    Hi Simone,

I’m not fully familiar with how the google calendar exports the location of the event, but based on the testing done yesterday, the Where field in google cal is translated into the LOCATION: in the exported .ics file. This is as much as I know about it.

As for the 2 issues discussed yesterday, it is still too early to say anything about them.

I’ll set this ticket to “pending fix” status. The ticket is still open and we will update it when there is any news.

If you have any new questions or other issues please create a new ticket to keep things clean in the forums.

    Cheers,
    Andras

    Hi Erik, happy 2017!

Thanks for reporting that, I already passed it along the team. Happy to hear importing works. Back before Christmas we have released a Maintenance Release for The Events Calendar which was also addressing this issue. So the end result might be the combination of the 2 factors. ๐Ÿ™‚

As for the exclamation mark errors, we are aware of that issue and a fix for that is currently waiting for internal testing so it should be released pretty soon. I ask for a little bit of patience for that.

I am going set this topic to pending fix – as the original issue is solved, and the newly reported one is almost solved -, but the thread is still open and we will update this ticket once the fix is out.

If you have any new questions or issues please create a new ticket and reference this one.

    Thanks and cheers,
    Andras

    Hi Simone and happy 2017!

    Thanks for clarifying the questions.

    Location:
I checked and the basic venue information / address is included in the ical feed. However, the name of the venue is not. I have opened a ticket for this, so might be implemented in the future.

    URLs in the description:
When the ical feed is generated then all html tags are stripped from the event description. I’m currently checking with some colleagues if there is a specific reason we are doing that or not. I’ll get back to you as soon as I get a reply.

    Cheers,
    Andras

    Hi Jens,

Happy to hear you managed to get it fixed.

Just a note on the right column with widgets. I believe you can make that disappear with a setting under Events > Settings > Display tab > Events template. This way you will not need css to hide that, in case you used that.

I am going to close this ticket, but if you need anything else related to this topic or another please open a new topic in the forum and we will be happy to help you out.

    Hey Roz,

Happy 2017! Hope you had a great holiday!

Unfortunately at the moment the number of items within the shortcodes cannot be limited. But the number of items shown is influenced by the setting under Events > Settings > General tab > Number of events to show per page

Alternatively you can try this plugin:

The Events Calendar Shortcode & Block

This has a whole bunch of shortcodes that could help you and if I’m right you can also set how many items you want to show. Note though that this plugin is not developed nor supported by us.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,

    Andras

Hello Brian and happy new year!

I’m sorry for the somewhat belated reply. I left a couple days earlier before Christmas so I can help Santa wrap all the gifts. Poor dude is always so overloaded… ๐Ÿ™‚

There is no update on this ticket yet. We were busy squashing some high impact bugs before the holiday, that seemed to have worked. We’re soon going to go through our tickets again to see what can make it to the next release(s). I will keep you updated if there’s any news.

    Cheers,
    Andras

    Czeล›ฤ‡ Roz,

With the new shortcodes introduced in version 4.3 earlier this fall you can basically insert any calendar view on any page. I believe this shortcode would do the trick for you:

    [tribe_events view="list" tribe-bar="false"]

And here is the full article on the shortcodes:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/embedding-calendar-views-tribe_events-shortcode/

If you want to use a widget, then the Event List widget would be your best bet.

Check and let me know if any of this helps.

    Cheers,
    Andras

Meanwhile I wait for your update I will try to check with the team if anyone has experienced something like this and will let you know if anything turns up.

In case we don’t connect until then I wish you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas and a joyful holiday!

Hey Bob, I’m sorry to hear that, but happy that you managed to find the source of the issue.

This article might be of use and also has links to some other caching plugins which you might want to give a try. And of course there are some pay-for caching plugins on the market as well.
