https://theeventscalendar.com/shop/wordpress-community-events/We are looking to create a community calendar where users pay a fee to post on our community calendar. (The fee part is handled off site).
Our biggest hurdle has been restricting the users in the dashboard area to only see and edit the events they have created. We want all visitors regardless of login to be able to see the calendar of events (from the front end), but only the users who create the event should be able to see it in the dashboard and be able to edit it.
We also need to be able to approve events which are created by the users before they are visible on the calendar, register attendees, sell tickets, collect for those tickets, and download attendee list information.
It would also be nice to be able to email all the attendees right from the plugin, but we can work around that.Every visitor to the site needs to be able to view the calendar regardless of being logged in.
Is this something your plugin can do?

From what you’ve said, it seems that the Community Events add-on was designed for you. Restricting users in the dashboard, but letting them see their events is something that you can control. You can also decide to approve them before they go public.
When you talk about registering people, including selling tickets, you’ll need an additional add-on such as WooCommerce Tickets or Eventbrite Tickets. They’ll give you the ability to sell tickets and handle registration info. And they are set up to email the attendees when they purchase tickets, if that’s what you were referring to.
From what you’ve told me, I think our plugin with the add-ons would work for you. And to be clear, the add-ons work with the free The Events Calendar plugin. You do not need to purchase the PRO version to use the Community Events or ticketing plugins.

Forgive me I’ve been going back and forth with community calendar plugins for weeks – just want to make sure I’m not confused, because this sounds way to simple lol Considering what I’ve been dealing with.Are you saying we need the Free version of The Events Calendar plugin and purchase the community events plugin and possibly the ticket plugins – that’s it?
What about Woo’s shopping cart? I assume I’ll need that right?

Your instincts serve you well. You will need the WooCommerce plugin, which is available free on the WordPress.org site (http://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce/). You’ll have to set up a payment gateway to use with it, but there both free and paid options there, with the most widely known being PayPal.
I hate to promise too much, but I think it is that simple, but there’s always the steps to set it up of course. 🙂

Guestlol Oh yes you’ve answer this question, but now I have 10,000 more! lol
I wonder if you have any kind of ‘test drive’ option.
We did this option with another software where they setup their software on their server along with all the plugins (their plugins) we’d need and let us play with it for a month to make sure it was what we needed. (I think we paid $35 for the test drive)If I can make this do what I need it to do, I can purchase it today. But I have to make sure it will jump through a few hoops and let my boss play with it first.

We don’t have a place where you can test drive the backend, but we do have a demo site (http://wpshindig.com/events/) where you can poke and prod the front end. And there are some screenshots of the backend on the product page (https://theeventscalendar.com/shop/wordpress-community-events/) which is the best I can offer you for that at the moment. I’m sorry we don’t have a full-blown test drive for you.

Well, I’m not sure how much more information I can give you. You’ve kind of seen it all at this point, short of jumping in and buying it. But if there’s something you think I can help with, I’ll do my best. Once you purchase the plugin though, you’ll want to ask your questions in the appropriate forum, most likely Community Events. And yes, it is best to start a new thread for each question you have, within reason. It’s often less confusing that way. Use your judgement.
