ParticipantI am a happy user of the “Gather additional attendee details per attendee”-feature, however I do have one question. Before I post it at UserVoice, I was wondering if we are just doing something wrong… It feels very sluggish and it takes quite a lot of steps now, and it feels like it should be easier.
Currently, we approach new ticket sales as follows:
1) We receive the e-mail stating that there is a new ticket sold
2) We open WP Admin, move to WooCommerce > Orders
3) Open the relevant order by clicking on it
4) Reviewing the order, but needing the additional attendee information, so:
5) Click on the Article (see picture 1 below)
6) Scroll down, go to the ‘Event’ part, where it says “This is a ticket for event: <Event name>” (picture 2)
7) Click on it and the event itself opens
8) Scroll down to the Tickets-part, and click on Attendees (picture 3)
9) Review the additionally gathered attendee fields per attendeeWouldn’t it make much more sense, if possible, to show these details in the WooCommerce order screen? The SKU is already there!

MemberGood evening Hans and welcome back!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.I see what you mean. There are actually different ways to approach the above workflow.
Personally, I tend to use the following approach to get to the additional attendee info quicker
We are currently working on organizing and making several extensions available for our products that could help with such requests.
For example, I would recommend trying out https://theeventscalendar.com/content/uploads/2016/10/tribe-ext-tickets-email-options-0-3-0.zip
This adds a few options under Events -> Settings -> Tickets, including adding the said attendee info to WooCommerce emails.
Perhaps that could work for you or you could adapt that extension to your needs ?
Have a good week-end,
Geoff B.

ParticipantHi Geoff,
Thanks for working with me on this one. I have installed the extension, and am liking the fact that extra options exist, however the way it’s shown to the user in the ordering process on the website is not OK, it contains errors (showing non-logical information) and is far from polished-looking… But that surely will be the reason you’ve not officially published this extension yet 🙂
The issues I see after activating “WooCommerce Emails: Add Event Information“, and in total the reason I disabled this feature ASAP:
- Too much data is showing. This will overwhelm users and my colleagues from the foundation who have to work with this, as well. It will definitely be necessary to give us extra options in WHAT to send with the mail. It should be possible to ONLY send the custom attendee information entered during the process, and nothing more than usual!
- Recurrence description of the event is showing. This is far from logical for recurring events! I know that these are not officially supported via event tickets, but I know many of us have found ways to work around this and do actually appreciate the current functionality of tickets for recurring events.
For instance: We have a Chess Course of 16 chess lessons, but also offer a free chess lesson to see if it’s something for you. I’ve just ordered one of the free chess lessons, and noticed that the recurrence description (“16 lessons on Wednesday afternoon (…)”) will make no sense to the buyer, since I only bought the one free lesson. - The order confirmation screen after hitting “Confirm order” in the WooCommerce process, is also showing all the irrelevant data mentioned before, but also in a very stretched out way, which will surely disorient our customers, whenever buying more than one ticket (for more attendees)
Additionally, I tried using the “Tickets Email: CC Organizer“, to see if that would work as a sort of workaround: When we approve the order in WP-admin and would get the ticket mail right after it, it would also help improve the workflow.
However, this didn’t work since I thought that ‘Organizer’ meant the admin mailbox setup in WP-Admin. But after not receiving the CC, I realized you meant sending the CC to the Organizer of the specific event. Now, I could setup our regular admin mailbox for all organizers, but that would surely stab us in the back somewhere in the future. So, another option here would be if you added a “CC to specific mail address” or “CC to WP admin mail” option to the extension.
Some pictures to clarify
The WooCommerce order confirmation screen (but, the issues pointed out apply to the confirmation mails as well)

MemberGood evening Hans and thank your for your always awesome and constructive feedback.
You are correct, this extension is still in its infancy. It adds tons of cool features, but might require a bit of tweaking.
That being said, as you might know, we do not truly support tickets for recurring events yet.
As such, this plugin will likely not work as intended when used with recurring events. With that in mind, I could still ask if somebody can craft a snippet to remove the “recurring event info” from the returned info (at least for now). Would you be interested in exploring this.
As for the stretchy design, I believe that could be addressed with CSS.
The downside is that in order to provide CSS, I would need to see a ticket in action on your site 🙁So I guess that ideally, it would be awesome to be able to tweak this on a staging / testing copy of your website. Is that something that is feasible on your end ?
If not, I could always try to replicate your environment on my end.
As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
Could you please send me a copy of the latest version of your WordPress theme / child theme via a link to a .zip file link (stored Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ? I recommend a private reply for that purpose.
Please ensure you are using the latest files as found on your actual website.
This way I will get access to any updates or customizations you might have made.Best regards,
Geoff B.

ParticipantHi Geoff,
Thanks for your reply.
Been busy with work though, and we have a move planned to another hosting company, which eats most of my time now.
We will have to learn to live with the issue above for now, but I surely will investigate this issue further in the near future, and get back to you, if needed via a different thread.Much appreciated,
HansNovember 28, 2016 at 6:56 am #1198254Geoff B.
