    Hi Nathan,

We do offer an add-on that will bring in events from Facebook, but that is all that is available at the moment. We are working building a CSV importer, but it’s not quite ready yet.

Sorry I don’t have a better answer for you at this time.

    Hi there citydock,

That’s odd, and definitely not the way it is designed to work.

It looks like you’ve disabled the tribe bar, and when we tested that locally we couldn’t reproduce the problem. Does the same thing happen when you have the tribe bar enabled? And did you deactivate all the other plugins and revert to the default twenty-eleven theme?

If those steps clear it up, that would lead us to believe its either a conflict with another plugin or an issue with your customization. I can’t help you with your customization other than pointing you to our documentation (http://docs.tri.be/).

But if you have some specific questions where we can point you in the right direction, or if I’ve misunderstood the nature of the trouble, please let me know!

    Hi there Peter,

What you’re looking for is what we offer through the Community Events add-on (https://theeventscalendar.com/shop/wordpress-community-events/). It gives you the ability to allow people to add events to your calendar and you get to manage how that happens. You can require accounts or not, have the events post immediately or not, and generally control how much free reign that people have with your calendar.

If you have any other questions about it, please feel free to ask!

    Hello thoand,

Thanks for letting us know. Can I ask what country you are in? Which time zone do you have selected? Also, can you provide a link to a specific event that’s misbehaving? That will help us track it down.

    Hello Erin,

Yes, by adding the PRO plugin to Community Events people will be able to add recurring events to the calendar.

    Hi Adam,

That’s a good question, and I’m not sure I can give a definitive answer. The add-on does integrate with most WooCommerce payment gateways. And while we haven’t had any reports that this DOESNT work, we haven’t seen any saying it does either.

What I can do is, if you purchase our WooCommerce Tickets add-on and it doesn’t work out for you, we’ll refund your money. I’d actually be very curious to know if it works as it might be a solution for some other users.

Would you be willing to give it a try and let us know how it goes?

    Hi Eric,

I’m not sure I’m fully understanding your question. If you need two completely separate calendars on one website, that’s not possible with our plugin. If you need two separate calendar pages, with the events split between details/busy, that should be possible with some customization, but it’s not something that it does out of the box. You can take a look at our Themer’s Guide (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/) and see what might be involved.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask!

    Hi Nathan,

I’m glad you’re interested in our products, but we do not offer discounted prices for multiple products. We hope that you see enough value in them to understand why we charge what we consider to be a fair price.

But if you have any questions I can answer about them, please let me know.

    Hi yorkshiretots,

I’m glad you’re enjoying the Community Events add-on. We do not offer discounted prices for multiple products, but can I ask why you think you need to purchase PRO? We are currently beta testing a filter bar that could might work to delineate your events/classes. Check out this video preview and let me know what you think.

    Hi Dazed,

From what you’ve said, it seems that the Community Events add-on was designed for you. Restricting users in the dashboard, but letting them see their events is something that you can control. You can also decide to approve them before they go public.

When you talk about registering people, including selling tickets, you’ll need an additional add-on such as WooCommerce Tickets or Eventbrite Tickets. They’ll give you the ability to sell tickets and handle registration info. And they are set up to email the attendees when they purchase tickets, if that’s what you were referring to.

From what you’ve told me, I think our plugin with the add-ons would work for you. And to be clear, the add-ons work with the free The Events Calendar plugin. You do not need to purchase the PRO version to use the Community Events or ticketing plugins.

If you have any additional questions, please ask!

    Hi Neil,

The Events Calendar plugin is not currently set up to be a booking solution. There are parts of what you ask that it can do, but I think you’ll be better served by looking elsewhere for a plugin designed more specifically to suit your needs.

If you want to poke around a demo site to see for yourself, check out http://wpshindig.com/events/.

Sorry we can’t help you at the moment.

    Hi Justin,

Uff da, that’s a few questions. No worries, but I’ll take them one at a time. And thanks for numbering them!

    1. The plugin does not support a “central calendar” but there might be a way to do this by giving each event a category that would be the location. You could then filter by category to limit what was shown on a page. Currently, you can go into the code and set up a page for each category to have it display only that category, so you’d need a separate page for each. However, I should let you know that we are in beta testing for a filter bar that would allow you to display by category on only one page. With that in place you’d be able to have one calendar that folks could then select their chosen location to filter the events that are displayed. You can see a video preview at https://theeventscalendar.com/filter-bar-a-video-preview/.

    2. The Facebook importer can only import from public organizations or pages.

    3. All the events are brought into one calendar. It might be possible to separate them by categories, but that would be a manual process.

    4. Coloring events is possible by using an add-on to the plugin that is available on WordPress.org. It was built by a trusted user and many people have found it useful. Check it out at http://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar-category-colors/ and see if it does what you’re looking for.

    5. Our ticketing add-ons are designed to work with our calendar plugin. If you wanted to embed a form without using the calendar, you’d have to use either another plugin or work with the ticketing APIs directly.

    6. Thumbnails only appear when you hover over an event on the calendar. They don’t appear in the widget – there’s no room!

OK, so stepping back and looking at your big picture. You want to have a “central calendar” that has information from multiple locations. That’s possible. At the current time it would take a little effort, but the filter bar will soon make that fairly easy. And it would be possible to also color the events by location using the additional add-on.

What’s not possible is importing from closed Facebook pages and putting them in separate calendars, or even categories, unless you did that manually.

And it’s pretty much not possible to embed a registration form or use thumbnails the way you described.

So a mixed bag for answers for you, but I hope I’ve answered your questions. Please let me know if there’s anything else I can help you with.
