MemberGlad you got there!
Barry
MemberOK – that’s bound to be frustrating but I guess there isn’t too much that we’ll be able to do here given what you’ve described (except of course recommend you continue to update manually in the case of our core plugin).
If you do figure out the root cause of this issue, though, it would be great to hear about it.
Good luck 🙂
Barry
MemberOK, thanks for sharing that information.
Though I realize you note the problem has been there for a while, I wonder if it may have been made worse upon updating to 3.5 (as we did have a bug that increased the number of recurring events). We’ve got details of this and a cleanup plugin here:
https://theeventscalendar.com/release-events-calendar-pro-3-5-2-hotfix/
Can you review that and perhaps even try using the cleanup plugin? Or are you completely unable to access the site/admin environment?
Barry
MemberOK – so you can now add tickets to events? If so, great!
There is currently a bug however that prevents the license field from showing up when you use just The Events Calendar and WooCommerce Tickets: we’re looking into this and it should be resolved in our very next maintenance release – so if you can bear with us a little longer the next update ought to fix this 🙂
Barry
MemberI’m really sorry you’re hitting that.
A number of customers have recently been hitting problems when they use WP Engine – we’re actively looking into this and we’ll do our best to pop back in here with an update once we’ve got something further to report.
Thanks for sharing the log details – and for your patience while we investigate 🙂
Barry
MemberThanks!
Despite the extra query variables at the end the ID continues to be the numeric part at the end of the “slug” (eventbrite.com/e/some-name-12345678?abc=de&id=3d21a5b67c) and it works just fine when I test it locally.
With that in mind, can I ask you to confirm that your Eventbrite API key is entered in the user profile for whichever user account is being used for import processes – and that it is correct? I realize you noted everything was working until recently, but this is still worth checking on.
From there, can you try deactivating all other plugins except for The Events Calendar and Eventbrite Tickets: make sure both of those are up-to-date and then also deactivate you theme (switch to a default one like Twenty Thirteen instead) and try this out again.
Do you still experience difficulties and do those steps enable you to isolate a conflict with another plugin/your theme?
Barry
MemberHmm, ok. Do you have an approximate idea of how many events you might have and can you tell me who your hosting provider is?
One other thing I am curious about ixs did you recently update your plugins from an older version – and if so have you looked at this announcement? It’s not impossible that things are going slowly due to a number of duplicates that were generated during the update process … if that sounds like a possibility to you then making use of the cleanup plugin linked to in that post might be worth a shot.
Barry
MemberThanks: so I visited that URL and searched for color and Color Obstacle Run was included in the results, albeit pretty far down. Can you confirm you aren’t seeing it at all? Or is the problem the number of results that are included when you search for that keyword?
(I do note that a search for keywords like highland and viking seem to work nicely – so perhaps the issue is just that you are using color in lots of places?)
Barry
MemberYou’re right, it’s nothing to do with your theme as such – your theme’s functions.php file is just a convenient place to put code like this (but if you’re experienced and prefer to use a standalone plugin or something like that you are of course more than welcome to).
I’m not sure why it isn’t working in your case … does nothing change at all and can you share your theme’s functions.php file so I can see where you added the code in case something went wrong there?
Barry
MemberHi – thanks for breaking it out into a separate thread, first of all – it’s genuinely appreciated 🙂
Can you share an actual Eventbrite event URL that you are trying to import from so (as in the other thread) I can test out importing it? As you can see in the other thread it seemed that so long as the event was marked as public the import was successful – at least in our own tests – and it would be great to confirm if this might hold true here, too.
Thanks!
Barry
MemberHi!
If you purchased through Theme Forest you can try grabbing your downloads via your account there.
If it’s no longer available though then you could certainly purchase a new license from us here and get the very latest copy – and if you are running an otherwise up-to-date WordPress installation I wouldn’t actually recommend installing a much older historic copy of our plugin in any case 🙂
Does that help?
Barry
MemberHi – sorry you’re hitting difficulties.
Does that error only occur when you load month view? If so, would it be possible to make enquiries with your host in case there is a problematic query running that they can identify?
Barry
MemberHi – completely possible!
Tweaks like this are certainly possible and quite easy to achieve – there are some examples scattered around the forums and if you need a little more direction you’re more than welcome to post your question there, too (once you have a license of course) 🙂
I hope that answers your question but let me know if we can help with anything else.
Barry
MemberHi!
It should already be labelled Use Saved Venue (albeit it isn’t a true HTML label element) … are you asking it be wrapped in
<label>tags? We’re definitely happy to get that on the to-do list if so 🙂
Barry
MemberThank you John: we’re actively pursuing some further testing and investigation within a WP Engine environment to try and get to the heart of this. I’ll definitely add the info you shared and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
Thanks again!
