ParticipantHi Folks:
Thanks for your work on this great plugin: so far set – up has been pretty easy. the two things I’m not sure how to do are:
1. The Google map is above the actual post: is there a tutorial explaining how to drop it below the post? You can see what I mean here:
http://few.modernmediajapan.com/event/may-meeting-womenomics-with-kathy-matsui/
2. how do I change the title font in the calendar, and the little color background in the popup, and the category phrase in the single event page, based on the category? For example, here’s a non=FEW event: Archie’s dog training on 4.21: http://few.modernmediajapan.com/events/
rather than red, the title should be blue because the category is different from the FEW events, which are red by default (based on the child theme CSS, I’m guessing).sorry if this is unclear: please let me know if I need to add screenshots…
thanks,
best,

MemberHey Terri. Thanks for reaching out here – glad to hear you’ve had some success with the plugin so far. On these points:
1. We do indeed have an FAQ post that should accomplish what you’re going for, right here: https://theeventscalendar.com/faq/how-can-i-place-the-map-featured-image-below-the-event-description-instead-of-above/. That help? Let me know if you’re still stuck on this issue after giving it a go.
2. This should also be doable. If I understand the issue here, this post (https://theeventscalendar.com/coloring-your-category-events/) will be of value when it comes to color on a categorization basis. You could always also open up events.css, if you’re not finding color-settings controlled by your theme. If you have follow-up questions here, lay them on me and we’ll do what we can to assist. Cheers!

ParticipantRob, I followed the instructions provided in that link to move the map below the post on the single event page. I created a new folder, “events,” in the themes folder and copied single.php to that folder. I then edited the file to move the post portion to the top of the page. It did not work. I’ve just started the site and there isn’t a lot of events, but you can click on any in the right column to see what is going on: http://featherrivercountry.com/
My hope is to be able to put the actual post at the top of the page to better the SEO and make it more user friendly to guests. The map would be below that and the meta data would be at the bottom. I’m also not happy with how the meta data is aligned and will be asking about that next.
Hope you can help,
Jim McClain

MemberHey Jim. Thanks for reaching out here, and for the detailed explanation so far – I do understand the issue. We can try to assist here but would you mind sharing the specific code you’ve used in your single.php file? If you dropped it into pastie.org or a similar service and shared the link to the finished product here, I can get a dev to try and point you in the right direction. Thanks in advance!

ParticipantThanks for the reply, Rob. Here’s the link to my single.php source: http://pastie.org/3911217

MemberThanks Jim. This gives me what I need to get a dev from the team to take a look and try to advise you accordingly; I’ve passed this their way and should have a response for you very shortly. Thanks again for your the code and for your patience thus far.

ParticipantHi Jim,
For some reason your changes are not taking effect. I tested the code you put in single.php and it looks and works ok for me. So, in your main theme folder you created an ‘events’ folder and put the modified single.php file in there? Do you have a child theme installed? If so, you would want to create the ‘events’ folder in it… If you provide me FTP credentials I can login and take a look at what you’ve got on the server. You can email to jonah [at] tri [dot] be

ParticipantHey Jim, make sure that the ‘events’ folder is in your theme folder not the ‘themes’ folder for WordPress ๐
