    Pardon the pun.
Customer contacted me today about our events list and events were missing. (we have two links to in on our front page) Going to the Dashboard I noticed that I did not have a link to update or view events. But on the plugin page the Events Calendar Pro plugin was visible and active. I also noticed that there was a possible update to the plugin. So I tried these things:

    Deactivated the plugin (tested)
    Reactivated the plugin (tested)
    Updated the plugin (tested)
Reinstall the basic version – (refused to let me install, was not listed in the plugin list) (tested)
Updated WordPress to the current version (tested)
Tried all of the things I did before (tested)
    started deactivating other plugins (tested)
Sent the ticket to you. (waited)

    Kind Regards,
    Erich

I made some progress. I changed the path name of the free version of The Event Calendar and reinstalled it. Now I can see the link inside the dashboard. All of my events are still listed. But on the webpage clicking the events link I only an empty page. BUT I see a list view of three events – and somehow I lost some of the formatting of the bottom of my page.

    Hey,

Thanks for reaching out to us!

It’s definitely strange the the core Events Calendar plugin was missing from the site. Could someone with admin access have possibly deleted the plugin by accident which caused the initial issue?

Here are a couple of things to try:

    • Access the site via FTP and delete the existing core plugin. Then re-download from the WordPress repository to ensure you’ve got a complete version of the plugin.
    • You can do the same for the PRO plugins and re-download from your account dashboard here.
    • Finally, try going to your settings > permalinks settings and resaving the permalinks for your site.

Let me know if this helps.

    Thanks!

Going to settings > permalinks settings and resaving the permalinks cured it! I would not have thought of that. Thanks, Erich

    Hey Erich,

No problem! Happy to be able to help 🙂

Re-saving permalinks is actually a solution for many different WordPress issues particularly when dealing with odd behavior with broken links or pages. It’s a great “solution” to have up your sleeve :).

I’ll go ahead and close this ticket. If you need anything else please don’t hesitate to open a new one.

    Thanks!
