MemberAwesome.
Sorry about the email notifications – we did have some issues recently with our email service provider so we’ll check in on this.
Thanks again 🙂
Barry
MemberOh, that’s annoying (and it definitely isn’t a marketing ploy of ours to have you buy PRO to workaround problems! PRO depends utterly on the core plugin and we certainly want both to be as solid as possible).
Would it be possible to reply – privately if you prefer – with a link where we can download a .zip of your theme (you could upload it to your WP site first of all, or else use a service like Dropbox).
Let me know!
Barry
MemberHow odd, but yes I can see it.
Are you in a position to see if you can replicate this with a fresh chain of test events (I can’t locally, but I may be missing a step – if you were able to detail exactly what actions you took when replicating that could definitely be helpful in pinning this down).
In terms of getting that event back into action, is it possible on this occasion to try editing the permalink in the event editor – then resave and see if it works then?

MemberThanks, it was indeed nothing to do with your theme. I believe this was due to an issue with your caching plugin, though, which I temporarily disabled (and that explains – you may have noticed – why the problem was apparent as a visitor who is not logged in, but everything was fine as an authenticated user – since caching would not have been applied).
Can you confirm you find the same?
Barry
MemberOK, so:
They include events that have been submitted via Community Events
I wonder here if this is a side effect of a known bug whereby if the submissions are set to draft or pending review before being published various venue fields are inadvertently dropped. Is that the sort of workflow you’re following? If so, we’re working on this one as I write!
Beyond that, though of course that’s a bit of a block in itself, this mechanism seems to be working and for instance if submissions are set to be published immediately it all works as expected, best I can tell.
both events uploaded with the CSV Importer and added via Community Events are missing those meta_keys
I tested out importing venue data (of course, they need to be well formed addresses – or at least close to being well formed) and it worked as expected. The geodata was created and saved and it worked as expected.
So I’m not sure what’s going on, but it does seem to be specific to your site. Have you tested out these operations (submitting events via Community Events and venue imports) with all other plugins deactivated and only a default, unmodified theme in place?
Barry
MemberIt really depends on how your site is structured – if you have a deeply nested page structure that is many levels deep please do look over those pages, otherwise you ought to be good.
For anyone else coming across the thread, here is the revised plugin in .zip form (so you can upload it rather like any other plugin).
Barry
MemberHmm, puzzling. Am I right in thinking it’s a custom theme? Are you able to approach the theme author for advice here?

MemberHappy to help!
… As an aside – if you have a moment and would like to leave us a review / your thoughts on The Events Calendar so far – we’d love to hear from you 🙂
Barry
MemberDefinitely – and our apologies for the inconvenience. We’ll do our best to update the thread as soon as a fix is released.
Barry
MemberWell, perhaps it would be simpler to set up a general category, with appropriate subcategories if needed, and perhaps also a planning category. You could then link to each separately from your navigation menu. Would that work for you here?

Barry
MemberYes, for mobile issues please create a new thread. For the tooltip issue, have you looked at this post? It might be worth a try.
Let me know how you get on!

MemberNo problem – we’ll get this fixed as quickly as we can. I’ll go ahead and close this thread but if we can help with anything else please just let us know in a new one 🙂
Barry
MemberSure, sorry it’s not what you wanted to hear.
If we can answer any other questions, though, just let us know (and I’ll go ahead and close this thread).
