    πŸ™‚ sorry I couldn’t say anything more ingenious πŸ™‚

I know this is kind of going off topic, but I thought I’d share an article with you that really resonated with me. Lot’s of people disagree about the points made in it, but after having figured out the hard way, as mentioned above, that responsive design is a whole other beast that has to be dealt with in it’s own realm, I personally, really agreed with a lot of what this author was saying. http://managewp.com/5-reasons-why-responsive-design-is-not-worth-it

But no commenting here about it, we might cause a huge debate in a forum that’s supposed to be about calendars! πŸ™‚

Hello Jesse (or is it really Rambo? or some other action figure…?)

I think you’re right that there has to be an end time, unless it’s an all day event. However, if you check out the Themer’s guide to customizing the calendar, you may be able to get rid of the “end time” from showing up on the front end of your site: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/

Another idea I just thought of is, you could mark the event as an all day event, then add an additional field (you can find this under the WordPress Settings Menu > The Events Calendar and click on the tab that says “Additional Fields”), and call that “Start time” – so that can be where you fill in that info. It’s sort of a short-cut work around compromise, but it might work for you.

    I hope this helps!

    Hello Kristel!
“I’ve been banging my head against the desk for a couple of night now”

-I know that feeling πŸ™‚ Welcome to the club πŸ™‚

I’d love to help you if I can. First of all, can I ask if you’ve tried the settings under the WordPress “Settings” menu > The Events Calendar, and tried to reduce the number beside the phrase that says “Number of events to show per page in the loop”?

I know that is for a list event, but it might be the easiest solution right now.

If you are comfortable with some coding, you can try our Themer’s Guide to customizing the events calendar: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/ it talks about the Calendar grid view in there, but it’s not extensive. You’ll need to know some php, html and css to be able to change it.

Sorry if this is not helpful! Do let me know what other pointers I can give you!

Hello Donirey, have you set up your page template in The Events Calendar settings, under the WordPress “Settings” menu?
If you have, and are still getting this problem, you may want to check out our Themer’s Guide to Customizing the Events Calendar, which will have clues about how to set this up: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/

Do let me know if you find the answer.

Hello Diane, I’m wondering, does your theme have comments turned on for pages? If your theme has settings you can look there.

    Hello Jomar,

Are all your plugins and add-ons at their latest version? When you say you “patched ECP first” – did you do this in the child theme folder to ensure your changes wouldn’t be affected by future updates? For a good reference on how to customize the look of the calendar, you can check out our Themer’s guide, it has a lot of helpful info there: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/

Does this happen with the Twenty Eleven theme?

Also, for your sidebars issue, have you set up the template you want to use in the settings area?

If you are trying to customize sidebar widgets to show up on specific pages, I personally enjoy using widget logic. Though if you are into some heavy coding you could create sidebars specific to a page or page template file.

Let me know if this helps!

Hello Simon, are you running the latest version of all these plugins and add-ons? Does this happen on the latest version of the twenty eleven theme for you? I am running both as well and don’t have this problem myself. But if we know more details maybe we can help discover the issue together.

    Hello JT,
You are correct in that the two addresses you have given show up wrong – they did that for me too. But I tried another address in your area (36050 10th Street Nehalem, OR 97131) and it showed up correctly.

We are pretty sure this is a Google API error, which is something we don’t have control over. We also found another forum where people having been having the same problem: http://help.stagehq.com/discussions/problems/22-google-maps-pin-in-wrong-place

    Sorry about this!

Hello Lauren, there are responsive themes out there – I personally am a fan of Studiopress’s Genesis themes, and they have some blog-type responsive themes available.

However, getting the calendar to be responsive will require knowledge of how to do responsive design and CSS coding. It’s not all that easy, and not always solved with CSS alone – an entire design has to be thought of in the responsive mindset (I had to learn this the really hard way!). I would definitely test by starting with ems and percentages and don’t use exact heights and widths.

The Studiopress blog also has some good articles on how to go responsive.

All the responsive Genesis themes keep the responsive part of the css file at the very end so you can find it easily.

Hope this helps point you in the right direction!

Hi Andy. That sounds great – I’m not sure much about how to answer this myself, but I will try to get Jonah to help point you in the right direction.

Since I know you’re helping out here on the forums, if you need anything specific to the code email Rob directly and he can try to get it to you.

    Thanks!

    Hello Donirey

It’s really hard to say without some more specific details. However, have you checked out our Themer’s guide to customizing the Events Calendar?: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/

That might be a good starting point to make sure you’ve got everything set up correctly.

Also, have you set up the template in the settings area? There is a drop down list there where you can select a template to use.

If you can also be sure to link to your site, that would help us see what’s happening too.

    Thanks!

Hello Kyle, just wanted to let you know I’ve added this as a feature request for our development team to take a look at. No guarantees when it will be added, but it was a good suggestion, thank you for bringing it up!
