I’m looking at this because I need to allow guest to post events that I have to approve. Two questions:

Can guest posted events that need approval to publish?

What does this mean: “Use shortcode to place the form on any page (non-permalinks only)” ? I have my permalinks set on Day and name.

Hi hcpbwa,

Thanks for getting in touch. Community Events does have a setting so you can control whether a submitted event is saved as a draft (awaiting approval from an admin) or goes live immediately. You can set an email so you get a notification whenever an event is submitted.

The shortcode for Community Events only works if you have the Default permalink structure enabled. So it would not work with your current one. However, you would still be able to link to the event submission form from any menu or other link, you just wouldn’t have the option of embedding it in a page with other content. Does that make sense?
