February 19, 2015 at 9:18 pm in reply to: How to use The Events Calendar Pro for recurring recorded events? #943860Josh
ParticipantHey Gabe,
You can follow our Themer’s Guide to modify the text for the “Previous Events” link that displays on the list view of our calendar. You’ll find the “nav.php” within the core plugin files at views > list > nav.php. You can then copy this file into your theme using the structure defined within the Themer’s Guide and modify the text for that link.
There are a couple of options for the multiple calendars that you are describing. You could link directly to the past events to mimic the feel of a separate calendar. You could then use the main “/events” link to be the calendar for the new, upcoming events.
You could also look into the Event Rocket plugin and some of the shortcodes available there to see if they help to get what you’re trying to accomplish. We are actually working on integrating these shortcodes into our core plugin so these will actually be available by default within the next update to our plugin (to be release soon).
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!
February 19, 2015 at 9:00 pm in reply to: I need to the "tribe-bar-collapse-toggle" to be collapsed on page load. #943859Josh
ParticipantHey,
I apologize. I thought you were referencing another filter section that is available with another add-on that we offer. It looks like you’re talking about the main tribe bar https://cloudup.com/cPEhUzSxMc9.
Looking at your site I’m noticing some strange behavior with js and this section on mobile. By default this should be collapsed as you would like. Looking at the markup on your site, the trigger is assumed to be closed however the content (the Events From and Search fields) has the “display:block” style on it rather than the “display:none” that it should based on the way the js is supposed to work for that section. You can see its broken due to the incorrect direction of the arrow when clicking (https://cloudup.com/cc-w7ergOFd).
As an initial step, have you tried following the Testing for Conflicts procedures to ensure this isn’t something being added/modified by your current theme or if there is a conflict with the theme or another plugin being used on the site?
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!
Josh
ParticipantHey,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
It’s definitely strange the the core Events Calendar plugin was missing from the site. Could someone with admin access have possibly deleted the plugin by accident which caused the initial issue?
Here are a couple of things to try:
- Access the site via FTP and delete the existing core plugin. Then re-download from the WordPress repository to ensure you’ve got a complete version of the plugin.
- You can do the same for the PRO plugins and re-download from your account dashboard here.
- Finally, try going to your settings > permalinks settings and resaving the permalinks for your site.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!
Josh
ParticipantHey Krystine,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
This is definitely a strange issue to be having. Hopefully we can get to the bottom of it quickly.
A couple of quick questions to help us get more information:
- Are you also using the latest version of our core Events Calendar plugin (v. 3.9.1). The core plugin and premium add-ons all have to be on the same version number to work properly together.
- Have you tried following our Testing for Conflicts procedures to ensure there isn’t a plugin or theme conflict that is causing the plugin not to work as desired?
Let me know if this helps or if you find anything when following the conflict procedures.
Thanks!
Josh
ParticipantHey Sharlene,

You can modify these links by filtering the “tribe_the_prev_event_link()” and “tribe_the_next_event_link()” filters. With these filters, the “$anchor” is what is controlling the text that the link is being applied to and displaying on the single events template.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!

This is definitely a good question! As long as the account created by the membership plugin is a WordPress user account (could be any role such as subscriber, author, editor, or even a custom role defined by that plugin) you can definitely limit access to the Community Events front-end submission to logged in users. Additionally, this wouldn’t force the user to log in twice either, the same access would be controlled by whether or not the user was a logged in WordPress user.
Let me know if this helps or if you have any further questions.
Thanks!
Josh

You can find information for updating translation files here.
Also, all of our translations are community driven. If you like, after updating the translation file you could submit it to our team to get it updated for other users using the plugin in your language.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!
February 18, 2015 at 6:17 pm in reply to: how to give someone access to only update the calendar #943480Josh
ParticipantHey Annette,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
We unfortunately don’t have any settings built-in to allow this type of control. However, you could use a plugin such as https://wordpress.org/plugins/capability-manager-enhanced/ to add additional roles and capabilities to your site. With this, you could possibly create a new role that has limited access to manage the “tribe_events” custom post type.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!
February 18, 2015 at 6:14 pm in reply to: When Filter Bar Activated, Fatal Error in Events Calendar PRO #943478Josh
ParticipantHey Wilson,
Thanks for your recent purchases and reaching out to us!
The “tribe_get_venue_label_plural” function is defined within our Core Events Calendar plugin that’s available within the WordPress repository. You’ll need this plugin activated on your site in addition to the other premium add-ons. If you do have this plugin activated, ensure that it is also updated to the latest version.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!

ParticipantHey!
Thanks for reaching out to us.
There is a setting within the Events Settings > filters tab within your WordPress dashboard that allows you to set the default status of the filter toggle. You can see that setting here at the bottom of that settings page (https://cloudup.com/cGsgf_UcqdG).

ParticipantHey!
Just wanted to follow up with you on this ticket. I reached out to one of our developers and they agreed that there definitely is some work that we could do to this process to make it more efficient.
In your comments you mention not having the primary shortcode utilized on the site. Out of curiosity, would you mind giving a little more detail about your setup and how you’re using the Community Events plugin on your site?
Thanks!
Josh

ParticipantHey,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
I apologize for the inconvenience of the issues you’re experiencing with our plugins. Hopefully we can get these issues sorted out quickly.
A couple of quick questions:
- Did you have multiple Tribe plugins active? If so, could you reactivate them and disable one by one to see if there was a specific add-on that triggered the issue?
- Out of curiosity, how many events do you have added to the site? Do you have any recurring events that are being used.
- Where is your site currently hosted?
Hopefully this will help us to narrow down exactly what is happening on your site.
Thanks!
