    Hmm, that is puzzling.

I wouldn’t think a template change would cause this – especially since you say that manually cycling through the order statuses triggers the correct behaviour.

What normally happens is as soon as the status is set to complete a piece of code in our plugin swings into action. The first thing it does is check if tickets have already been generated (because, of course, we only want the tickets to be created once for each order and in theory the status could be move to and from completed a number of times).

Assuming no tickets have been generated, it builds them in the database and sends out the ticket email.

And the only update we had lately, during the time stuff ‘went wrong’, was from Omnicard, to be able to pay with iDeal.

This is nothing but speculation, but I wonder if it is using a standard WordPress or WooCommerce API call to set the order status. If it did not and directly changed it with a database query then it would subvert the process I described above.

Again, that’s nothing but a possibility, but it could be worth exploring.

    • Is the payment gateway something you purchased from WooThemes, or was it from an independent shop?
    • Do you use any other payment gateways simultaneously? If so, have any orders made through that been similarly impacted?

“Sorry, key validation server is not available.”

OK, so this can happen for a number of reasons. One is temporary connectivity issues – but if it’s been a consistent problem for some time now that’s unlikely (so if you’ve had the license key in place for more than a few days that probably isn’t it).

Another is a plugin or theme conflict where third party code hinders things. To test this possibility out you could do one of two things:

    • The first is completing our standard troubleshooting steps – then test to see if you still get the same message when nothing but our plugins and a default theme is running
    • The second – which would avoid disruption to your live site – is quickly installing a fresh copy of WordPress (in a subdirectory, for instance) then add only our plugins and add the license key there then check to see what message appears

Last but by no means least, some hosting environments simply aren’t conducive to our update/license validation system and there isn’t too much we can do in those cases.

If you want to give some of the troubleshooting steps outlined above a try that would be great – otherwise, remember that you can still upgrade to the latest and greatest manually, by grabbing then uploading the latest versions of our plugins (available here and here) 🙂

Hmm, ok. It looks like – at least at one point or other – you successfully registered a domain for your plugin licenses. On your current site, can you confirm that’s still in place? I’m basically wondering if for any reason they were disconnected.

To test this, please visit Events → Settings → Licenses and ensure your license keys are entered and are showing as valid.

Also I have both the event calandar regular and pro plugins in the site. Is it ok to delete the event calendar regular?

Sorry for missing this when I first replied: PRO depends on the core plugin, so to use Events Calendar PRO you must also have The Events Calendar up and running 🙂

    How odd.

If I install the Spanish (Spanish Spanish – just es) language files for WordPress and choose that language it seems to work as expected, in the admin environment as well as the frontend.

For instance, where you are seeing Upcoming Events I see Próximos Eventos.

You noted you had installed both the .po and .mo files – I’m curious about this because our own Spanish .po and .mo files ship with the plugin, you shouldn’t need to install them. Are these custom translations?

Can you also confirm you are using Spanish Spanish (as opposed to a different regional Spanish translation)?

    Thanks!

    Hi Corey,

I’m sorry you’ve had such a rough experience, I can only imagine some sort of conflict is going on. There are a few possible strategies we might use here.

The first is to edit your wp-config.php file and set WP_DEBUG to true, then try updating again. You can almost certainly expect it to fail, given what you have described, but this should at least result in getting some meaningful error messages – rather than a blank screen – which you could then share with us (the downside is of course that you’d need to do the same directory name change to restore things).

Alternatively, you could start by deactivating all other plugins and switching to a default theme and then try activating the latest version of The Events Calendar – if it works, it may be that a plugin or theme conflict is at work.

One other thought is that the copy of The Events Calendar on the filesystem may, for whatever reason, have been corrupted or be incomplete. If you’re happy working with FTP, it could be worth removing it and manually uploading a fresh copy obtained from the WordPress plugin directory.

Does that give you enough to work with? If you do hit further problems please just let me know and we’ll be happy to assist as best we can 🙂

    Hi Steve,

They absolutely can. The ticket email is generated from a template that can be customized like any other: if you want to find out more about that process before purchasing definitely do check out our Themer’s Guide 🙂

    Does that answer your question?

    That’s odd.

Have any customizations/plugins been added that suppress update notification? What if you navigate directly to Dashboard → Update in the admin menu, are the updates listed then?

    Hi Parth,

A great starting point if you wish to make customizations like adding your own styles is our Themer’s Guide and I would definitely recommend reading through it if you want to get a better sense of how things piece together 🙂

I have selected ‘Tribe Events Styles’ from the style options and I want to overwrite tribe-events-full.css from the resources folder to my theme folder.I have put it on the ‘tribe-events’ folder with same name. But it’s not working.

Overwriting it in this way isn’t possible, I’m afraid.

What you can do however is place a stylesheet named tribe-events.css in a tribe-events directory within your theme. If you really need to remove the original stylesheet you can do so by using WordPress’s wp_dequeue_style() function- but you may find it easier simply to override the specific styles you’re interested in and/or lower the stylesheet setting in Events → Settings → Display.

    I hope that helps!

    Hi Michael,

So is that page your main blog page? If so, might you be seeing events there because the Include Events in Main Blog Loop setting is enabled? You can adjust this setting from the Events → Settings → General admin page.

    Does that help at all?

    Hi there Arnold,

That’s definitely possible if you don’t mind doing a little customization work 🙂

In the first instance, please familiarize yourself with the Themer’s Guide (if you haven’t already done so) which covers most of the basics for this sort of work. In this particular case you would probably wish to modify the wootickets/tickets.php template and modify the logic in there.

    Does that help?

    Hi JG,

So do you want them to have zero access to the events themselves, but the ability to access the attendee management screen?

If so while that may be possible by means of a customization I’m afraid it isn’t facilitated “out of the box”. We’d absolutely welcome any feature requests you might post over on our UserVoice along these lines, though, or you might even find a suitable existing suggestion like this one and up-vote it:

    Hi there B.,

Just to clarify: which language are you trying to work with – and have you configured WordPress to use this particular language?

Thanks Marc – we’ll take a look at that.

For the time being you can find information about other releases in a different category of the blog:

    I hope that helps!

    Hi Tisha,

It sounds like perhaps Events Calendar PRO is at a later version (3.9.1?) than your copy of The Events Calendar. In the first instance, can you try updating The Events Calendar itself?

If that doesn’t help, can you let me know the version numbers of each plugin (you can find this by visiting WordPress’s main plugin admin screen).

    Thanks!
