MemberHi: sorry you’re hitting difficulties.
It’s difficult for us to help of course if we can’t see the problem, but is it possible you’ve got a pre-existing CSS rule targeting that table / are you familiar with using your browser’s developer tools and can you track down the cause of this that way?
Perhaps you could try adding something like:
table.tribe-events-calendar { max-width: 900px !important }To a custom tribe-events.css file (see our Themer’s Guide for details of setting this up) and see if that impacts?
Barry
MemberHi!
If you visit the Events → Settings → General screen you will see an option called Recurring Event Instances – if you check this box then only the first instance should be returned.
Does that help?
Barry
MemberOK – thanks for giving that a shot.
Unfortunately I’m not sure what’s going on here and this is definitely a pretty atypical situation. Sadly I’m not sure how much more we can do to assist here – I suspect that either something was unintentionally missed in earlier troubleshooting steps or else the issue is environmental in nature.
On this occasion though we aren’t going to be able to provide much further help here – it may be worth seeking assistance from a suitable developer who can work directly on your site and/or we’d happily consider any request for a refund to help you find a plugin that might provide a better fit for your particular situation (and if you want to take us up on that, please do email us at pro [at] tri [dot] be – including a link to this thread and also a copy of your purchase receipt).

MemberI’ve deactivated most of the plugins to see if that changes anything. I can’t remove them all since it is a production site.. My last resort will be the re-install the entire site on a different server, but that is a huge task to troubleshoot this.
I definitely appreciate where you are coming from here – and by the looks of your final point you’ve anyway hit on the source of the problem (ie, it’s a conflict with your theme).
QUESTION – Is it normal that both the regular Events plugin AND Pro plugin should both be activated? I had turned off the regular plugin, which broke the site.
Absolutely. Events Calendar PRO builds on and enhances the core plugin (The Events Calendar) – so yes, both ought to be active.
QUESTION 2 – The previous license expired from another developer. I had to signup for a new license. Is it possibly broken because the license is in my account now? I am guessing not since the detail pages load.
That shouldn’t have any effect. Even if you removed your current license/it expires, the software itself will keep functioning. Setting aside access to support, the only real operational change if a valid license key is missing is that automated updates will not be available.
MIGHT HELP: My template in Display Settings is ‘Default Page Template’.. If I change this to ‘Default Events Template’ the main Events page does display. However, this is not the desired styling.. but it does work. Any idea why the Default Page Template wouldn’t pull the Events in??
Hmm, difficult to say – but that setting is partly there to help achieve the best fit possible across a wide range of themes. Perhaps you can use the Default Events Template and add some extra CSS/tweak the template as necessary to get things looking as you’d like? Our Themer’s Guide is a great starting point if you want to do this.
Does that help?
April 30, 2014 at 8:05 am in reply to: How can I hook in Gravity Forms to collect attendee info? #146497Barry
MemberHi!
I just wanted to say first of all that we definitely do realize there is some strong demand for this sort of functionality: it may (understandably!) look like we’re moving slowly on this but we want to make sure when and if we do introduce new features they are solid, meet the needs of most users and ideally work across all our ticketing solutions.
My question is about using the WC Gravity Forms extension to collect that information on a per attendee level. Wouldn’t that be fairly simple like a conditional hook that could be added into the plugin so that “if” a form has been assigned to a ticket that it’ll appear on the event page (or checkout page) for every ticket?
The mechanics are going to be pretty much what you described. If you want to gather that data on the event page itself you could simply customize the ticket form template (see our Themer’s Guide for an overview of this) and embed your custom form accordingly. If you wanted to do this on the checkout page then you would need to figure out if a given line item is an event ticket: once again this isn’t too tricky and if you review the code in this (unofficial) plugin you can see the sort of processes you would need to use.
Does that help at all?
April 30, 2014 at 7:52 am in reply to: DUPLICATE events / Events Calendar PRO 3.5.2 (hotfix) / #146483Barry
MemberHi – sorry for all the inconvenience.
There is indeed a trigger for the cleanup plugin – it does not run by itself – and that takes the form of a Merge Duplicate Recurring Events button. There’s a fuller explanation here.
Does that help/clarify things?
Barry
MemberHi – great question 🙂
Editing the attendee list directly isn’t really supported at this time – though it should update to reflect status changes (such as cancellations) or even manually created orders for events. Similarly, right now, requiring or requesting extra details per attendee isn’t facilitated.
That is definitely a popular request and one we are keen to explore – however right at this point in time it is something that would need to be taken forward as a customization.
Does that clarify things?
Barry
MemberHmm, definitely strange.
In the first instance can you try visiting the Permalink Settings screen – you don’t need to change anything, just visiting this causes WordPress to “flush” or refresh it’s list of rewrite rules.
If that doesn’t help, would you be able to try deactivating all other plugins and switch, temporarily, to a default and unmodified theme (whether on the live site or a duplicate testing installation where you can also replicate this) and see if that resolves this problem?
Assuming for the moment it does solve this – the next step would be to reactivate everything one-at-a-time and test at each stage to see if the problem has returned. This is a great way to zero in on any potential conflicts.
Let me know how you get on 🙂

