ParticipantI’ve read through all the submit button forum posts I could find, trying various suggestions, but couldn’t get a submit button to show up.
Cleared the cache after adding code to additional tribe folder in my theme.
Also, couldn’t find gridview.php?
Would someone please give me specific step-by-step instructions on how to add a submit button?
Thanks!

MemberHi Laura,
You should be able to see the submit button for the Community Events form at the following URL (which I’ll share in a private reply in case you don’t want it to be publicly visible).
What I’m not quite clear on is what you are trying to accomplish?

MemberLast but not least, bear in mind that much has changed with the release of 3.0 and you should review the updated Themer’s Guide for an overview of this.
Also, couldn’t find gridview.php?
So many existing forum topics will discuss solutions relating to the old structure; there is for instance no longer a gridview.php template.

ParticipantHi Barry,
I thought gridview.php might not exist anymore, but didn’t have any luck looking around for another place to put the submit button code I found on other threads, except bar.php. That didn’t seem to work.I will read the Themer’s Guide. When all else fails, read the instructions, right?!
What I’m trying to do is put a Submit Button at the top of the month, and possibly other, views so people can click it and submit an event. Right now I have a link that says “Submit Event”, but a styled button would look better.
Just don’t know how to do it.

ParticipantAlso, now that I scroll down to the bottom of the Submit Event form, I see all organizers, Venues, Countries, etc. are listed. They’re not in a drop-down menu.
I’m going to delete the code I added and see if that fixes it.July 23, 2013 at 9:24 am #56546Laura
ParticipantThat fixed the form. So it’s just a question of how to add the submit button somewhere at the top of the calendar view. If I see how to do that, I should be able to figure out how to add it to one or two other views.
Thanks!July 23, 2013 at 11:00 am #56576Laura
ParticipantI’ve figured out a good solution (http://carolinaepicurean.com/events/) using pre-loaded template buttons. I did read the Themer’s Guide, got the additional folders/files set up, and added the button and text code there. It’s working great, so you can mark this thread as closed.
I do have a couple of other questions that have come up as I set up a new theme.
Thanks for your help,

ParticipantMeant to say I have a couple more questions *that I’ll post in a new thread*
Thanks!July 23, 2013 at 11:17 am #56586Barry
MemberNo problem, so if you’re all sorted regarding the submit button customization, I shall close this thread – definitely feel free to create new threads as needed, though 🙂

ParticipantAlso, having the same issue. It would be helpful if there was an easier solution for individuals trying to link the community functionality with the calendar.

MemberHi brownjm, possibly Laura would be happy to share her solution. The easiest method of linking to the submit form however is probably just to add a link to your menu.

ParticipantI’m happy to share my solutions using a text link in the html before calendar area in calendar settings, as well as the button I ended up with, but will have to wait until my host resolves their current problems. I can’t log in to wp-admin to copy code for pasting here or give you specific instructions from memory.
As soon as I can, I’ll post here.
