www.iheartargyle.com/) Drew’s minimum is at least 1 hour of work @ $125
- Matthew Snider (http://www.digidogmedia.com) Matthew’s minimum is $50 for straightforward design hacks, $100 for code work/customizations.
If you need a cheaper solution, you might check out some of these listings:
- the professionals list at CodePoet http://directory.codepoet.com/browse/
- WordPress Jobs section: http://jobs.wordpress.net/
Hopefully, the above will help you find someone to work on your site. If you have any feedback on your experiences with them, we’d be eager to hear about it, too! 🙂
Good luck!

ParticipantExcellent question, mjmaltby! 🙂
I see that you tried deactivating all other plugins and reverting to a default WP theme like Twenty Twelve. Did that change the behavior at all. Typically, when we see something like this, it arises from a conflict with a theme or another plugin.
Thanks!
Kelly
ParticipantThanks, wmglennosborne! 🙂
I’ve passed it along to our dev team. As soon as I hear back, I’ll be in touch.

ParticipantWe’re very happy to help, John! 🙂 Just as you say, we quickly found it to be more of a complex issue once we paused to consider all the ramifications.
Thank you for suggesting it on UserVoice. We love it when our customers help us to understand how we can make our plugins more useful and overall more valuable to them! 🙂
By the way, if you have a minute or two, we will love it if you would write a few words for us here:
http://wordpress.org/support/view/plugin-reviews/the-events-calendar?filter=5Thanks in advance. 🙂

ParticipantHi, rhodesyman. Our devs have had a chance to check this out, so I wanted to get back to you on the status.
Here’s what I posted in the other thread:
Hi, everyone! It’s great to hear you all be so interested in helping us add value to the product for you. Thank you!Â

Using Variations in this way is certainly an intriguing proposition, and we can definitely see how it would solve the issue that you’re having. That said, the plugin unfortunately wasn’t designed with that in mind, and that is not how it works at the moment.
We’re very open to feature requests and are almost to the point in our lifecycle where we can start thinking about prioritizing them. On the other hand, please understand that implementing such a change is not a drop-of-the-hat tweak.
We have started looking into the feasibility of adding this. In the meantime, we would be very grateful if you would suggest it and vote for it on our UserVoice page. (We prioritize new features based on the response they receive there.) Rest assured, once a decision is ultimately made, you’ll be the first to know.
We really appreciate the feedback!
If you wouldn’t mind voting for the feature in UserVoice, that would definitely help ensure that it’s noticed when we go through to decide which features should be implemented first. Thanks!

ParticipantHi, citydock. That’s all great info. Thanks for letting us know that the rest of the features are working properly.
I see from your initial post that you tested by deactivating all other plugins and reverting to a default WP theme. Would you mind telling me a bit about how that went? Was the issue still occurring when you were using Twenty Twelve as your theme and only had The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO activated?
Thanks so much! 🙂
Kelly
ParticipantHi, royalwise. Great question! 🙂
That definitely shouldn’t happen if you have your Eventbrite API key in your user profile. If you give me the event ID and eventbrite URL, I can try troubleshooting on my end.
How’s the rest of your setup going? 🙂
Kelly
ParticipantHi, cecapra. Excellent question! 🙂
We’d actually recommend you address this with a template override. If you’ve never done one before, you may want to cruise over to our Themer’s Guide to get the lay of the land.
Once you’re familiar with it, the file you’re looking for is wp-content/plugins/events/views/single-event.php. Inside there, you’ll find a navigation section starting at about line 41 and again at line 72. You can simply comment out those lines in the override template in the tribe-events folder in your theme.
Feel free to play around with it and see what works best for you. Let us know if you have any issues!

ParticipantHi, d20games. Great question!
Unfortunately, it looks like you’re seeing a limitation in the Eventbrite API where it limits the length of descriptions that can be passed to it when creating events. We’ve talked to them about the possibility of changing this, but without much traction thus far.
The upshot is that it’s not possible to create an event with a long description/body in TEC and have it work in Eventbrite. If you find this frustrating (which we sure do!), it would be great if you would get in touch with their support team and let them know. They seem to respond more quickly to customer feedback than request from us. 🙂
Sorry I don’t have better news for you!

ParticipantHi, ntbacalendar. Sorry to hear you’re having issue with the slider on your site. We’re eager to get to the bottom of this with you.
First, there were several iterations of the gist that we suggested people use to fix this. I’d like to make sure you’re on the latest. Would you please confirm that this is the snippet that you’re trying (without the opening PHP tags):Â https://gist.github.com/jazbek/7442734Â Also, where did you insert it on your site?
What theme and slider are you using? Assuming that we are unfamiliar with the code for them, would you be willing to send us a copy for testing?
It would also be helpful to know if you have gone through the troubleshooting steps of deactivating all other plugins to ensure there aren’t any other conflicts going on.
Thanks!

ParticipantHi, citydock. Great question!
I see that you tried deactivating all other plugins and changing to a default WP Theme like Twenty Twelve. Did that have any effect on the behavior?
The snippet you refer to was used to alleviate an issue where the box to select either one or all instances of the event was overlaid with a grey “miasma”. If that’s not the issue you’re experiencing, it wouldn’t be applicable here.
Does the dialog asking you to select whether your change will be applied to one or all of the events ever appear?
