MemberHi there Rob. Thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear you’re having issues. It definitely sounds like something is up. Is it possible you have an old version of the PRO release active/installed on your site? If so you’ll want to deactivate it (no need to fully delete) to make room for the new release.
If you do still see the message that the folder exists, please rename the zip file on your computer and try again. I’d also open your FTP client to see if the folder shows up there but not on the WP side (which is definitely possible). Give that a go and let me know if you’re still having issues from there.

MemberExcellent to hear that did the trick, Shauna. Thanks for confirming as much and for your use of the plugin. If we can do anything else down the road please don’t hesitate to let us know!

MemberHi there Kelly. Thanks for reaching out, and for your use of the plugin. While I’m not sure about this one myself I have asked our dev Jonah to take a look and respond directly when he hits the forums later this morning. Stay tuned!

MemberHi there Javier. Happy to try and answer your questions here. For the first, we decided when releasing 2.0 to break the Events out into their own custom post type that relies on its own category taxonomy (since a lot of users didn’t want the calendar mingling with their regular blog posts). That being said if you were looking to integrate them we did put together this tutorial, which should help: https://theeventscalendar.com/integrating-wordpress-categories-tags-with-your-events/.
It sounds like, if I understand your second question correctly, the link I’ve provided above should assist with implementing that as well. Can you give it a go and confirm? Thanks in advance!
Rob
MemberHey Jim. Thanks for reaching out here, and for the detailed explanation so far – I do understand the issue. We can try to assist here but would you mind sharing the specific code you’ve used in your single.php file? If you dropped it into pastie.org or a similar service and shared the link to the finished product here, I can get a dev to try and point you in the right direction. Thanks in advance!

MemberMichele: generally we encourage users running this plugin to have permalinks enabled, both because it eases integration for issues such as this one and also because it makes it a more straightforward structure for users on the frontend and is in many ways one of WordPress’ stronger features we wanted to utilize.
Generally, changing from a non-permalink to a permalink structure should be rather seamless (aside from any hardcoded links you may have). The system will usually replace any existing links with the new structure, so your site won’t immediately become useless and filled with dead links 🙂
Hope that helps. Let me know if you had any other questions here and I’ll do what I can to assist. Cheers!

MemberHi there David. Thanks for the note here; not sure about this one myself, but let me see if our dev Jonah (far more knowledgeable on such issues than myself) has any ideas. Stay tuned, as he’ll be hitting the forums later this morning.

MemberHey there Brandon. Thanks for reaching out, and for updating to 2.0. You are correct that featured images can be used on the Events much in the same way they’d be used on regular posts. The featured image will generally (unless your theme restricts this) appear within the individual entry and upon hover in the calendar/grid view.
If you aren’t seeing the option, my guess is you’d need to enable it under “Screen Options” in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Want to check that out and let me know if you’re still having issues?
Rob
MemberThanks for the tip here, Henry.
Gareth: was this of value to you? Are you still having issues from here?
Rob
MemberHi Audrey. Thanks for reaching out, and sorry to hear you’re having issues here. Indeed, that does not appear to be the events list there…I’m wondering if someone might have changed the calendar slug, so that /events is used by that static page and the calendar lives somewhere else?
Assuming you have permalinks enabled, go to Settings -> The Events Calendar and double check that the events/event slug(s) are events and event, respectively. If they are and the issue persists try changing them to something else, saving, resaving Settings -> Permalinks and giving it another go. I can try to troubleshoot further from there.

MemberHey there Troy. While I believe this is doable I’m not well-versed enough in how; so, I’ve asked our dev Jonah (far more knowledgeable on such issues than myself) to take a look and respond when he hits the forums this morning. Stay tuned and thanks for your support so far.
May 14, 2012 at 7:34 am in reply to: Template file table-mini.php to show next/previous month using Ajax #19112Rob
MemberHi there Max. Thanks for reaching out. Are you saying you just want the next/previous links that appear within individual entries to behave the same way as the month selector dropdowns in the grid/calendar view (which when used don’t actually refresh the entire page)? I’ll try to help you out here but want to make sure I fully understand the issue first. Thanks!
Rob
MemberThat’s definitely on the radar, Lars. We launched Community as a fairly basic tool with an uncustomizable form just to get something out there, but we’ve got plans to allow exactly what you guys are mentioning for the release cycle over the coming months. Stay tuned and we’ll announce details on that as we solidify them internally.
Rob
MemberExcellent to hear! Welcome to the PRO fold, and thanks for the support 🙂 Looking forward to working with you on any questions/support issues you may have down the road.
