MemberHi ntbacalendar,
Yeah I can see what you mean, that’s a shame.
It looks like you have a plugin called Weather and Weather Forecast Widget (or something along those lines) and I think that may be the culprit. Can you try confirming this by disabling it temporarily?
Thanks – do let us know if that resolves this/pinpoints the source of the conflict!

MemberThe links are present – just hidden. Try adding a small snippet of CSS like this to show them – you might add this to a custom tribe-events.css stylesheet as described in the Themer’s Guide:
Hope that helps!

MemberHi Rune, sorry to hear you are hitting difficulties on this one. Can you try adding this snippet to your theme’s functions.php file: does that help here?

MemberHi Gavin,
I don’t want to post the event URL publicly since a lot of customers on the forum are working on behalf of clients and don’t want to expose them – but I see the map on map view and also the map on the single event page for an upcoming event running Jan 20 – Jan 21 are working just fine.
Can you confirm if this is still a problem and if so provide a specific URL that illustrates the issue? Can you also confirm that in addition to deactivating all other plugins you switched at the same time to a default, unmodified theme (and if so did that have any bearing on this)?
Last but not least, please post your system information as provided at the bottom of the Events → Help admin screen in case that provides any useful insights here.
Thanks!
Barry
MemberI’m sure that’s possible but it isn’t actually a problem The Events Calendar/Events Calendar PRO was designed to solve – so you’d really need to investigate and build a custom solution for this – it’s not going to be something we can help you with.
Good luck!
Barry
MemberThere’s generally no need – just run an unlicensed copy (the only differences will be a lack of automated updates and of course we cannot offer support in relation to the unlicensed site) and that should let you evaluate things.
Does that help?

MemberHi! Can you provide a URL so we can see the problem in the context of your theme/custom template?

MemberHi Kevin,
I’d tend to agree: we do have an issue on the tracker for this (as per my note on Jan 9) however it became apparent the solution is going to be more involved than a quick fix, pretty much as you’ve noted, and so it is still awaiting further work.
That to say, we do indeed realize an amount of clean up is required here – and appreciate your feedback which highlights many of the issues nicely – however realistically it will be a release or two away before we can complete this piece of work.
Thanks for your support and patience in the meantime.

MemberHi psasser: on taking a look this morning the problem links – which I understood to be non-recurring events, including your test event – appear to be working. Has something changed / are we all good here, or is there something else I need to look at?
I’m having a similar problem.
Sorry to hear that, nicleics. If you are referring to the problem you described in this thread I think that may be something different in your case: let’s continue to progress that there. Thanks!

MemberHi Sean,
It sounds like you are making great progress – especially if you’ve come into this with limited coding knowldge – and we’d love to help further: unfortunately though we just don’t have bandwidth to do so and customization requests like this really have to be driven forward by you.
All we could really offer is a list of suitable freelancers/independent developers who might be able to take you the ‘extra mile’ on this one. Would that be of interest?

MemberHi nicleics,
I appreciate this is a frustrating situation for you: let me reiterate though that we cannot guarantee faster service than what you have been provided with. That is to say, we aim to reply within a 24hr period during the working week: my last reply to you was on Friday, so in these circumstances you shouldn’t expect another follow-up before Monday morning (that is, now).
If you cannot help with this, would there by any way I can get my money back?
We’d be sorry to lose you, but you can certainly request a refund by emailing us at pro (at) tri (dot) be – please include a copy of your purchase receipt and also link back to this thread so that the relevant team member sees the context of the request.
Can I try going back to an earlier version of events?
If you want to try this you certainly can. You can download older versions from the following locations:
- Our wordpress.org repo for older versions of the core plugin
- The download page here on tri.be for older versions of the PRO plugin
- Remember that versions must be matched! If you use v3.0 of the free, core plugin then you should also use v3.0 of the PRO plugin, for example
Again I do appreciate it’s been a frustrating experience for you and I hope ether of the above avenues will work for you, either by providing a calendar that operates in your environment or, alternatively, letting you move on an reinvest in a different product. That would naturally be our least preferred option and I hope you can instead successfully operate with a downgraded version and investigate updating again at some future point.
Thanks!
Barry
MemberGlad we got there!
To answer your second question, there have certainly been different conventions in use with different versions of the plugin and yes, if memory serves correctly, that is what we were using before the 3.0 release.
Since it sounds like we’re all sorted here I will go ahead and close this thread. Of course if there is anything else we can help with please don’t hesitate to create a new thread or threads as needed.
Barry
MemberOh I see, thanks for sharing – I wasn’t aware of that before now but it looks pretty cool.
Right now it might be easiest to override the map output using the tribe_get_embedded_map filter if you want to do something like that – but we would need to leave this in your hands! We can certainly leave it open for a spell and see if anyone else in the community can chip in with advice.

MemberHi Drew,
We’re sorry you’ve hit up against this – unfortunately there is an issue with single event pages in Twenty Fourteen, when the Default Events Template is in use. One workaround is to visit the Events → Settings → Display admin screen and switch to the Default Page Template instead.
Would that work here?
Barry
MemberHi Rochelle,
Thanks for getting in touch and sorry to hear you are having difficulties here.
The default events template can be customized (take a look at our Themer’s Guide) so one possibility could be to add some code to pull in the sidebar there – do you think that could work here? Some useful resources along those lines:
- Themer’s Guide
- Tutorials
- Technical Docs
- WordPress Codex: get_sidebar() function
- WordPress Codex: dynamic_sidebar() function
Does that help here?
I have a second comment/suggestion. Can you incorporate an calendar icon into the Events Widget like this http://www.designadvertising.net/Icon_for_Calendar.JPG
We would definitely consider it 🙂
Could you post this as a feature request over on our UserVoice page? The great thing about UserVoice – apart from making sure the right team members see the request – is that it gives other members of the community a chance to remark on the idea and show their support, in fact you might even find a suitable existing request you can add your own support to.
Hope that helps!
