Barry
MemberHi AJ, does a snippet like this one do what you need?
There certainly may be some situations it doesn’t help with and there are certainly different ways you could tackle this, but if nothing else it might give you a starting point for your own solution π
Barry
MemberHi Pau,
I can certainly submit this idea to the team and we’ll consider it – realistically though, just to help you plan accordingly, any change along these lines may be a couple of releases away (assuming it’s accepted).
Barry
MemberHi punctilio,
You should find events on the same date are broadly positioned together, albeit not in a symmetrical grid (as photo view is designed to have a masonry feel to it, which also helps to make best use of space).
What are you trying to achieve?
September 12, 2013 at 3:03 pm in reply to: Can't figure out which template to use for a single event #65682Barry
MemberHi Laura,
With regards to the first question it’s difficult to say without seeing your actual code and knowing where and at what point in the request it is running – depending on the context there can be a “limbo period” where WordPress conditional tests will work as expected but it may still be too early to use those provided by The Events Calendar.
For your second question, I can understand your confusion there and we’ll see if we can improve the guide. To provide a concrete example, an override for the single-event.php template for photo view should work if it is located at:
{your_theme}/tribe-events/photo/single-event.php
Does that help here?
Barry
MemberSorry for any confusion!
The button is generated by The Events Calendar, the data it contains may be being altered by another plugin (or your theme), however – based on what you’re saying it sounds like another plugin was indeed having some sort of impact.
but the transfer of information is not very elegant and needs to be edited! is this how itβs supposed to be?
I’m not quite sure what you mean – what are you expecting and what are you seeing?
Barry
MemberThere are quite a few customizations and extensions out there I’m sure – in terms of offering up suggestions, is there any particular part of the puzzle you’re stuck on?
Your email notifications donβt work by the way, it says Iβm subscribed to the email updates but Iβm not getting them.
Sorry to hear that, perhaps they are being filtered out by a spam or junk filter? If that’s definitely not the case do let us know and we can certainly look into it (so far as I know we haven’t seen a particular surge in people reporting this one though – not that that means there is no problem, of course).
Thanks!
Barry
Member@zacheryh: were you able to complete the same troubleshooting steps and is there in fact any commonality between the stack of plugins you are using and those David is using? Thanks!
Barry
MemberWe do actually have a few threads reporting the same thing and have this under review, however we are still waiting for more information to come in since we haven’t been able to replicate it ourselves.
I only run 6 other plugins, basic and common ones (Contact Form 7, Really Simple Captcha, NextGen Gallery, Akismet, Ultimate TinyMCE, WP Render Blogroll Links)
It’s interesting you mention this as the assigned developer does indeed suspect another plugin is causing some interference. Were you able to complete these steps and did that yield any results such as discovering that this happens only when one or more are active?
Barry
MemberHi blackswantemple – thanks for clarifying π
When I view that link it is indeed uncomfortably long, however this is basically what I see when I inspect it:
http://www.google.com/calendar/event?action=TEMPLATE&text=World+Peace+Day&dates=20130921T100000/20130921T220000&details=++++++++1+Flares++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Filament.io++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++1+Flares++++++++++++%C3%97++++%3Cimg+class%3D%22aligncenter+size-full+wp-image-1032%22+alt%3D%22P1020354%22+src%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Fblackswantemple.org%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2013%2F08%2FP10203542.jpg%22+width%3D%223240%22+height%3D%222696%22+%2F%3E%3Cspan+style%3D%22color%3A+%23c0c0c0%3B%22%3EWe+will+be+at+the+World+Beat+Cultural+Center+offering+FREE+group+Sound+Healing+Sessions+in+our+Dome+every+hour+on+the+hour%21+%3C%2Fspan%3E%3Cspan+style%3D%22color%3A+%23c0c0c0%3B%22%3EMore+details+to+come%21%3C%2Fspan%3E%E2%80%A6++++++++1+Flares++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Twitter++++++++++++++++++++++++++++0++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Facebook++++++++++++++++++++++++++++1++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Google+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++0++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Pin+It+Share++++++++++++++++++++++++++++0++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++LinkedIn++++++++++++++++++++++++++++0++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Email++++++++++++++++++++++++++++--++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++StumbleUpon++++++++++++++++++++++++++++0++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Reddit++++++++++++++++++++++++++++0++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Filament.io++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++1+Flares++++++++++++%C3%97++++&location=2100+Park+Blvd%2C+San+Diego%2C+CA%2C+92101%2C+United+States&sprop=website:http://blackswantemple.org&trp=falseSo there’s a lot of filler in there and, it seems to me, much of it is social media oriented (“++++++StumbleUpon++++++” and “+++++LinkedIn++++++” for instance) and perhaps therefore being injected by your theme or another plugin.
If you have an idea as to what the source is – perhaps a social media plugin that you installed – you could try deactivating it first of all and see if that resolves the problem. If that doesn’t help please run through our complete troubleshooting steps:
* Disable all plugins except for those by Modern Tribe
* Ensure your Modern Tribe plugins are up-to-date
* Switch to a default, unmodified theme like Twenty Twelve
* Test to see if the problem still persistsAssuming for the moment that solves this problem, please reactivate everything one-at-a-time, testing to see if it has returned: this will, hopefully, let us isolate the cause of this.
Thanks!
Barry
MemberGreat to hear! Simon – all good on your end? If we don’t hear back from you in the next week or so we’ll go ahead and close this thread. Thanks!
Barry
MemberJust to add, unless you’ve explicitly configured things otherwise our JS is largely minified already – perhaps you could work with the team behind the plugin you’re using to add exceptions?
Barry
MemberHi Mike,
Not all minifiers were created equally I’m afraid – it’s quite possible that the JS (and CSS) isn’t merely being compacted but also subtle breaking changes are being introduced, which could be at the root of this.
Essentially though if Javascript and CSS is fully functional without or before minification, then I think it’s really something you would have to take up with the author of the minifier code.
September 11, 2013 at 10:29 am in reply to: Canvas theme: Events pages also highlighting blog in main menu. #65493Barry
MemberExcellent!
Yeah you’d need the !important property in its current location – if it was added to themes/canvas/custom.css or indeed a custom tribe-events/tribe-events.css stylesheet you probably wouldn’t need that – however the main thing of course is that you’ve got a solution π
Barry
MemberHi Alicia,
We appreciate there are quite a few Thesis users out there and understand that better support for Thesis would be desirable – right now though we’re focusing on solidifying things post-3.0 release but hopefully at some future point we’ll be able to look into Thesis integration and perhaps build a set of tutorials go guide people.
In the meantime, thanks for your continued support π … since it sounds like you’re all good for the time being I’ll go ahead and close this thread.
Barry
MemberNo problem at all – are there any particular settings in place (with Jetpack) that seem to trigger this?
