MemberHi: thanks for your interest.
The Events Calendar/Events Calendar PRO is nothing if not customizable and adopts the WordPress methodology of making as much as reasonably possible filterable. With that in mind, you could certainly set up a filter to obfuscate email addresses (or to conditionally remove them, according to the status of the current visitor).
It would require a little WP-development know how to implement something like this, but beyond that we can probably point you in the right direction in terms of highlighting the best hook to use, etc.
I hope that answers your question – and let me know if there’s anything else!
April 17, 2014 at 9:07 am in reply to: Events Calendar import from Facebook and different time zones #135307Barry
MemberIn other words, if an event takes place at 7pm in LA, it reports the event as 10pm in WP and hence on my website. Is this a known issue? Can it please be fixed?
So that sounds like the correct and expected behaviour to me: if you are first and foremost delivering information via your site about events in LA it may be best to adjust your server and/or WordPress settings to reflect that that is effectively the timezone you are operating in.
If that’s not true though and only some events are taking place in LA and others in a different location/timezone you’re best bet is probably going to be manually modifying the imported events.
Does that clarify things?

MemberJust to clarify, the tutorial you referenced relates to the Tribe Events Bar (which does itself contain filters) rather than the Filter Bar in the sense of the specific Filter Bar plugin. Right now I don’t believe we’ve got any tutorial resources specifically covering what you seem to want to do, but we’d definitely look at producing one if you want to post a request for this 🙂
It is unfortunately a bit beyond what we can help directly with here on the forum.

MemberHi Ray,
Sorry you’re hitting difficulties here: can you point me to a specific example on your site? I’m nor sure I can locate the problem.
Thanks!

April 17, 2014 at 8:37 am in reply to: Week days only in events that span more than one week? #135271Barry
MemberIs there any way to do that??
Yes – you should simply be able to set the start and end dates accordingly, you don’t need to start it on a Monday and end it on the final Friday three weeks later – you could end the pattern the following week on Wednesday instead.
If they are separate events, then it won’t work. As we already repeat the same courses monthly and this function would be good to automate our reoccurrence, but not to et up a single event, as one event i guess?
On that level it may not work, that’s true – and you’d need to workaround it by adding extra customizations, which could be as light as working in extra explanatory text or as deep as introducing a separate means of linking sets of events together.
We’ll definitely review your feature request though (and please do edit it/add extra notes if you need to clarify any aspects like this).
Thanks!
Barry
MemberNo problem – happy to help 🙂
As a sidenote, if you have a moment (if we already asked this in a previous thread just ignore me) and want to leave a review we’d love to hear about your experiences with the plugin so far.
Thanks!
Barry
MemberOh I see, so in essence you’ve got a custom flow whereby two separate orders (in a WooCommerce sense) are placed before the order ‘as a complete entity’ can be deemed complete?
If so then, yes, I understand what you’re trying to achieve – but I’m afraid a customization of that nature is not something we can assist with.
Barry
MemberSure – perhaps you could just test for the origin (as in the first half of that conditional statement) and additionally check if it is already assigned to a category or not?
Really though this is one we’re going to have to leave to you – good luck!

MemberI still can’t access the widgets. I can see the plugin you added, and it’s activated, but the widgets are still not there.
Sorry about that, it was functional at the point where I added it (as I checked before logging out). I made a small adjustment and it is again functional.
However… this (or the code I suggested you/others could add to your theme’s functions.php file) was a temporary way of masking the problem which really stems from having so many (duplicate) events. We do now have a cleanup script available in the form of a single file plugin:
https://gist.github.com/jbrinley/10933420Update: in response to feedback from other customers we’re going to revise this code and for anyone coming across this thread, we don’t recommend using it just yet.
If you create a file in your wp-content/plugins directory called “tribe-cleanup-script.php” and then activate it from your list of plugins it should provide a button letting you clean up/merge the duplicates together. From there you can try removing the temporary fix that otherwise disables the Countdown widget.

MemberPleasure (and sorry for any confusion)!
Barry
MemberI usually do a search on your site with my username and I’m able to see all posts, but not this one.
It’s possibly a glitch with our forum tools – we’ll check into this (and sorry for any inconvenience – but thank you for bringing it to our attention) 🙂
I’m sure I’ll need further help, but let me try first.
Certainly, just let us know if you have further questions. I’ll leave this thread open for the time being.
