It sounds like our Community Events plugin might fit the bill here.

    1. Ability for a user to make an account and input their own event information, upload their own logo, photos, .pdfs, video, etc.

It has settings that allow you to restrict submissions to authenticated users but it also can be set to accept anonymous submissions. The actual generation of new accounts is something we leave to you/WordPress’s native functionality and isn’t directly supported by the plugin itself.

    2. Ability for admin to review member post to the calendar, approve content, and publish full event details.

Community Events can be set to hold submissions as drafts to facilitate just this. It’s completely flexible: you can also remove this restriction.

    3. Ability for public to suggest events and admin to “accept” or “decline” the event and send notifications to the original requestor Upon “acceptance” info should automatically be added to the site.

In a similar vein as my answer to your second question, you could effectively do this by telling Community Events to hold new submissions as drafts. Further automated communication by email is definitely possible but you might need to leverage other plugins or do a little customization to get the exact result you are after here.

If the calendar does not currently have this functionality BUT it can be added can you please provide a cost for customizing the calendar.

You would need to handle customizations yourself, in house or by contracting a suitable designer/developer to do so on your behalf. We don’t offer custom development services.

I hope that answers your questions, but let me know if there is anything else.

    Thanks!

I think you’ve found a bug here, unfortunately. I’ll get this logged and we’ll do our best to get a fix in place in an upcoming release. Thanks for reporting this 🙂

    Hi @jonwsanders,

That’s a shame: so the problem boils down to the venue import, is that correct? Would you be able to share your CSV files (or a sample of them) so we can try and figure out what the problem may have been?

That doesn’t currently happen, as Facebook would need to have a mechanism to alert the website when a change is made (or else the website would periodically need to poll Facebook and check if any of your events that had already been imported had changed – as you can appreciate, that may be burdensome within certain hosting environments and if there are a large number of events).

We’d certainly welcome and give further thought to any feature requests you might make along these lines.

    Thanks!

That is strange – I’m sorry you are having this frustrating experience.

I appreciate you have already largely conducted these troubleshooting steps, but just for clarity before we take things any further can you either repeat these steps or else confirm you performed them in these orders.

    • Deactivate all other plugins
    • Switch to a default and unmodified theme (please try Twenty Twelve if possible)
    • Visit the Settings → Permalinks admin screen (but you need change nothing/do not need to re-save)
    • Now check and see if those links behave as expected

If you are using or have previously used a caching plugin, please take especial care to ensure its effects are no longer extant (as various rules etc they put in place can persist after deactivation).

Let me know how that goes!

    Hi @vancouver604,

The importer doesn’t currently cover all possible fields – but we’d welcome any feature requests for improvements and enhancements you might make.

    Thanks!

Looks like February is populated with a healthy number of events to me (whether I go there directly or visit the current month and page forward) … can you confirm specifically what is amiss?

    Thanks!

Can you both confirm which versions you are using, and update if you are not on the latest versions? (Raiquel it looks like you are a few versions behind for instance.)

OK, thanks all: I can replicate this now and it certainly looks like a bug in our plugin (rather than an issue with EDD itself) – we’ll get this on the tracker and try to put a fix together as quickly as we can. In the meantime I can only suggest working around it by deleting the duplicate downloads when editing tickets within the EDD editor:

    edd-tickets-delete-downloadable

Obviously that’s a bit of a pain, but I hope you can get by with that as an interim measure.

Thanks again for reporting this – we’ll endeavour to update this ticket as soon as we have something further to report.

@Todd: that may be the missing part of the puzzle, thanks for sharing that (I didn’t try editing the ticket in EDD and so that might explain why I couldn’t replicate this issue).

@renegadeartglass: sorry for the delay – can you upload your .zip of the theme to Dropbox or a similar service (or just your WordPress site) and share a link from there? Thanks!

That’s a good question. Perhaps they aren’t respecting the noindex rule, which might be due to the presence of some other ‘competing’ mechansim like a sitemap? Or perhaps Google provides that information about 404s regardless of whether they actually index the pages – simply to offer useful diagnostics information to the webmaster. It’s very hard to guess … why not contact them and ask?
