MemberOK, well that gives us a better idea of what’s happening. To be clear, though, you will not be able to see the longitude/latitude fields in the venue editor: these fields are not exposed directly to users.
Can I ask you to navigate to Events → Settings → General → Map Settings and look for an entry just below map view distance unit labelled fix geolocation data: can you confirm if that is present and if hitting the button next to it resolves the issue?
Thanks!

MemberIt’s worth remembering that in the context of list view, an event will continue to be listed until it has been ended.
So for example if I visit your list view and select March 13, the first event returned is dated March 10 – however that is merely the start date and, on navigating to the single event page, I see it continues until March 15. So it is correct that this continues to be listed.
Does that clarify things at all?

MemberHi jstorm, thanks for your feedback 🙂
It doesn’t make sense that the week view doesn’t support this function and the month view does. Why would the feels only expand in the month view?
In the context of month view events are arrayed vertically within each cell of the grid, so given how web pages typically work – they ordinarily increase in length but the width is fixed – they are free to expand almost infinitely. That isn’t true in weekview, where there is a finite amount of horizontal space and increasing the width without any limits is highly likely to result in layout issues with most themes.
Sounds like someone got lazy while developing the plug-in.
I don’t think that’s fair and can assure you that a large amount of time and effort went into week view. That doesn’t guarantee it will be perfect for every use-case, of course, but the same could be said of any view. One of the reasons we provide so many different views is to let you choose the best means of presenting event data in your particular case.
I appreciate your suggestion to make a feature request, but this is more than a request, it seems absolutely necessary as there are many posts online for users dealing with the same problem. Perhaps the solution is to have YOUR developers offer modification code to make this work until you get it implemented into the future versions?
Week view is behaving just as it was designed to behave. It’s a shame it doesn’t meet your specific needs but there are other views you can use instead – and customizing things to better fit your precise requirements is also an avenue you can explore.
Let’s be clear though that we’re not going to deliver a set of modifications in the short term to meet your own specific needs – that just isn’t how we operate. If you want to propose a change or enhancement to our plugin (such as changing the existing week view or adding a new, alternative week view) then the correct course of action is to post a feature request.
At $65 a year, this is a giant over site and cost prohibitive requiring additional development cost to have modified.
I’m sorry to hear you feel that.
However, if this is going to be a real barrier to your use of the plugin that’s definitely a shame and we don’t want to “hold you hostage” – it would be far better in a case like this to refund you so you can invest in a different plugin that better meets your needs. If you’d like to take that route then please do consider contacting us (you can email us at pro [at] tri [dot] be … please do include a link to this thread and a copy of your purchase receipt).
Thanks again.

MemberHi!
Is there any chance that the ability to add custom filters through the admin will be available soon?
We may add additional filters in the future (and much will be based on what we see over on UserVoice – so please don’t hesitate to post your thoughts there) however I’m not sure how practical it would be to create a user interface to let you define your own arbitrary filters, if that’s what you mean.
Please do take the time to detail how you envision things within a feature request, though, we’re absolutely open to new ideas and the more detail the better.
Thanks!
March 11, 2014 at 7:11 am in reply to: Fatal error: Class 'Tribe_Template_Factory' not found #117299Barry
MemberSo a stack trace basically shows us the path of execution leading up to the fatal errors (ie, the application started here and progressed through this-and-that class and function until it reached here, where it died). However, we may not need to go that far:
The key line from the CiviCRM developer in this thread is: “Civi Cron job bootsraps WordPress so we can call hooks and other neat stuff”. So, Civi Cron seems to be calling in the function that is throwing a fatal error in ECP and causing the cron to fail (“Fatal error: Class ‘Tribe_Template_Factory’ not found).
I took a look at the CiviCRM site and I’m guessing it’s a standalone application (but please don’t hesitate to correct me if its actually a plugin).
The thing here is that if it’s a standalone app that wraps and bootstraps WordPress to achieve some of its goals, but this problem is not one you find occurs with WordPress alone (where cron jobs flow through wp-cron.php) then realistically it’s not something we’re going to be able to assist with.
Even if it is a regular plugin but is taking this slightly unusual approach to running cron jobs in preference to using WP’s scheduled tasks API then again I’m not sure how much assistance we’re going to be able to provide.
Does that make sense/can you confirm if that is an accurate representation of what’s happening? I’m at a slight disadvantage as I’m not at all familiar with CiviCRM.

MemberLooks like the main events page at http://sactomofo.com/calendar/ is now displaying as expected and I can navigate forwards/backwards – plus single events are accessible and look good – so it all seems to be in order so far as I can see.
Did you have any further questions/concerns regarding this issue?
Barry
MemberI’ll go ahead and close this one: if you need further help with this or anything else though please don’t hesitate to create a new thread.
Thanks!

MemberHi!
It’s been a while now so I’ll go ahead and close this thread.
Of course, if we can assist further with this or anything else please don’t hesitate to create new threads as needed.
Thanks!
Barry
MemberAs it’s been a while without an update and I couldn’t see the problem I’m going to go ahead and close this thread. Please don’t hesitate to create a new thread for this or any other problem if you need further help, however. Thanks!

MemberHi: it’s been a while without an update so I’m hoping you resolved this and will go ahead and close this thread. Of course if we can assist with anything else please don’t hesitate to create new threads as needed. Thanks!
Barry
MemberDo you mean a previous thread detailing a similar problem? With the exception of your own previous threads I haven’t seen this documented by any other users (though our search tool isn’t infallible). We do now have this on our own internal issue tracker however.
Does that answer your question?
Barry
MemberHi: we’ve reviewed this request and I wanted to let you know that, on this occasion, we will not be making any changes here.
The reasoning is that we want to mirror WordPress as closely as possible. By default, WordPress provides the import capability only for admin users and we wouldn’t want to deviate from this unless there was a really compelling reason to do so. You can certainly assign this capability to other roles or even build completely new roles locally, however, to meet any specific requirements for your own project.
Thanks again 🙂
March 10, 2014 at 4:10 pm in reply to: Have events not display after event is over and other #117119Barry
MemberThanks for sharing the link – it all looks like it’s behaving as expected to me.
…and it is still displaying events that have passed as you can see here: http://www.frugalphillymom.com/events-calendar/upcoming/?tribe-bar-date=2014-03-10
With a URL like this you are essentially requesting a list of all events beginning on 10 March 2014 – so yes, it will show events that completed earlier in the day (but started on that same date) under those conditions, apologies if that was not clear. The ‘default’ upcoming events list displays differently:
http://www.frugalphillymom.com/events-calendar/upcoming/
Note that events which started and completed earlier on today are not listed here. Does that help, or at least clarify things?
