MemberNo problem, it’s a great idea and again we’ve logged this for consideration in a future release (whether it will be accepted or not I don’t unfortunately know at this point).
It does have a number of challenges (what if stock is down to 10 tickets for all ticket types and someone orders 10 of all three types, for instance, an over-order of 20 tickets, etc) and there are numerous scenarios and permutations to work through here.
If you get something going it would be great to hear back – for the time being though I can only wish you luck 🙂

MemberOK, well thanks for the feedback. If we can make this process pain free – and it should be – that is what we will aim to do. If you or your client have any specific concerns (I’m not quite sure what sort of failure we’re discussing here) then just let me know and I’ll try to let you know if that’s something we have fixed or even if it is something we are unaware of.
The text you quoted (from the download page) could definitely be reworded and we’ve actually got this very thing chalked this down as an area for improvement – which will probably happen as part of some wider ranging changes that are scheduled for a future date.

MemberGreat!

MemberGreat – one of the team will reply as quickly as possible, certainly if you don’t here anything by Friday please let me know just in case it got lost in the shuffle.
Barry
MemberThat’s definitely possible but it’s really beyond the scope of support we can offer to guide you through what will ultimately require some custom programming.
Also – though I appreciate this isn’t an immediately helpful to you – we’ve logged a previously made suggestion about pooling ticket inventory per event, so in the future it may be easier to do this.
As a basic strategy though you could aim to use a suitable hook such as woocommerce_order_status_completed to either ensure inventory is depleted for all of the ticket types – regardless of which is actually purchased – or else implement whatever logic suits your requirements.
Sorry we can’t offer up more on this occasion.
Barry
MemberYes I believe that’s safe, but if you do discover any bugs please let us know 🙂
As with all updates, do take the time to backup (and familiarize yourself with how to restore that backup) before pressing ahead. Thanks!

MemberOK, sorry for the misunderstanding: I had thought the primary issue was that dates were being magically modified to the incorrect values.
I can definitely see the problem with only a single event being shown (for recurring events) when the category filter is in use and suspect this is a bug. I’ll check it out and see if there is anything we can do in the short term – please bear with me and I’ll update you as soon as I can.

MemberMy own impression was that the site as a whole was fairly slow – but various factors could be at work there and it might not be something all your visitors are experiencing or would agree with.
How well your site will cope with 12,000 events is dependant on a large number of factors – the type of hosting and server resources that are available, the amount and frequency of site traffic, if caching is in place (and what type of caching), etc.
If you are using a low end shared hosting package for instance and are getting decent levels of traffic (in addition to having all those events etc) it might be worth investigating other hosting solutions.

MemberSorry folks, misinterpreted things there – I thought you’d found the conflict and perhaps chosen different plugins to workaround it.
Let me check in to this. Generally speaking we are pretty limited in what we can do where conflicts like this arise, but I’ll certainly take a peek and discuss it with the team 🙂

MemberIf you haven’t purchased any of our premium plugins then you will not be able to (of course, if you have purchased one or more premium plugins and cannot access the premium forums just let me know).
If you are using only our free plugin then please use the wordpress.org link I supplied if you need support.
Thanks!

MemberHi samarainfocenter,
It seems as if the web server is timing out after only managing to render part of the page. There are a number of possibilities here – so what I would recommend in the first instance are following our basic troubleshooting steps:
- Please ensure that your Modern Tribe plugins are up-to-date and in-synch … for instance if you are using The Events Calendar 2.0.11 you must also use Events Calendar PRO 2.0.11
- Deactivate all other plugins and change your theme to a default, unmodified one such as Twenty Eleven or Twenty Twelve
- Now test to see if the problem still exists
- If the problem has been solved by these steps, start reactivating everything one-at-a-time, testing at each point to see if the issue has returned
- If the issue does return, take note of whichever plugin (or theme) you reactivated immediately before it started again – it’s likely there is a conflict with this item
I note also that you recently updated … what was the version you updated from – and is it possible you had custom templates relating to that previous version that may now be causing issues?
Barry
MemberSounds like you folks are all sorted here, but let me know if you need further support on this one.
March 13, 2013 at 9:24 am in reply to: Just installed and no way to add events or let users add events #42562Barry
MemberNormally you would click on Events > Add New and type away – is that menu option not present?
…or enable users to add events.
Just to clarify, if you wish general visitors to add events you will probably require the Community Events add-on for this.
Barry
MemberHi clubbingpriest, I’m going to move this across to the Community Events forum.
Barry
MemberI can’t think of anything that would facilitate this off the top of my head – it may be worth casting around the WordPress plugins directory though and see if anything gets you close.
Nice idea though.
