MemberOK – hopefully that gives you a working solution – and I’ll go ahead and close the thread.
If we can help with any other issues please don’t hesitate to create new threads as needed ๐

MemberThanks for persevering with it! Is it making any difference to the actual number of duplicates? If so, I would persevere with it and keep running it until they are all removed.
May 1, 2014 at 6:47 am in reply to: Changing a Featured Image for Single Event formerly in a recurring series #147363Barry
MemberThanks for providing access to the test site ๐
Please also note that we try hard to stick to one issue per thread – so for any issues unrelated to the main problem I’d ask that you post new threads accordingly.
The first thing I did here was create two test sequences (“Test Sequence” and “2nd Test Sequence”), creating a featured image for both. I then edited a single instance – breaking it out of the chain – and from there I removed the featured image, replaced it with a new one and saved. The only difference in how I approached things with these two chains was that in the first case I singled out an event half way through the chain and, in the second case, I isolated the original event. Please see:
- …/event/test-sequence/all/
- …/event/test-sequence-2014-05-19/
- …/event/2nd-test-sequence/
- …/event/2nd-test-sequence-2014-05-09/all/
In both cases everything worked as expected.
We set up an event called TESTEVENT12 โ search for it under EVENTS. We added a featured image which was a street sign for FOLSOM streetโฆand then clicked publish. It displayed properly for all events. We then went to the first event in the series, clicked EDIT SINGLE, it prompted us that it would break from the series, and we agreed, then we CHANGED the featured image to a grey rectangle with a red border, and clicked update. This should have affected ONLY THAT SINGLE event.
Something does seem to have gone wrong with this test event, yet as you can see if you inspect the test events I created I am unable to reproduce this even on your own test site. It’s completely possible there is some subtle difference in how we’re approaching this, but I’m not sure what. Would you be able to create a screencast using Jing or some similar service so we can watch the exact steps you’re taking here, or else detail them more minutely?
Thanks!
May 1, 2014 at 6:11 am in reply to: data-day=โ1โณ Error when no future events are scheduled for the current month #147317Barry
MemberIt looks like you’ve passed into a month with lots of events so hopefully it will no longer be a problem on a practical level.
Sometimes these issues can crop up if you have template overrides (particularly relating to month view). So if that is the case and you have a tribe-events directory within your theme directory it might be worth revising what’s in there.
Beyond that I’m not sure how much we’re going to be able to do here – can you confirm if this is a custom theme?

MemberSure – I hope it works out for you ๐
Barry
MemberHi – sorry you’ve been experiencing these issues. Let me try to address each point in turn.
#1 … This time the ticketing info came through. Why do you think this happened? Is there a way we can avoid this in the future?
I’m not sure I can replicate or fully understand what you’re describing (and so am unsure if possibly this is expected behaviour or if it might represent a bug). Would it be possible to distill this down into a set of steps that would allow us to reliably replicate the issue?
#2 But Iโm wondering if you have any other suggestions to help make life easier for the content person (who wonโt know HTML)?
Hmm, tricky. The problem of course is that formatting you/your team find undesirable might be desirable to other users. We’d be open to your own suggestions here (you can post them on our UserVoice page) but ultimately we need to do what works best for the community as a whole. Are there elements you can identify as being particularly undesirable and others that you would seek to keep? If so, definitely do add them to your feature request – we’re always interested in ways to improve our products ๐
#3 … Iโm actually the developer and I have several clients who Iโve recommended to use Modern Tribe products. Because of the on-going subscription costs, I usually have them sign up for it so that their billing info is in the account. But this then makes it difficult for me to get support.
I definitely understand where you’re coming from here and I’ll raise this with the team. We do however have a developer license that can be useful in this sort of scenario, though I appreciate that might not quite accommodate exactly what you want here.
Thanks again for all the feedback and questions – one last thing I’d note is it is usually best to break separate topics up into separate threads: it helps to avoid confusion in long running threads and also makes it easier for us to help all our customers in a timely fashion.
