Hey there Lillie. Thanks for reaching out, and my apologies for the inconvenience so far. Have you already tried flushing your permalinks (going to Settings -> Permalinks, resaving the page and checking the frontend again)? More often then not, problems showing these symptoms can be resolved with this simple action.

Let me know if that doesn’t do the trick and I’ll adjust my answer accordingly. Thanks again for your support and patience in the interim.

Hey Christopher. Joyce is out for the next week or so, but I’d be happy to try and help you out best I can.

The list view is controlled by the list.php file that came in the core The Events Calendar plugin. I’d be interested to hear whether, if you manually attempted to set the title via the instructions provided here (https://theeventscalendar.com/renaming-the-calendar-to-something-other-than-calendar-of-events/), you had any better luck getting it to display.

Also, have you checked out our themer’s guide? It isn’t theme-specific, but may be of some value to you here: tri.be/themers-guide-to-the-events-calendar/. Let me know if you’re still struggling from there and I can try to get a dev to point you in the right direction. Thanks!

Hi there Kim. Thanks for reaching out here, and for your use of the plugin. While this particular issue is a bit outside my area of expertise, let me ask our dev Paul to take a look and try to point you in the right direction here. Stay tuned.

Hey Shaun. Not sure about this one myself, but I can ask one of our devs to chime in. Once answered this would probably be worth adding to the FAQ too.

Stay tuned and I’ll have someone take a look as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience so far.

Hi there Lauren: just to follow-up on the question you’d asked me above…the same does seem to happen with past events in the recurrence; I can update all future events, those changes are applied and the event I was editing remains in place.

If you want to email me a set of admin credentials to the dev site (pro /a tri.be) with the understanding that I’m going to attempt only what you are telling me there – and that we unfortunately can’t be held responsible if anything goes awry as a result. While I don’t expect that to happen you may want to backup beforehand to be safe.

Nick’s solution should give you what you need here, Robert; can you confirm whether you’re set or if you still need anything else here?

    Thanks Nick!

Hey Jen! Thanks for confirming as much, and apologies to hear this thread went dormant for a while. Joyce is out for the next week or so and we’re a bit understaffed on the support side.

But! I’m glad to hear you got this figured out and that you’re set on the core issue here. I am closing the thread accordingly. As always, let us know if you need anything else down the road 🙂

    Thanks for the assist, Andy!

Christian: solid suggestion. That should definitely be in there and we’ll work it in accordingly. Looks like you’re all set here but let us know if you need anything else.

Hi Michelle. Thanks for the confirmation, and apologies that it took me a few days to get you a response. (We’re a bit short-staffed on the support side for the next couple weeks). Thanks for explaining on the date picker/next day side…that’s an interesting request. Since each list view isn’t exclusively events from 1 day, the date picker might be the way to go.

Have you worked with a dev here on the forum to get the grid view issue resolved? If not, let me know and I can get someone to take a look – it shouldn’t look that way and I’d like to do what we can to get that figured out for you. Let me know whether someone has already told you if it’s impossible (which seems unlikely) and if not I’ll get a dev to try and advise.

Would that relieve the need for the date picker item discussed? It’d probably be an easier end to achieve in the short-term…

Thanks for your patience so far.

Hey guys, thanks for these ideas here.

Brett: if I understand correctly what you’re going for, this should be doable by clicking into a given event and selecting the link to a category it’s assigned in. Were you looking for something different than that? IE a dropdown filter on the broader grid view or something similar?

Joe: we are indeed aware that there is unfortunately a conflict between our plugin and qTranslate. We have that on our radar and, since we know qTranslate is widely used, we want to make sure they integrate together smoothly. Given that it’s been somewhat difficult to identify what’s causing the problem and how to fix it, realistically we probably won’t have a fix deployed on our end until the 2.1 release comes sometime in the fall. I apologize for the inconvenience you’re faced with in the interim though.

Let me know if you guys need anything else. Since this thread has gotten rather long, I’m going to close it out – please feel free to post any future questions anyone may have as a separate thread and I’ll address them in a timely fashion.

Hey Bill. Thanks for reaching out here, and for your interest in the plugin. Happy to answer these questions best I can:

    1. At this point, it’s unfortunately not doable without hacking the core plugin (which we don’t recommend). We have had a few requests for this option and I can personally see the value in it myself; it’s logged as a proposed feature for a future build and if it comes it’d likely be sometime during the 2.1 lifecycle. (More on that below).
    2. Another one that we’ve had a few requests for and have logged on the broader roadmap, but sadly have no support for at this point.
    3. Given how this plugin is set up, the multisite integration doesn’t allow for just one calendar to display information to all calendars within that network out of the box. Since the plugin does come with an iCal feed, that may be the best route – either that or a third-party plugin.
    4. Good question. This hasn’t really come up much before, but I know we have had a few users tying their events into MailChimp (which may be a bit heavy-handed for your needs…). The Community add-on allows for notifications to be sent to the site admin when a new submission comes through, and we’re probably going to be building that out a bit further over the next few months, but don’t have any immediate plans for email notifications in Events unless we see a significant demand for it from the community.

We certainly do have a somewhat extensive plan for this plugin down the road (continuing with our monthly maintenance dot-releases, then doing a broader push every few months – 2.1 will be our next of those)…but not much that we’ve got available to share. Yet. The 2.1 roadmap is fairly close to being finalized and we’re on track to have that out sometime in the fall; once we do have a defined roadmap I’m going to post it for public consumption over at the main Events Calendar PRO forum.

Hope this helps. If you have other questions or if I can elaborate on any of those above, do let me know. Cheers!

in reply to: Custom Fields #22400

Hi there Tom. At this point the custom fields are limited to text; while different methods of displaying that text are available (dropdown, checkbox, text field, etc) there isn’t an option for a WYSIWYG editor at this time. Though, that may come down the road. If you’re interested in seeing more on the custom fields and how they’re used, check out this tutorial: https://theeventscalendar.com/pro-adding-custom-events-attributes/.

Hope that helps. If you have any other questions, please let me know. Thanks again for your interest so far.

Hey there Geraldo. Thanks for reaching out, and for your interest. While it looks like we already have a Brazilian Portuguese language file for PRO, we could definitely use them for our add-ons (Eventbrite, Community, Facebook, etc). Happy to comp you a PRO license in exchange for translating one of those add-ons (your pick as to which). Shoot us an email if you’re interested, pro /a/ tri.be. Cheers!
