MemberHi psasser,
Thanks for getting in touch. You may be able to do this with a little customizing. There is a thread going on this topic that I think will help get you pointed in the write direction:
https://tri.be/support/forums/topic/show-only-todays-events-2/I recommend that you follow the steps outlined there, and post back here if you run into trouble. Weโll do our best to help out.

MemberHi threecedars,
There isn’t really a way to do this, unless you use different categories to separate your events (like a category Main for the main calendar and a category Other for the other things). If you’re interested in that route you might read over this FAQ. Other than that there isn’t a real way to do this, although you might be able to figure something out if you’re up for some heavy customizing. That would be out of our scope of support to help with, however.
We don’t have a built in feature for password protecting a calendar, but I believe some users have done it with customization and/or a third party plugin. You might try searching the forums to see if someone else found a solution. Otherwise I suggest looking into some other plugins that might help with the password protecting part, and testing them with the free plugin, The Events Calendar, to see if they cooperate.
Does that answer your questions? I’m sorry I don’t have more optimistic news here.

MemberHi jeataylor,
Thanks for reporting this. We’ve had some other reports as well, and confirmed that this is an issue with Events Calendar PRO plus WordPress 3.6. We are looking into how we can fix it, so keep an eye out for updates. Thanks for your patience while we get this taken care of.

MemberHi Heinz,
To clarify, are you looking to revert to the 2.0.11 build or did you want some help customizing the calendar so the 3.x build looks more like the 2.x build? Because 3.0 is such a big step from 2.0.11, it often needs a bit of work to integrate with a theme or any existing customizations. We can probably help point you in the right direction.
For the issue with list view that you mentioned- have you tried using the WordPress excerpt field? Unless the theme conflicts in some way, whatever text you put in the excerpt field will show as the description in list view. Does that help with that issue?

MemberHi Joshua,
Thanks for getting in touch. Events Calendar PRO does not have any ticketing or registration capabilities baked in- those are only added with the WooTickets or Eventbrite add-ons. You might want to download the free core plugin, The Events Calendar, and explore that to see if you might want to build something onto it. You could also check out the documentation on all our plugins here. Hopefully those two sources will help you decide, but let me know and I can adjust my response as needed.
If you have any more questions or I can be of more help, please just let me know.

MemberHi Jenn,
Thanks for getting in touch and for your interest in our plugins.
โ โView Eventsโ view by category
You can view events by category via a custom menu, as described here. There is no built in dropdown to select category, however we are working on a plugin that will include filters for category, tags, and more. You can read more about that here.
User can submit events, which are held for moderation.
Our Community Events plugin does this. You can set whether submitted events are held for moderation or not, and make notifications. Users are able to edit their submitted events. You can make an option for visitors to register themselves on the site, so you don’t have to do it manually.
Users will have a monthly subscription to be able to post on the calendar.
At this time we do not have a way to charge users to submit events. It’s a popular request and something we might work on in the future, but at this time you would need to heavily customize the plugin yourself to get this working. I’m afraid I don’t know of any other options that do this.
Does that answer your questions? Let me know if there’s anything else I can do here.

MemberHi hcpbwa,
Thanks for getting in touch. Community Events does have a setting so you can control whether a submitted event is saved as a draft (awaiting approval from an admin) or goes live immediately. You can set an email so you get a notification whenever an event is submitted.
The shortcode for Community Events only works if you have the Default permalink structure enabled. So it would not work with your current one. However, you would still be able to link to the event submission form from any menu or other link, you just wouldn’t have the option of embedding it in a page with other content. Does that make sense?

Member@elmalak – there isn’t a simple way to pull the calendar to a specific page like you describe. One user posted a suggestion on how to do it here, so you might look into that. Otherwise I’m afraid you’d have to look into some heavy customizing to achieve this.
@cliffrobinson – if you want the calendar as the only page on your site and link to it, you might just link straight to the example.com/events url. That would take users directly to the calendar, and if there are no other links on the page that’s all they’d see. You can add a link back to your site from the calendar using the Add HTML Before or Add HTML After fields. You might check out the free plugin, since everything I’ve described above is possible with that. Then you can decide if you want to purchase PRO ๐I hope I’ve answered your questions. Let me know if I can be of further help.

MemberHi MTuttle,
Thanks for your interest! The way the sidebar works on wpshindig is one of the default configurations. You can set the calendar to show 0 events underneath, but in that case if a visitor clicks a date they will be taken to a list of those events in Day View. So the events of that day wouldn’t list underneath the widget, if that’s what you’re asking. You might be able to customize it so that it shows 0 until clicked on, but that would be out of our scope of support to help with.
There is currently no default way to make a category dropdown like you describe. It’s a popular request, and we are working on a Filters Bar plugin that would give allow visitors to filter events by all sorts of things including category and tag. Some folks have customized their calendars to have dropdowns, but again that would require a decent amount of work on your end- although we might be able to help point you in the right direction.
One way to achieve something similar is to make links in your menu (or sidebar, perhaps) to different categories of events. We have an FAQ about that here.
Does that answer your questions?

Andy, that picture is badass.
John- the best way to tell who is with Tribe is to look at the title (like my “Support Maven”). The regular support folks are labeled, but it’s true that when our devs step in it’s not always obvious. I’ll get after them about changing their titles.
