    Hi infamia,

    Thanks for posting. I think it may be related to this other issue – I can replicate the same issue you’ve described and suspect we need to do a little more work on this feature.

    Thanks for your support and patience while we look into this: realistically, there will probably be no change in the very next release with regards to this issue but we can hopefully introduce some changes after that point.

    Hi aling,

    If automated updates aren’t working please delete the license key from your WordPress site (and save the change!) then visit the Accounts → License Keys admin page over here and disconnect that same URL and any other unused URLs (if for instance you have a license to use the plugin on multiple sites).

    Then try adding the license key a second time. If that doesn’t resolve the problem you are going to have to update the plugin manually – the basic steps for this are:

    • Backup your site (please also ensure you know how to restore that backup!)
    • Optionally place your site into maintenance mode using a suitable plugin
    • Either by FTP or an online file manager (if your host provides one, perhaps through CPanel) access your WordPress site and delete the existing plugin directory from within wp-content/plugins
    • Upload the new version and unzip it if necessary so that it resides in the same place as the one you just removed
    • Check that it is still active (or reactivate if necessary)
    • If appropriate, take your site out of maintenance mode

    Hope that helps 🙂

    Hi fiveespressos,

    That particular snippet wouldn’t work for you simply because your theme has a different way of highlighting that particular class of menu links (than was the case with Sandie’s theme).

    Can you instead try adding this code to a suitable location for custom CSS if your theme makes that available?

    Thanks!

    Fantastic – and if you do have time to help with the translation that would be much appreciated 🙂

    I’ll go ahead and close this thread.

    Hi photodb,

    Can you give me the URL of a single event that definitely does have a featured image (so I can be sure I’m looking at one of the affected events) – and could you also provide a screenshot of the same event in the event editor, ideally including the featured image meta box?

    Although it’s not possible to upload images directly to the forum you can link to files hosted elsewhere (either on your own blog or on a service like Dropbox or Droplr).

    Thanks!

    OK, well thank you for your patience so far. Are you comfortable setting up custom CSS rules and a custom tribe-events/tribe-events.css stylesheet within your theme (our Themer’s Guide outlines the process)?

    If you are able to go ahead and do that and then add the following rule the issue with tooltips ought to be solved:

    .tribe-events-calendar .tribe_events.post { overflow: visible; }

    Do let me know if anything’s unclear or if you hit any stumbling blocks.

    Thanks!

    Hi adeonatour,

    It’s quite possible that the issue is with your translation plugin (Polylang in this instance). I do see that when you created this thread you noted you had tried deactivating other plugins – but I’d like to run through our complete recommended troubleshooting steps as they can be useful when trying to isolate potential conflicts:

    * Please ensure your Modern Tribe plugins are up to date and in synch … based on what you’ve already told us it does indeed sound like they are
    * Deactivate all other plugins
    * Switch to a default, unmodified theme such as Twenty Twelve
    * Does the problem persist?

    If this solves the problem, reactivate everything one-at-a-time, checking at each stage to see if the problem has returned. Though my hunch here is that the problem is with Polylang, that’s just a hunch and these steps are well worth running through.

    Your point about version consistency is definitely valid and we’ll aim to update those videos as soon as we can.

    @pdelite
    : please do feel free to monitor this thread, but if you find the steps and potentially the solution should we arrive at one for adeonatour doesn’t work for you I’d ask that you create a new thread of your own 🙂

    Thanks!

    Hi Jenny,

    No you don’t need to buy a new license every time you update. If you have changed your URL this message may have appeared or it may indeed be a hiccup on our side – please rest assured however that the operation of the plugin (with the exception of automated updates) will not be affected.

    That said, you’ll probably want to clear this up so the best steps to try and wiping the license key from your own WordPress installation (delete it and save the change) then clear it from your account here at tri.be.

    With that done you should have a “clean slate” and can try punching it in once more.

    Hope that helps, but let me know if not.

    Hi Derek, not having my own copy makes it hard to test. However I think we’re close, the devil’s in the detail. Change:

    <div id="sidebar" class="widget-area">

    To:

    <div id="sidebar" class="sidebar widget-area">

    Hi Derek, I think you just need to bring it into line more with your theme structure. If I view the blog page for instance I see that we have div.wrap, which encloses div#content-sidebar-wrap which then encloses div#content.

    With the work you’ve done so far you’re definitely making headway but we are missing div#content-sidebar-wrapdoes this version get you any closer?

    OK, well if that works for you great – do bear in mind however that we can offer only minimal support for plugins earlier than the 3.x series. For the time being though it sounds like you’re all good and I’ll close this thread.

    Thanks!

    Hi Derek,

    So if that’s what you’re currently using it does indeed seem to be basically working, albeit the formatting is a bit off.

    Note that in my example I had an opening div tag like so:

    <div id="primary" class="site-content">

    You don’t have that in your snippet, but you do have the corresponding closing tag – so your HTML is basically “unbalanced” … does that help at all?

    We have seen reports of this in relation to the Google Calendar button but not the iCal button – and visiting your main events page it seems to work for me. Can you confirm what steps / URL I would need to visit to see this problem?

    Thanks!
