Related events seems to always show the same, often unrelated, events

We’ve a site that has many events, but related events don’t seem to work as expected. For example, For an event:
http://www.culinariacookingschool.com/culinaria-class/child-and-parent-fancy-lunch-90-per-pair/
Its categories are “Child and Parent Classes, Kids and Teens, Participation”. Related events shown do not include these categories:

– Related 1: http://www.culinariacookingschool.com/culinaria-class/basic-techniques-chicken-75-per-person/ categories: Individual Topic Classes, Meat, Part/Demo, Skills and Techniques
– related 2: http://www.culinariacookingschool.com/culinaria-class/asian-fusion-night-75-per-person/ categories: Demonstration, Regional and Ethnic Cuisine
– related 3: http://www.culinariacookingschool.com/culinaria-class/cuba-an-island-of-culinary-delights-75-per-person/ categories: Part/Demo, Regional and Ethnic Cuisine

We do not use tags.

Any ideas?

Thanks for posting. I think it may be related to this other issue – I can replicate the same issue you’ve described and suspect we need to do a little more work on this feature.

Thanks for your support and patience while we look into this: realistically, there will probably be no change in the very next release with regards to this issue but we can hopefully introduce some changes after that point.
