ParticipantHi Geoff,
We will look into this in the future, thanks for your advise!
By the way, your suggested snippet caused some viewing issues on iPad, our designer has worked around it and it now looks OK. Feel free to see how she fixed this to further benefit your experience 🙂
Best regards,

November 4, 2016 at 2:16 am in reply to: "Reset filters" feature somewhat counterintuitive when using search field #1187607Barbara
ParticipantHi Geoff,
Will certainly do that!
I see there is a similar idea already, and I have upvoted it already. It already has 14 votes, so it seems logical that other users are experiencing this as well.I think combining the Filter Bar with the regular Search Bar in one seemless interface, would be the best way to approach this, as Thomas Davis has pointed out above.
I’ll try to work out a bit how I see this, and add it as a comment to the link above.

ParticipantHi Geoff,
Thanks for the reply, we will test that out!
Thanks about the website, though much of the designing credit goes to our recently acquired web designer, who has made a lot of (local) websites such as ours. I mainly do the functional part of running the website now, and am glad to have left the designing part in the skillful hands of our designer.
One more question that comes to mind: She hasn’t been able to find a way to differentiate between the several link colors used in the event page environment. So the “View All”-link, the links in the main text of the event AND the links in the Month view are, as far as she could see, changeable in just one way. Is there a way to differentiate between the hyperlink colors for these three situations? It would be very much appreciated if it would!
Thanks,

November 2, 2016 at 6:48 am in reply to: Permalink Not Editable for Recurring Events After Most Recent Update #1186304Barbara
ParticipantHi Geoff,
Thanks again, I’ve found a somewhat reasonable workaround, whenever the recurrence pattern isn’t too complex: Just remove the recurrence pattern, save the event, after which the permalink is editable again, then re-set the recurrence pattern.

ParticipantHi Cliff,
Thanks a lot! This really helped me out, and was indeed really easy to change.
I have one remaining question though: After changing the event-label, the translation for ‘recurring’ is no longer correct.
To clarify:
– Recurring Event > standard translation is “Terugkerend Evenement”
– After changing the “Evenement”-part to “Activiteit/Cursus” (activity/course), the word “Terugkerend” is no longer correct. It should be “Terugkerende“. Is there any way to change this via a snippet as well?Barbara
ParticipantHi Geoff,
Thanks for this, much appreciated!
I’ve heard that Geoff B. is working on more QA on the translations, which is very much needed as I can already see some strings wrongly translated in the actual Filter Bar plugin, while those strings are correctly translated on the Glotpress-pages for the FilterBar. For instance, one of the filters is “State/Province”, which should be translated to “Staat/provincie” in Dutch, but is showing up in its English form in the plugin.
Found some errors in the translation as well, now that I’m using Filter Bar. I have corrected those at once 🙂

ParticipantSee https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/bug-recurring-events-on-the-same-day-dont-have-seperate-pages/ as well, a thread I posted earlier this year. I know for sure that this feature worked before, with just one bug (the recurring event wouldn’t show up on the FIRST day of the total series, so the first Monday of the series would just contain 1 event. Each Monday after that though worked fine with both events listed. Also, both event links on the second day worked fine!

ParticipantHi George,
Thanks for your swift reply! However, I’m somewhat persisting as in other threads time after time it was reported by the support team that this indeed was supported and logged as a bug. For reference, see https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/recurrence-rules-feature/
Thanks,

ParticipantHi Cliff,
Some strings still have to be translated… But I can’t figure out where the “177 untranslated” strings come from.
Check it out yourself:
1. Head to http://translations.theeventscalendar.com
2. At the bottom, choose “Projects by language”
3. Choose Dutch
4. Look at the different projects below. Everything is translated, except for twelve strings… So why does it keep saying “177 untranslated” and ‘7 waiting’ in the table at the top of the Dutch language page?Barbara
Participant(Hmm… Can’t seem to edit my posts anymore, so here goes another reply)
Just to clarify: for NL translation files, I have mostly eradicated the formal way of addressing the plugin users (both admin and end-user) and changed it to the informal way, in response to the thread posted above.
Barbara
ParticipantHi Oliver,
I am translation editor for the Dutch translation files and have asked this before… As in NL we also have a formal and informal way to address people.
I have made this case before: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/how-formal-do-you-want-to-address-your-users-dutch-translations/#post-1054030
I most definitely would suggest going ‘informal’ as this is in line with many other plugins. However, in NL it’s more common to address other people informally rather than formally. Don’t know what the case is in Germany.
