MemberHi Graeme. Thanks for the words! Glad to hear you’re enjoying the calendar. What seems to be the easiest method for accomplishing this would be as follows:
* Download POEdit (http://www.poedit.net/).
* Open POEdit and from the File menu, select “New catalogue from POT file”. Select the .pot file from the Lang folder of The Events Calendar (not Events Calendar PRO; just the free core version).
* Find the term you want to change, and plug in the new values accordingly. You can leave every other field unchanged.
* Save, and it’ll generate a .po and .mo file. You’ll want to name these accordingly to something that works for your site; then upload to the Lang folder on your WP site.
* From there, just open your WP-config file; change the language to reflect the name of the file you just uploaded; and you should be set.Anything you left untouched will remain in its regular translation; the terms you changed, though, will show your new values. Hope this helps…if you have questions or if I’ve misunderstood the issue here, let me know.

MemberHey Andy. Thanks for the note; I’m seeing this error on your site too. In fact, when I add to iCal, even the dates that carry over aren’t working correctly. IE when I added the calendar and clicked the Scout Meeting for 4/12/12, the link it took me to when clicked was for the 6/13 listing. And, yes, as you noted…no go on the recurrence.
Since I was just able to recreate this issue on my default 2011 install, it does look like this is a bug that we hadn’t yet been made aware of. Thanks for the heads up — since this is a pretty critical issue, we’ve made it a top priority for 2.1 (which we’re working on now). Apologies for the inconvenience in the interim.
Rob
MemberGreat! My pleasure. Let us know what else we can do.

MemberThanks for confirming, Jonny. As Adam noted above: “So my guess is the OP’s problem may not be hebrew/english, but rather a LONG post (his first example) vs a short enough post (2nd example).”
Any chance that’s your issue here, too? It sounds like this could be the cause and not related to the Hebrew item at all. Would also be helpful to know whether the issue persists for you if you deactivate other plugins (specifically any that alter permalinks or are calendar-related). Also, just to confirm…you’re on 2.0.2 for both The Events Calendar and PRO, right?
Rob
MemberHere’s a good one that came through from Robert Baker, on our Facebook page: incorporating the ability to add email addresses to the backend when creating an event, so they’re automatically invited to the event upon publication; and then, the ability to register for that event upon receiving the email invite. Not sure what it’d take to implement but this is a nice idea and I do want it logged here in case anyone else would see value in such functionality.
Rob
MemberAh, excellent to hear you got this resolved. Sounds like we’re all set here, right? Let me know if not and I can continue to troubleshoot as needed. Otherwise let us know if we can do anything else!
Rob
MemberWell, the individual day links are included to allow for the single day view (so you can see all events happening on a single day). But on every environment I’ve tested on, and when I just tried to recreate your issue now, I wasn’t having any problems…you click into a day that has no events, and it should show you a message like this: http://cl.ly/2A3v0z1C1F1t3Z151P26.
If there is an issue with that single day view link not working, it’s possible you’re either running an older version of the plugin (this was a bug in one of the pre-2.0.2 builds) or that there’s another plugin conflicting here. This possible in your case, Tony?
Rob
MemberHey Tony. Thanks for the note. This may be possible, but it’d definitely require some tweaking to get there. I’m not aware of any methods off-hand; let me see if our developer Jonah can offer any suggestions on his end.
Rob
MemberHey Paul: before having Jonah jump into, can you confirm whether the 2.0.3 beta code I sent you yesterday (related to another thread) resolves this as well?
Rob
MemberHey Xpert. Jonah can comment as to the renaming of the fields; but for the sidebar calendar, you’re going to have to do some customization to get the single days clickable. As it stands now you can only click into specific events on a given single day since we intentionally designed that to be pretty bare bones. However, on the customization front, perhaps this will help you: https://theeventscalendar.com/how-to-completely-customize-widgets/.
I’ll let Jonah comment as to the other.

MemberThanks Jonny. Are you running into the same issue specific to Hebrew?
Rob
MemberThanks for confirming, Michael. Jonah will take another look here shortly.
Rob
MemberHey Timothy. Thanks for the note and sorry to hear you’re having issues. If I understand your issue correctly…you should be able to add items to the sidebar under Appearance –> Widgets, regardless of which template settings you’re using. Is it possible you’ve got a theme that is conflicting? What theme are you running on?
Rob
MemberHey Samuel. Just a heads up that we’ve got this fixed in the current 2.0.3 beta code; that should be live as a stable finished release within about a week or so. Thanks again for the tip!
Rob
MemberAwesome! That looks great; I particularly like the way it comes across on the horizontal one. Very news-y. This is a solid example of how your request can work and should give us some ideas on the dev side. Thanks Anthony.
