MemberHi atracksler! Can you clarify what you mean by “snazzy map styling”? If it’s another plugin, I’m afraid it’s not one I have any particular knowledge of and we’d really leave it to you to integrate the two.
Barry
MemberHi atracksler:
It’s totally customizable, yes. Here’s a tutorial that covers adding featured images to month view – with a little tweak here and there (since it’s list view rather than month view that you are interested in) and combined with some knowledge of theming The Events Calendar generally it should get you on the right track.
Does that help?

MemberHi inhouse,
Great question!
Additional fields are supported for events but, currently, not for venues or organizers. That said, if you’re at home developing for the WordPress platform I don’t see why they couldn’t be added in with a small customization. Beyond that I’d suggest posting a feature request for this over on our UserVoice page.
Positioning extra fields within the meta area (where organizer and venue details etc are displayed on the single event pages) is something of an advanced customization at this time: we do have some information about this in our tutorials section that you may wish to review though: How the Meta Factory Works.
I hope that helps – and please do post a feature request (or add your support to any suitable existing request).
Thanks!

MemberHi!
So I installed Rocco and didn’t actually hit the same problem on month view. However:
- It looks like it may be using something called a polyfill script which is not clearing up after itself – for instance the event search field, when left empty, is being submitted with the word ‘Search’ inside it. I don’t know if you were also hitting up against this but if so that would seem to be a problem introduced by the theme (you won’t find the same thing with most other themes, for instance)
- It did also require me to install a number of other plugins which I deliberately didn’t do, to keep the test simple. If it is in fact necessary to install all of those to replicate this problem then I’d request as a further troubleshooting step you also try deactivating all other plugins (keep your theme active this time round) – and see if the current problem disappears – then reactivate them one by one to find whichever is conflicting
In summary, there is certainly at least one issue (unrelated to what you initially reported) with your theme – but the core issue I suspect may be due to one of the plugins your theme requires.
Does that make sense – and are you happy with the process for troubleshooting this further?
Thanks!

MemberHi again, itpromotion!
Not too sure there is much else we can offer you on this one – but I just wanted to check and see if you had any follow-up questions before closing this thread?
Thanks!

MemberNo, you shouldn’t lose any events – but it is always sensible to be cautious and make a complete backup first of all and, of course, acquaint yourself with the process for restoring that backup.
To be honest I’m not happy or confident about installing a fresh copy of WordPress in a subdirectory…..
You definitely shouldn’t feel you need to follow any of these suggestions if you don’t feel confident doing so. It sounds like you are going to try deactivating and reactivating our plugins (if I’m mistaken, just let me know) so let’s give that a go and see where it gets us.
Thanks!
Barry
MemberExcellent, thank you. I’ll take a look – though I can’t make any promises – and get back to you. Thanks!

MemberHi Suzy.
Sorry for the confusion.
The most up-to-date information about this sort of thing is in our Themer’s Guide – but the short answer is you should use a directory named tribe-events: if you can revisit my first reply and look at those examples you will see that they all use a tribe-events directory (within the Twenty Twelve theme directory, but of course your theme will be different), even if it is an Events Calendar PRO or Community Events template that is being overridden.
Is there a template we can provide specific guidance on here?
Barry
MemberOK – definitely feel free to watch this thread and see if the answer for templeton also works for you – but if you need specific help it would be better to create a new thread of your own 🙂

That’s pretty perplexing – thanks for your patience while we try to figure this out.
As this isn’t something we’ve seen widespread reports of (and cannot replicate ourselves) I wonder if we could basically try the same troubleshooting steps but ‘in reverse’. Can you create a new installation of WordPress – if it is in a similar or the same environment, perhaps in a subdirectory, that should be fine – and initially install only our plugins. See if the same issue occurs then (if it does let me know before you go ahead and add anything else so I can take a look at things under those conditions).
Is that possible here?
Thanks!
Barry
MemberI do apologize, Ryan, my replies should not have been marked private. I’m going to re-post both here.
From Jan 14 (7.00am):
Thanks for sharing!
I can see the problem, but bear with me while I talk this over with some other team members. It hinges on a few things including the changes our own plugin makes to the query and Woo’s use of query_posts() to build up the content for the slider – use of which in themes and plugins is sometimes ‘frowned upon’, as per the note in that Codex entry.
However bear with me a little longer and I’ll get back to you with a more substantive update.
From Jan 15 (1.17pm):
Hi Ryan: we’re going to try and tighten things up on our side to avoid this in the future – in the interim can you try adding this snippet to your theme’s functions.php file and see if that resolves this?
Can you try that snippet out and let me know if it helps in the short-term? Thanks!
Barry
MemberWe welcome any and all feature requests if you want to post one for this:
What I would point out though is the number of different settings we could add is almost infinite and will never cater for the needs of everyone (what about font selectors – and if we added them which fonts should they allow you to choose from? Should we allow every element we add to be styled, or just some? … etc). Large numbers of setting pages can also add a level of confusion for many users – so it can be a tricky balancing act.
That to say, please do post a feature request but understand also that there really does need to be a good reason and a notable level of interest from users across the community, which is one of the great things about UserVoice – other users can show their support for your idea 🙂
Right now I’m not sure there is much else we can offer on this one so I’ll go ahead and close the thread.
Thanks!

MemberThey are indeed styled differently, so your choices are really to style the list widget (so it looks like the list displayed with the calendar widget) or else modify the calendr widget so it no longer displays the calendar grid. The following might help:
- Themer’s Guide
- Tutorials
- Tutorial for removing the calendar grid from the calendar widget
- Technical Docs
Hope that gets you on track 🙂
Barry
MemberSure – but it does also come with quite a bit of overhead attached. At any rate and without further ado, here is a list of some folks we recommend (in no particular order):
- WerkPress (http://www.werkpress.com) – customization based projects with minimums of $500-$800
- Chris Miller (http://launchbrigade.com) – $125 consultation required before providing an estimate
- Nick Ciske (http://thoughtrefinery.com/) – minimum fee depends on project type
If you need a cheaper solution, you might check out some of these listings:
Hopefully the above will help you find someone to work on your site. Good luck … and I’ll go ahead and close this now.

(I didn’t mean to make my last reply private and as some customers have had problems reading private replies from staff members I’m going to re-post:)
The calendar is populated with your events: to see this, navigate directly to {your-url}/calendar/2014-02/ – however, when you are on the main calendar view the problem is that nothing happens when you use the forward/backward links and you are effectively only able to see the current month’s events (right now you don’t have any).
Based on what you have told me, a good guess is that a piece of Javascript enqueued by your theme is intercepting the click events and not letting them propagate.
Again, can you provide a link so we can obtain a copy of the theme?
