Ah ok, I think I misunderstood your followup.

Right now you probably would need to create a custom view or else work on customizing the existing one … I suspect customizing the current week view could be a difficult path – but that is really just an impression and may not be true for you. The only way to find out for sure is to give it a shot 🙂 .

Requests on UserVoice don’t completely hinge on votes or support from others – sorry if I gave that impression – we do consider each request on its own merits and the more I think about it the more I can see the appeal of clamping down on the time range.

OK, but did it resolve the problem you reported initially, even if it caused another issue re your sidebar? I’m basically just trying to zero in on whatever might be causing the issue so we can focus on why it is happening.

How strange, and – just to cover all the bases – you’ve also got an up-to-date copy of The Events Calendar installed and activated (I’m guessing you do, since if not you ought to see a different message, but I just want to be sure)?

Hi Andy, not sure if you posted twice by accident or can’t see my last reply (definitely let me know if you are unable to read it as we did recently have some problems with the private reply feature) – but basically please either share it via Dropbox/Droplr/similar (or by uploading it to your WordPress installation) and simply drop the link in here as a private reply.

Alternatively you can email us at pro (at) tri (dot) be – and please mark the email for my attention.

    Thanks!

Hi communitech – are you using any other plugins made by us, such as Eventbrite or WooCommerce Tickets?

Sorry, didn’t mean to be rude, by hacky I meant I was hoping to not edit code that might later get overwritten in an update

No problem at all – I figured you meant something like that 🙂

So long as you follow the correct template override procedures, which for WooCommerce are pretty similar to our own, they should not be overwritten in a future update – since the overrides will live outside of the plugin directory. If in addition to this you use a child theme (or whatever procedure your theme vendor recommends for theme customizations) then this should be perfectly safe.

Re a non-hardcoded approach to linking to the events page, can you try switching out some code in your template override as detailed here? That seems to work for me.

Hi inspyrmedia – you’re hitting up against a problem with our current forum software. I know it’s a bit of a pain, but can I ask you to share your code using Gist, Pastebin or a similar service (and just drop the link in here)?

Based on what hasn’t been stripped it’s sounding like you are close to a solution here.

    Hmm, well that is strange.

I actually don’t recall that issue from 2.0.x (Andy) but you may be right. In this specific case my bat sense is suggesting this may have resulted from a customization in functions.php even though your final steps (Cynthia) would seem to suggest all of the custom code in there is good.

Let’s leave this for the time being, unless either of you object, and if it does return we can definitely revisit it.

Thanks wwa – can I just confirm that when you deactivated all other plugins you also switched to a default, unmodified theme?

So there is a practical limit in many cases as to how long URLs can be and in this case the generated Google Calendar URL is exceeding that – primarily because the description, which is encoded into the URL, is not being shortened.

However, I can’t replicate the same thing even if I use a very long description. What I’m wondering then is if this could be a conflict with some other plugin, your theme or even a piece of custom code that’s been added to your theme functions.php file.

Are you able to run through our regular troubleshooting steps of deactivating all non-Modern Tribe plugins and switching to a default, unmodified theme to see if that helps?

If it does resolve this, are you able to identify which component (either your theme or a plugin) is causing this?

    Hi Kristin,

Thanks for getting in touch. At this time I am afraid we are unable to support integration with WPML – we do realize it is a widespread plugin and one that is important to many websites – however at this time the structure of each plugin is such that they seem not to mesh very nicely.

We do plan to work with the team behind WPML to make things smoother, though, and it may be that you can solicit help from their own support channels.

Sorry we can’t do more on this occasion.

Hi communitech, could you share the contents of your functions.php file by Gist, Pastebin or a similar service so I can see where you positioned the snippet code?

That’s unfortunately a known bug which surfaced with the very latest release – we’re working to get a maintenance release out which will address this, but until that point can you try either of the workarounds suggested in the following post?

    Errors on all event pages

Well, what you are trying to do here directly relates to that template and safely overriding it is one recommended way of making changes to it.

I’m not quite sure why that would be considered hacky – nor can I think of too many alternatives unless you do something like filter post_link once only after woocommerce_cart_is_empty fires, however I’d tend to see that as the hackier of the two approaches.

Definitely take the time to check in with WooThemes support, however, especially if you don’t feel comfortable with template overrides – since this really relates to their product (WooCommerce) and they will be best placed to advise you about customizations to their product.

    Hi Max,

Can you try either of the solutions posted here: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/errors-on-all-event-pages/#post-56826

It sounds like a known issue which we intend to fix as soon as possible with a maintenance release, but either of those workarounds should fix this for you.
