MemberHi JW,
Thanks for getting in touch. At this time we do not have any importer features. However, we are working on building one that would work with either The Events Calendar or Events Calendar PRO. We don’t have a release date set for that, however. But it’s in progress 😀

MemberHi Farid,
If you use one of our ticketing plugins like Eventbrite Tickets or WooCommerce: Tickets then you can limit event registration to a certain number of people. The number of remaining available tickets would then display on that event page.

MemberThanks for your enthusiasm Elias! We do not yet have a release date but we are working hard on the plugin. You can check out a video of an early version here 😀

MemberHi Lynn,
Thanks for getting in touch.
If you want to avoid the WP login, you could look into using our Community Events add-on. Community Events allows users to submit events from the front end, and edit the events they’ve submitted. There are a number of user login options (ex. allow anonymous, allow anyone to register) but you could set it so only pre-made accounts could login and submit. That login looks something like this: http://d.pr/i/FB9A.
Otherwise, I think your best bet would be to look into options for changing the look of the WP login page. I’m not familiar with any, but I imagine there’s some sort of solution or customization available. Then you could make whatever level of user you wanted, and they would have limited admin access (and admin menu) based on what you set there.
Does that answer your question?

MemberHi Nathan,
Thanks for getting in touch. You would need WooTickets if you wanted to do any kind of event registration or ticket sales. However, you do not need Events Calendar PRO unless you want the PRO features like special widgets, recurring events, extra views, and support. Otherwise you can use WooTickets with the core free plugin, The Events Calendar.
When they select the date they can choose one of the predefined times and purchase a ticket.
One option for something like this would be to use Events Calendar PRO, which includes a Day View. Your users could click to see events for one day, divided by time. You could also do it with just The Events Calendar by listing the times on the Calendar View. However, please note that there is no feature that allows a user to choose an event on a specific day and then choose times from that page. Different times need different events on the backend, even if the event itself is identical. Does that makes sense?

MemberHi sbuntin,
Thanks for getting in touch.
1. Can you post the thread that had the gist? I’m wondering if maybe it’s just a bit out of date for the current version of Facebook Events.
2. The CSS styling for widgets is located in the following:
For Core: /wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/resources/tribe-events-full.css
For Pro: /wp-content/plugins/events-calendar-pro/resources/widget-calendar-full.css
It’s not recommended that you edit any plugin files directly, since updating the plugin will override your modifications. Instead, override the specific styles you need by putting the CSS in your theme’s stylesheet by giving your styles higher priority in the CSS Cascading Order. (Read more about that in this article).3. Are you referring to the Upcoming Events widget? Or something else? The widget does not use Featured Images by default, although you could probably do some customization to add them in.
Hopefully that answered your questions. Let me know if I can be of further help.

August 13, 2013 at 11:28 am in reply to: Events in reverse order after in list form after clicking ‘previous events’ #60238Leah
MemberHi snowdpd,
Thanks for your note. That is actually the intended behavior. All upcoming events go in chronological order, as you see in #2. But when you view Past Events (for example, when you click Previous Events from todays events, as in #3) they show in reverse chronological order- so showing the most recent one first, and back into the past. However, if you are viewing, say, October 2013 and clicked Previous Events, it would show you earlier events but in chronological order, since they are still in the future from today. Only past events show in reverse. This behavior is consistent in PRO as well.

MemberHi Karen,
Thanks for getting in touch. I know that The Events Calendar does have some conflict with Canvas, although we are working to improve this and a number of our customers have used it successfully. Are you comfortable doing a bit of customizing to make the two integrate? I found a solution to the same issue you’re having in this thread which can hopefully help. I recommend that you try that with The Events Calendar and if you can get it working, then you can consider WooTickets 🙂
Let me know if that doesn’t work or if I can do anything else for you here.

MemberHi waukeganmainstreet,
Thanks for your note. Faceboo returns the “Unsupported get request” error when you try to access age or country restricted content using the API, since you need to be logged into Facebook as a user in that location or age group in order to see the content. Judging from The Tanda Room’s cover photo, that page and it’s events would be restricted to 18 and over. Alcohol related pages and events (such as those at bars) would also get this error, which I believe explains the other two you listed. That isn’t something that we can do anything about, since it’s blocked via the Facebook API.

MemberHi Rick,
Thanks again for your patience here. I’ve had another of our developers take a look too. The picture bug should be fixed in the next plugin release, so I’ll need a little more patience from you there, but it’s coming 🙂
The second error seems to be an issue with that specific event. We got the same error when trying to import 152039734991944. Facebook will return that error when you try to access age or country restricted content using the API, since you need to be logged into Facebook as a user in that location or age group in order to see the content. Is there any chance that event or the Facebook Page is restricted to a specific age or location? That would explain the error you’re getting, and why you’re able to import other events without a problem.
Thanks,
LeahLeah
MemberHello folks,
Joanna, Brigt is correct that there is no built in solution for this, although a few folks have looked into solutions (for example, in the thread he linked).
The venue page can contain address, map, description, and a featured image- but that would depend on the theme and template you are using. Many themes do not support the description on that page, so it would be a question of finding a theme and style template that do show them. Does that help answer your question?

MemberHi Rob,
At this time, our calendar is not ready for mobile devices. You might be able to find a way to make it work, but that’s currently outside of our scope of support. We know it’s a very important feature, and it is one we’d like to add, but it’s just not possible at this time. I wish you the best of luck with customizing it to fit your needs. Thank you for your understanding.

MemberHi threecedars,
I’m not familiar with Simple Sidebars, but I’ll try to help out. What Page Template are you using? You can change that under Events –> Settings on the Display tab. You might try playing with those setting to see if you can get the Simple Sidebar to appear- that is, assuming the Simple Sidebar is a widget. Maybe you can tell me a little bit about how it works?
Also, you might try contacting the developer for Simple Sidebar. Often the plugin dev can shed some light on why it may or may not cooperate with The Events Calendar. Hopefully between the three of us we can find a solution for you 🙂

MemberHi Stephen,
Thanks for getting in touch. Unfortunately, Genesis is one of themes that The Events Calendar often conflicts with. There are some folks using it, but we definitely can’t guarantee compatibility there. You might try searching this forum for other folks using Genesis to see what their experiences are- although most people posting here are having problems, so it might be pessimistically skewed.
If there’s something specific we can help you out with, definitely let us know and we will do our best.
Cheers,
