ParticipantHey Rodeored,
The answers to your questions are yes and yes. To allow users who are not admins to add events to a calendar you’ll want to take a look at our Community Events plugin. https://theeventscalendar.com/shop/wordpress-community-events/ There are lots of options to control what gets added, so you’ll likely find something that will work for your situation. As far as showing events that are near certain zip codes, you’ll want to check out the Map View of the Events Calendar PRO plugin. https://theeventscalendar.com/shop/wordpress-events-calendar-pro/ Folks can search for events near specific locations.
Is that what you were looking for? Can I answer anything else for you?

ParticipantHey athyg,
No, sorry to say, I don’t think we’re going to be the solution for what you are looking for. Our plugins are more for people, organizations, or places that host events and just want a calendar to display them. We’re not set up for individual users to have separate calendars, nor are we set up for reminder emails. I’m pretty sure you’ll have much better luck with a different plugin. But thanks for checking us out!

ParticipantHey Troy,
Just to be clear, if you’re having difficulties with the free version, you will likely continue to have difficulties with the PRO version. However, purchasing PRO will gain you access to our support forums. But we do also offer help over at WordPress.org as Casey had indicated. Did you ask your question over there? It is a much reduced level of support admittedly, but we make a weekly pass. And since you mentioned wanting to do the responsible thing, we do ask that our customers read the FAQ page, where our refund policy can be found, before they purchase.
But a quick check of your site makes me think that it would be possible to get it working. Just understand that we cannot build your site for you, but simply provide information and direction to help you sort it out. We’d be happy to have you as a customer if all that’s cool by you.

ParticipantHey websource,
Thank you so much for that screenshot. I see what you mean about the spaces and commas. Could you provide me a link to your site so I could have a look at what’s going on?

ParticipantHey imbera,
When I go to your site and click on the events that are listed (test event and Hack Con) everything seems to be working as expected. What am I missing? Also, what exactly do you mean by “nothing is showing up”? Does a blank page load? Does a page with headers and footer but no event information load? Help me understand what you’re seeing. Screenshots are often helpful.
Also, does deactivating other plugins or changing your theme back to the default Twenty Twelve theme make any difference? Let’s see if we can narrow down the cause.

ParticipantHey perthmorrismen,
Were you on this screen? https://cloudup.com/cQj3C7UzzeS Because that sounds weird. “Open” shouldn’t even be an option.
Can you verify that for me?

ParticipantHey perthmorrismen,
It does sound like there’s a conflict between your theme and the latest version of the plugin. So rolling back to a previous, working, version makes sense. Go to the Account Central item in the menu at the top of this page and select Downloads. Grab a copy of the last version that was working for you. You probably will want to grab the same version of both plugins (The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO). Then…
BACKUP YOUR SITE.
OK. With that done, you can deactivate the plugins. You may not need to delete them – just rename them to avoid confusion. Then upload / install / activate the older versions and see if everything’s back in working order.
I don’t know how comfortable you are with setting up testing/staging sites, but if you are this might be a good place for one just to see how it goes before doing it on your live site. I don’t foresee any problems, but there are a lot of variables involved.
Does that make sense? Can you give that a try?
Also, you may want to contact your theme developer for help in identifying the conflict. Eliminating it would be a nice solution too.

ParticipantHey rubinse,
I don’t think we’re going to be able to resolve this issue in that timeframe. The soonest it will likely be addressed is in our next maintenance release and I don’t have an ETA for that at the moment. I’m sorry for the inconvenience we’ve caused, but we do appreciate your patience and understanding in these matters.

ParticipantHey calebergh,
Can I ask you to start a separate thread with your issue? I’ve no way to view what’s going on at this point. I’d be happy to take a look with your assistance.

ParticipantHey robpoole,
Does is the information in our Themer’s Guide have what you are looking for then? https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/#customfiles You should be able to just add the text that you want into the template file.
Does that make sense?

ParticipantHey fred,
Somehow I missed your last message. I apologize for that. But it sounds like you’ve got a workaround in the meantime. If I hear of something better, I’ll let you know!

ParticipantHey kalgary1,
That message is there in an effort to set expectations of how the EDD ticketing works across recurring events. Basically, there is only one ticket that is created and shown regardless of which day you click on and choose to purchase it. So let’s say I have an event that recurs on March 4 and March 11. If I buy my ticket after clicking on the March 4 date it will be the same ticket it would be if I clicked on the March 11 date.
Does that make sense?

ParticipantHey originweb,
Before we go too far down this rabbit hole, have you checked out any extensions for EDD? Don’t they have a bundle option, or some such thing, that might be helpful here? The tickets are really tied to a particular event, so it would take some fancy footwork to put them on one page from our end.
Is there something over there that might be an easier solution to this situation?

ParticipantHey teskinner,
We don’t do customizations here, but if you wanted to tackle this yourself you can check out our Themer’s Guide (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/) and Documentation (http://docs.tri.be/) for the information you’d need. If that’s not something you want to do and you’re looking for some help, we might be able to point you toward some developers or other resources that could help you out.
