Featured Calendar: Flathead Avalanche
Each month, we cover a different customer using The Events Calendar products. What’s exciting for us is seeing the wide variety of customers that use our products and how they apply to such an extensive range of businesses.
This month, we’re featuring Flathead Avalanche. This website is a partnership committed to reducing avalanche incidents and fatalities in northwest Montana. They provide lots of resources on their website, including avalanche risk via a map, and they host events for the community to help them learn how to protect themselves, have a little fun, and build a sense of community around the mountains they live in.
Below, we’ll show you how they put together a valuable and informative website to help their community stay safe and enjoy the outdoor space around them.
The homepage
On the homepage, you’ll find that Flathead Avalanche makes its mission known. The first thing you see is a map detailing the avalanche risk in each location in the area for the day. From there, you can scroll down to find more resources or explore the navigation at the top of the menu. And that brings us to the main event, the calendar page!
The main calendar page
Flathead Avalanche uses a standard version of our calendar that is available right out of the box. It couldn’t be easier to set up your events this way. There are three view options available with our free The Events Calendar plugin. And there are single-day events, as well as multi-day events that can span any amount of time.
The single event page
You’ll see all of the classic event details on the single event page. Flathead Avalanche has a no-frills style that gives you all the information you need to attend the event without distracting site visitors with unnecessary colors or images. This simple and to-the-point style really works well for them.
The venue page
Something of note with this website is that they utilize the single venue page feature. If a venue has enough events, you can link your users to the venue page to see the events available for a specific venue. Above, you’ll see how a standard venue page appears. There are also lots of options to customize the page as well.
