Hey Joshua. Thanks for the heads up. So long as you let it be for now, you’ll be fine. Remember that the license isn’t required for the plugin to operate, and that no functionality is removed when the key isn’t present. You won’t need the license for anything more than accessing support down the road, and accessing future updates to the plugin.

Since the license issue on the tri.be site will be resolved before the next official Events Calendar PRO release anyway, there’s no chance you’ll miss an update while this bug on the site is being worked on. When the fix is deployed (and we’ve alerted everyone accordingly) you’ll have full control once again, and can unlink sites as you see fit on the tri.be website.

Apologies for the inconvenience until then, though. Please let me know what else I can do in the interim.

Hey Danny. Thanks for the heads up here. Yes, this is unfortunately a known bug that we introduced in the 2.0.5 release. The good news is that we have a patch ready to go which should be deployed in the 2.0.6 code later this week.

My apologies for the inconvenience in then interim. Please let me know if upon updating, you find the issue persists.

Hey Roberto. Thanks for the note here. Have you confirmed that this is specific to your theme? If so, would you mind posting it as a separate thread so I can bring in a dev without them getting confused? Thanks!

Thanks for the note here, David. We do have some changes coming on the RSS front during the 2.1 lifecycle…as you’ve mentioned the feed is still a basic RSS feed showing date posted, when I’m pushing for it to be beefed up (to include more content) as well as to show events by date they occur rather than by date posted.

I unfortunately don’t have a timetable for that integration beyond that it should be the 2.1 lifecycle, which we’re shifting our focus to after getting 2.0.6 out this week; but have you checked the forum here to see whether any other users have found third-party RSS plugins that can assist with this? I’ve seen a few related threads that may be of value there…

Glad to be of service, Haavard. Please do let us know what else we can do down the road and thanks again for your support so far.

Sorry Sheila 🙁 I hope Jonah’s suggestion is of some value and my apologies that we couldn’t offer more beyond that.

Hey Jamie. I believe I sent you an email about this a moment ago, right? Just want to make sure so I don’t re-post here 🙂 Cheers!

Hi again Jeremy. Just wanted to follow-up on this now that I’ve had a chance to review with the dev team. Looks like this similar issue came up on the open source forums a few months back, in case you were interested in the thread as a point of reference it’s here: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-the-events-calendar-fatal-error-cannot-redeclare-sp_get_option?replies=4.

Essentially, sp_get_option is a deprecated function, meaning it’s only there for backwards compatibility. Anyone who runs into the error above can simply delete the function as explained in the WP.org forum linked to above.

That being said, for 2.0.6 (our next release at this point), we’ve added a wrapper around the function’s definition to make sure it doesn’t already exist before adding it; that will avoid any errors/conflicts going forward. 2.0.6 should be out at the start of May — so within a week or two max.

Hope that helps. Let me know if you’ve got any other questions here.

Hi there Jim. Thanks for reaching out. Are you saying you want these to be displayed separate from one another within the widget, or that you just want to remove the date but keep the time? If you can provide a bit more elaboration (my apologies for having to ask) on what you want to do, I can bring in a dev on our end to take a look.

Thanks for confirming this did the trick, Javier. Per my note a minute ago we’ll respond to your other thread as soon as we can.

Hey Javier. Thanks for the note here; it doesn’t look like that’s doable from within the basic slug editor on the Event entry, but I’d wager there is a way to do it somehow. Not positive but let me ask Jonah (who is more knowledgable about such issues than I) to take a look and respond directly. If he can’t I’ll try to bring in another dev who can. Stay tuned!

Hey again Laura. Thanks for the note on this issue. It sounds like there are two issues at play here: the widget not displaying the events by date of occurrence, and the first event on the list appearing as the title of the calendar. I am indeed seeing both on your site.

My first thought would be to just confirm that you’re running the latest 2.0.5 release for both The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO. Also, what happens if you enable permalinks? My guess is the latter will do the trick here. Just go to Settings -> Permalinks, change to a structure like “postname” (/%postname%/), save and then let me know whether either of these issues persist from there.

I can keep troubleshooting/offering up suggestions of not. Cheers!

Hey Jeremy, thanks. Since this is outside my area of expertise, I’ve asked a member of our dev team to take a look and try to help you and Carlos directly. We can’t integration with everything out there but at the same time, since there are multiple users facing this, it’d be good to get an answer on. My guess is the best we’d be able to offer up is a patch in a future release but let’s see what the dev has to say. Stay tuned!
