MemberI’m not sure I can help too much here beyond telling you that the event start and end dates are held as post meta data – but having no idea how your slider works or how you are interacting with it (and this is anyway very much in the realms of custom development) I can’t really offer much further assistance on this occasion.

MemberI can’t seem to access the URL you provided when you created this thread. Can you tell me though if it happens on all event-related pages / just the main events page / single event pages only?
I also see that you tried deactivating all other plugins and switching to a default, unmodified theme (this does for instance seem typical of the sort of issue that can be theme-specific) … did that yield any useful information here?
Barry
MemberHi Sam: just reviewing your posts above and I’m not absolutely clear if you resolved this (or at least narrowed it down to the permalink editor plugin) or still need assistance?
Barry
MemberNo problem – I hope everything else goes smoothly 🙂

MemberEvents are stored in the database rather than being held in a flat-file format, so ideally you would find them somewhere within your database backup data – if enough of it is intact.

MemberHi Jonah,
They are indeed triggered by the same hook, so one way to deal with this is to change the priorities of one or more actions.
Here’s an example where I am making the WooTickets form display before related events by changing its priority so it runs before the related events action:
You could for instance add the above snippet to your theme’s functions.php file … does that help?

MemberI’m not sure why that would cause a problem – it works for me in a default theme (albeit it isn’t needed there) as well as within the theme you sent to me … is it possible you made a mistake when copying it to your theme’s functions.php file? If you want to share it via Pastebin or a similar service please do and I’ll be happy to take a look.
If it’s not going to work for you though then you would need to customize default-template.php (please see our Themer’s Guide for an overview of this).

MemberI’m not sure who told you that, but the only shortcode I am aware of in the current release of Events Calendar PRO is:
[tribe-related-posts]I don’t believe The Events Calendar itself contains any shortcodes.

MemberHi guys,
The best idea is to create a new thread detailing your own problem as posting in an existing thread can lead to confusion, particularly if – as here – numerous different problems and installations are being referred to. So for that reason I’m going to close this thread – but please do create new ones if you need further assistance.
@queensevents you could try removing your existing license keys both on your WordPress installation and here on the tri.be Accounts > Licenses management page – then try again from your WordPress installation, re-entering them afresh. If that doesn’t help you may need to update manually by downloading new copies from our downloads page.
@Sherm: if you are referring to the settings link that is shown under Events Calendar PRO on the plugin management screen then yes, you’re right – that’s unfortunately a known bug. But you can still access the settings page from the main link found at Events > Settings. Thanks all – and, again, if you need further support please do go right ahead and create fresh threads as needed 🙂
Barry
MemberYou’re using get_posts() and it may be that The Events Calendar-specific variables such as eventDisplay are not being respected (since that is a generic WordPress function).
Can you try again with tribe_get_events()?
Barry
MemberHi Timothy – could you point me to an example of the weird title tag?
Cynthia: if you are still experiencing problems here can I ask you to create a new thread (unless you have done so already)?
Thanks!
Barry
MemberThanks for reporting this (although I can’t unfortunately help you with recommendations).
Barry
MemberThanks for reporting back, David 🙂
@zavastoronto: how are you getting on here?Barry
MemberHi! Checking the box in settings to show them in the main post loop should do just that – but it doesn’t necessarily mean they will become available to your slider, depending on how it is built and functions.
Not knowing what slider you are using (and there are many of them out there, so I’m unlikely to be familiar with it anyway) means that, unfortunately, there isn’t much I can tell you here.
Have you reached out to the author of the slider plugin (or of your theme, if that’s what it is bundled with) to ask about integrating custom post types and taxonomies?

MemberThe plugin I referred to is: The Events Calendar User CSS
So in previous versions of The Events Calendar if the events.css file was overridden then instead of building on the default styles it replaced them completely. That plugin, I believe, was designed to change the situation so that the default styles were still used and new styles did indeed build on top of those.
I don’t believe that’s necessary any more since as of 3.0 stylesheet overrides essentially function that way right off the bat. So, unless The Events Calendar User CSS has changed to do something new you probably won’t need it.
