MemberSorry to hear that Gary. Just to confirm, when you tried deactivating all other plugins and switching to a default, unmodified theme – did that have no effect here?
If it did not then, if possible, can you talk with your web developer and see if you can extract the relevant error log entries then share those here?
Barry
MemberSure.
Assuming it’s resolved, which is great, just be aware that on our end this has flagged up a couple of technical issues and we will work hard to resolve those before the next release if at all possible.
Barry
MemberUnfortunately this would take a little too much time to set up and help troubleshoot … so, regrettably, I have to say you’re on your own on this one.
Sorry we can’t do more on this occasion.
Barry
MemberGood to hear you’re on track 🙂
Barry
MemberNo problem 🙂

MemberHi Amilkar, just checking in again.
Are you all sorted here / do you need further assistance?

MemberThat may be so, certainly updating directly on Eventbrite will not trigger an update on WordPress.
Are you pretty much good to go here – or do you require further support?
Barry
MemberHi Steve – does this relate to the Community Events add-on?
Barry
MemberGreat!

MemberHi David,
I set up the theme you sent across and do not see this problem locally – perhaps that’s because there is some setting or even widget I need to enable, or perhaps there is more than one conflict, however it does unfortunately make this quite tricky to troubleshoot.
Are there any other specifics you can think of that might let me replicate this?
Barry
MemberAh, OK. Yes that works. The one you posted when you created the thread was missing some characters (php5312 instead of php53-12 and some others) … anyway, yes I can see the problem now.
You also noted that you tried deactivating all other plugins and reverting to a default theme – am I correct in thinking that didn’t resolve the problem?

MemberHi Andrew: we’ve been doing some further work on this (and I do appreciate you may no longer be interested in working with our plugins – but it may be useful for others out there, too) and I’d like to come back to a point I raised early on re caching.
I would say this could fairly be called a sporadic problem, for instance:
Andrew Okay, there is clearly no pattern here as the Pace and Narrative Drive event you linked to above was also showing as event passed previously, but now is not.
This is the sort of thing we often see where caching is an issue – simply because there can be a delay before the cache is invalidated and a freshly generated page can be shown. Now I do appreciate you stated that there is no caching solution in use but I did recall seeing an error while I browsed around your website that had clues suggesting your site is hosted by WPEngine – I’m sure you can confirm if that is the case or not.
Just be aware, that although it may be transparent to you, WPEngine does implement various caching layers and so although at this point I am not in a position to categorically say that’s the problem, it’s definitely a worthy avenue of investigation.
If you do want to take this up again then, as per Rob’s comment above (thanks Rob!), we’d be very happy to work through it with you.
Thanks!
Barry
MemberHi Simone, I’m not sure which thread you are referring to. I can only find three that you have participated in, and none suggest the plugin will work without problems using Gantry.
However, we definitely acknowledge that there are some significant issues with Gantry as we discussed here. To reiterate, we absolutely want to provide support for users of both our plugin and Gantry but we simply don’t have a set of easy answers at this point in time (Gantry has a fairly unique structure as compared to other themes).
Instead, our intention is to develop and release a tutorial or set of tutorials to guide users of Gantry who also want to use The Events Calendar and our intent would be to make that available when The Events Calendar 3.0 is released, or else soon thereafter.
Alternatively you could consider using any support channels provided by Gantry or indeed the services of a suitable web developer – right now, however, there regrettably isn’t much else we can offer up on this front.
Barry
MemberHi Cliff – bear with me and I’ll check if that is indeed still a problem with 3.0.
Barry
MemberThanks for running through those steps – what I’m going to do is involve a member of the dev team to see if they have any further thoughts on this.