… and let me know if there is anything else you can add re point 1 ๐
April 30, 2014 at 5:13 pm in reply to: "Error Initializing Tribe Events" on every page returns 404s #146905Barry
MemberI’m sorry you’re hitting difficulties.
In the first instance can you flush permalinks by visiting the Permalink Settings screen – you don’t need to actually change anything, just visiting this triggers a refresh of WordPress’s list of rewrite rules.
If that doesn’t help, please then try deactivating all other plugins and switch to a default, completely unmodified theme such as Twenty Thirteen (and then repeat the permalink flush step). Does that help here? If so, start reactivating everything one-at-a-time, testing at each stage to see if the problem returns and noting down what seems to be conflicting if so.
Let me know how you get on!
Barry
MemberSo with regards to the map issues – is the primary problem that the tooltips aren’t collapsing once you’ve clicked on them?
I don’t actually see any Javascript errors which would ordinarily be helpful for something like this, so it’s a bit puzzling. Have you by any chance tried switching events template (via the Events > Settings > Display admin screen) and does that impact at all?
(Also apologies for asking 2 different questions at once, but is there any way to have a โsubmit an eventโ button (I have the community events addon) be displayed on the main events page?)
It’s usually best to create a separate topic ๐
Would you be able to do that and confirm what you mean exactly (do you actually want the submission form plus submit button to be embedded, or just style a link to the submission form such that it looks like a button)?
Thanks!
April 30, 2014 at 5:06 pm in reply to: Monthly Calendar View not showing up on Mobile devices. #146896Barry
MemberI’m sorry you’re hitting problems.
Espresso – if it’s the same Espresso I’m thinking of – ships with a number of custom event templates “out of the box” and they may be impacting here. Would it be possible to identify in the first instance if that is the problem by temporarily switching to a default theme (and do you then find you can click on calendar dots and see the corresponding list of events below it when viewing via a handheld device)?
Let me know how you get on!
Barry
MemberUnfortunately if this is a complication introduced by switching languages via qTranslate there isn’t much assistance we can offer at this time: we realize it’s a popular plugin and if you want to add your support to an existing UserVoice feature request for this that would certainly help us when prioritizing future work in this regard:
If I’m misunderstanding and you are experiencing problems with translations independently of qTranslate, though, definitely let me know ๐
Barry
MemberHi – thanks for the question ๐
I’m not quite sure I know what you’re referring to when you refer to the tickets tab – can you confirm?
April 30, 2014 at 9:05 am in reply to: Remove duplicates plugin results in Internal Server Error #146560Barry
MemberHi – we’re sorry for the inconvenience.
It sounds like perhaps its simply running out of time due to the volume of events that need to be merged: can you try re-running it a few times?
Barry
MemberHi – great question!
You can certainly create orders manually in WooCommerce which ought to accommodate this (simply add a ticket product as a line item). You can then accept payment however you like and just mark the order as complete in order to update the attendee list.
Does that answer your question?
Barry
MemberHi!
It sounds like a CSS issue, however you don’t seem to have provided a URL where we can see the issue (and as CSS varies massively according to what theme and other plugins you are using, I wouldn’t like to offer a blind guess here).
Thanks!
April 30, 2014 at 8:59 am in reply to: Events happening early next month show on month view? #146548Barry
MemberHi – great question!
I can definitely see the utility of that. Right now though that’s something you would need to do by means of a customization (our Themer’s Guide outlines the basic steps) – though we’d certainly welcome this as a feature request if you’d like to post one ๐
In theory – though arguably not the very most efficient way of doing things (but it might provide an outline you can use to kick things off) – you could override the month/loop-grid.php template. You could then test for “dead days” belonging to other months by inspecting the $daydata variable and, with a little arithmetic, figure out the actual date and populate the cell from there.
It’s a bit more involved than we can help you with but you might be able to take it further yourself and, of course, please do post a feature request!
Thanks!
