ParticipantHello,
When i’m on the index page of my event list, i can’t change the view of the event list. The default is now set on ‘photo’ and i can only change it into ‘list’ and ‘month’ view. All the other views result in a 404 page. And when i want to go to the next page of events by clicking ‘upcoming events’ the page keeps loading.
Could you help figure this problem out for me?
Thanks in advance

MemberHi marcosnoy,
I notice you are using ‘pathinfo’ style permalinks (ie, they contain index.php) – are you able to set up and use regular pretty permalinks?

ParticipantHello, Barry, thanks for your reply.
The thing is that apparently as i found out yesterday, my host does not support regular permalinks. I used to have a problem with the 2.0.11 version of the event calendar but that could be solved by adding ‘/index.php’ in front of the custom permalink settings.
Tried this again but i didn’t solve the problem. So i found a little tutorial on the website of my host where they explained that they didn’t have a standard apache server and in order to be able to use permalinks i should make some adjustments to my advanced website settings.
I’ve added screenshots of my permalink settings and the settings that my host gave me. (Where you can see where the index.php comes from)

MemberHmm, I seem to get a 404 not found error when I follow that link.
I think, unfortunately, there may be a limit to what we can do here. My recollection is that we don’t support pathinfo style permalinks as it can lead to challenges like this and the overwhelming majority of users are unaffected.
Can you tell me what web server is in use here – is it IIS?

ParticipantThanks for your response,
I moved my website to a new host. Since i was already not pleased enough with my previous host. So now everything should be working once i have my site back online. One question though. I messed up my backup, and can’t seem to get my site back with the contents as it has been before. Could you tell me in which folder or file i can find the body text of my events?

MemberEvents are stored in the database rather than being held in a flat-file format, so ideally you would find them somewhere within your database backup data – if enough of it is intact.
