Awesome WooCommerce Extensions for Event Ticket Sales

WooCommerce is one of the most popular e-commerce platforms in the world.

And you can add even more oomph to your site by enhancing it with extensions and add-ons.

Out of more than 290 official extensions in their library, we’ve narrowed down the top four to help event organizers boost ticket sales.

Name Your Price

The Name Your Price extension lets you structure ticket prices so attendees can “pay what you can.” This WooCommerce extension is particularly popular among nonprofits, religious organizations, and community groups. It’s a great way to cast a wide net and empower folks to chip in what they can.

Memberships

Each ticket sold to an attendee is typically a one-time sale. With WooCommerce Memberships, you can create a membership system that opens up a new stream of recurring revenue for your business or organization.

While increasing or establishing recurring revenue is great, memberships have additional value beyond the bottom line. Venues of all types—from museums and gyms to community theaters and conference spaces—often sell memberships as a way to increase engagement.

Deposits

WooCommerce Deposits is an extension that lets you collect down payments and set up payment plans for event tickets or other products on your site. By making a high-price ticket financially accessible to more attendees, you can dramatically increase your ticket sales and conversion rates.

The website of photographer Colin Prior is a great example of this extension in action. People rave about the week-long guided photojournalism retreats he offers through his website (using The Events Calendar, no less!), and they sell out quickly whenever a new set of dates is announced.

The retreats themselves are quite expensive, but WooCommerce Deposits makes tickets easier to purchase by letting folks make an initial down payment to reserve their spot and pay the rest of the balance over time.

Product Bundles

Bundling products together is a great way to boost sales and Iconic’s WooCommerce Bundled Products helps you achieve just that.

One of the most common uses for this extension is bundling physical merchandise with ticket sales. If you’re selling tickets to a workshop, for example, you may have a workbook or other learning materials attendees will need.

Selling the Tickets Themselves

When we built our free and premium event ticketing solutions, one of the early design choices we made was making sure “tickets” are variants of the WooCommerce “Product” post type. Because of this, our plugins play nice with most WooCommerce extensions out-of-the-box.

We’re stoked that Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus both work well with each of the extensions mentioned here, and regardless of what ticketing platform you use, we hope some (or all) of these extensions help take your events and ticket sales to the next level.
