MemberHi Ben,
I can certainly pass your feedback on to the dev team (and will do so) however it could be this check exists to solve something that’s problematic for another group of users.
I’ll let you know what happens though as the issue progresses – but do bear with us as it might be a number of days before it’s assessed.
Thanks!

MemberHi wineschool!
I would bet it is, however customizations like this – though they’d be fun to work on – are unfortunately outside the scope of support that we can offer.

MemberHi jadonulrich,
Sorry for the delay in responding. I actually find that an event which has not yet finished is not marked as having passed – which seems to be what you are after.
Can you confirm that you are at the latest versions for all of our plugins and that the behaviour you are seeing isn’t affected by non-Modern Tribe plugins/your theme?
Can you also confirm if your server and WordPress date/time settings are correct?

MemberHi Jim,
Sorry for the long delay – we’ve been a bit overwhelmed in recent weeks and unfortunately a few threads like this one have slipped through the cracks.
You can definitely revert to the 2.0.11 series of plugins – see here – but it would probably be advisable to try and stick with 3.0.x and fix this as we will not offer a great deal of support for older versions going forward.
If you open up wp-config.php and change define(‘WP_DEBUG’, false); to define(‘WP_DEBUG’, true); (you can change it back after testing) do you see any messages worth noting?
Barry
MemberSounds like you’re all sorted here – I’ll go ahead and close this thread. Thanks everyone!

MemberDefinitely do add your voice to our UserVoice page for this 🙂

MemberHi freshtribe,
It seems to work for me.
I see that when you created this thread you noted that you tried deactivating other plugins. Can I confirm if – at the same time – you also switched to a default, unmodified theme?
Barry
MemberIt’s definitely a possibility – you could automatically assign events to a special “Community” category (or tag) and in fact without any further intervention you will find they are already marked as community submitted events thanks to a piece of meta data called _EventOrigin.
If you are familiar with WP_Query you could certainly query for these events using our tribe_get_events() function (which pretty much accepts the same arguments as WP_Query plus some extra ones).

MemberSorry Laura!
We are aware that the current forum software has its limitations and can be … frustrating. Right now the best way to post code is by using a service like Pastebin or Gist and dropping the link in here.

MemberHi Andreas,
Looks like you’re right. I’ll report this as a bug right away and hopefully we’ll get this fixed in one of the upcoming maintenance releases.
Thanks for your patience!
Barry
MemberHi!
Can you take a look at the solutions described here? https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/errors-on-all-event-pages/#post-56826
Either of those should fix this – and we will of course aim to get this fixed in the next maintenance release. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your patience 🙂
Barry
MemberHi cbjarvis,
Sorry about this – we’ll aim to include a definitive fix in our next maintenance release. In the interim, can you try the solution suggested here?
Thanks!
Barry