MemberHi: I’m sorry you’re experiencing problems here.
Before we go any further though can you confirm if this is still an issue if you deactivate all other plugins except for The Events Calendar/Events Calendar PRO and additionally switch to a default, unmodified theme (Twenty Thirteen is a great choice for this)?
Assuming that resolves the issue, try reactivating everything and check at each stage to see if the problem has returned: that way we might be able to zero in on the cause of the problem – if it does indeed stem from a conflict.
Let me know how you get on 🙂

MemberHi! Can you double check those credentials and/or confirm the URL for logging in (in case it’s something other than the regular /wp-login.php) – I seem unable to login.
Barry
MemberWe’d definitely consider something along those lines – please do post a feature request (or check for and add your support to any suitable existing requests) and we’ll give it some thought 🙂
Barry
MemberWell, “easy” is relative 🙂
I’d probably count it as an advanced customization – but if you’re at home working with JS and CSS you could definitely give it a shot. That said, this is how the view is intended to work and unless it’s really confusing users I’d tend to think it’s not something to worry about.
Barry
MemberI am also having the same issues, but only on Mobile Devices.
Hi parkadmin – so that doesn’t actually sound like the same issue. Definitely feel free to monitor this thread – but for help with your specific issue please open a new thread of your own 🙂
I don’t have any custom templates that I know of.
How would I rename the directory? thanksSo I can see you are using a theme called Espresso and I believe that may actually ship with a number of pre-built custom events templates (in fact, I can see that they are present on your site). So they aren’t custom in the sense that you yourself put them in place (rather, the theme author did) but even so they may be the source of this issue.
Using either an FTP application or your web hosting control panel’s file browser, navigate to your theme directory (wp-content/themes/espresso) – within this you will see another directory named tribe-events. Try renaming tribe-events to x-events and see if it resolves this problem. Doing so will also change other things about event related views but it would be helpful to figure out if the problem you have described is due to these templates or not (and after figuring this out you can of course change the name of that directory back to what it was previously).
Thanks – and let me know how you get on 🙂
April 30, 2014 at 7:00 am in reply to: Events not refreshing/Still shows deleted event in list and list widget #146414Barry
MemberThat definitely isn’t good:
- How did you import the events? Was it via our built in CSV import tool or via WordPress’s XML importer?
- Something is clearly going wrong and it’s a pretty unusual set of circumstances – I wonder if something else might be conflicting
With regards to the latter point, if possible, please try the following steps:
- Ensure The Events Calendar/Events Calendar PRO are up-to-date
- Switch to a default, unmodified theme such as Twenty Thirteen
- Deactivate all other plugins
Now check and see if any of those issues are resolved/try creating some new events and see if they work as expected. Let me know how you get on 🙂
April 30, 2014 at 6:54 am in reply to: show list, map, week month.. icons on right side "find event" , not on the top #146410Barry
MemberHi!
Rather than rename a single file please try renaming the actual directory. For example change:
wp-content/themes/espresso/tribe-events/To:
wp-content/themes/espresso/x-events/That should disable all of those templates. With that said, if these shipped with your theme (as opposed to being customizations that you put in place by yourself) it’s probably most appropriate to seek further support from the theme author 🙂
