MemberMy pleasure, Brian! I’m glad that helps. 🙂
Yes, I would recommend the same approach on a category basis as well.
Can I ask why the past archives display in ASC order by default?
Events are displayed in the order in which they occur (typically a Start Date). For example, in List View, the events at the top of list are the ones closest to the current date and move more toward the future as you browse down. Similarly, paging back to past events is like flipping backwards in time and events are ordered further the current date in the other direction. In other words, everything is in relation to the current date.
the past events display in DESC by default. Did something change with 3.8?
The Past Events view should be ascending by default. Are you using the “Default Event Template” under Events > Settings > Display? If not, can you change it and see if that makes a difference? If you already have it selected, will you please update to the latest version (3.8.1) and see if that helps? I see you’re noted that you’re currently using version 3.8 and I wonder if updating will resolve the issue.
Please give that a shot and let me know what you find.
Cheers!

MemberHi there, Brian! Thanks for getting in touch and welcome back to the forums. 🙂
Good question. You could create a page template that outputs past events in descending page. Here is a handy tutorial on how to use the tribe_get_posts() function. It’s a lot like the default WordPress get_posts() function.
That means you are able to set the “eventDisplay” to “past” and “order” to “DESC”. You may need to fiddle with it a little bit to meet your specific needs, but this should get you started in the right direction.
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂

MemberHi there, Gediminas!
Thanks for sharing a screenshot of the back end. I realize the issue is on the back end, but wanted to see if the front end was affected as well. No worries though, let’s focus on testing for conflicts.
Were you able to test for theme conflicts using the steps I provided? That would be helpful as well.
Cheers!

MemberHi there, Ewan! thanks for getting in touch and welcome back to the forums. 🙂
Good questions. Let’s see if we can tackle them one at a time.
is there any way of changing the look of the mini calendar for events that are on for a long time?
Unfortunately, there is no specific CSS in the mini calendar that targets multi-day events. You can target specific individual events, but not a type of event right out of the box.
Is there any way to mark the beginning and end of an event with dots leaving the ones in between clear?
As far as marking the start and end of an event with dots, you may need to customize the template itself (mini-calendar-widget.php) or here is a direct link to the documentation for the function that controls the day output in the mini calendar. This bit of customization is beyond what we can provide here in the forums, but this should at least get you started in the right direction for making that happen.
Sorry I’m unable to give you a concrete solutions, but does this help answer your questions? Please let me know. 🙂

MemberHi there, Gediminas! Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to the forums. Sorry you’re hitting some trouble, but let’s see if we can figure it out together. 🙂
If it’s possible, are you able to share a link to an event affected by the issue? You can send it in a private reply if you prefer, but it would be super helpful to see the issue in action.
Deactivated all other plugins? Yes
Thanks for trying to deactivate other plugins! Did deactivating them all at once have any effect on the issue?
Switched to a default theme? No (or unknown)
Could you try temporarily activating the default Twenty Thirteen theme, to see if the issue happens there as well? If disabling the theme fixes it, that’s good news! It means we have narrowed the issue down to a theme conflict and can work from there. It’s also worth following all the steps outlined here to test for conflicts.
And where can I upload more photos for the event, cause now I can select only one Featured Image to use it like main.
By default, events are currently set up to support one image upload, which is the Featured Image. If you would additional images, I would suggest checking out the default image gallery functionality on the WordPress editing screen. You can do this by clicking the “Add Media” button above the editor, then clicking the “Create Gallery” option. Alternatively, you can use a third-party plugin to add multiple image uploads.
Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know. 🙂

MemberHi there, Jahanzeb! Thanks for getting in touch.
Great question. The Events Calendar PRO and WooCommerce Tickets are separate plugins. However, you do not need both in order for the ticketing function to work.
Here are direct links to each plugin
So, the short answer to your question: yes, you only need WooCommerce Tickets to sell tickets. If you want additional functionality for your events calendar like recurring events and additional calendar views, then you’ll want to add PRO on top of that.
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂

MemberHi there, Justin! Thanks for getting in touch and sorry you’re running into some trouble here. Let’s see if we can figure it out together. 🙂
Are you running the latest version of all the plugins? I see version 3.8 referenced in the notes, but we do have a version 3.8.1 Â for the core plugin and PRO and 3.8.2 for Community Events. Are you able to update those to the latest versions if they aren’t already? I’d like to start there to see if that makes a difference.
If the issue still pops up, could you try temporarily activating the default Twenty Thirteen theme, to see if the issue happens there as well?
If disabling the theme fixes it, that’s good news! It means we have narrowed the issue down to a theme conflict.
If the issue is still there when using the default Twenty Thirteen theme, then we can try testing for conflicts with other installed plugins. Using the Twenty Thirteen, please try deactivating all of your plugins, except for the ones from Modern Tribe. Does that solve the problem? If so, reactivate the plugins one at a time until the issue pops back up, then tell me which one was causing the issue.
These steps are also outlined here if you want some more details on how to test for conflicts.
Give those steps a shot and let me know what you find.
Cheers!

MemberHi there, Colette! Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to the forums. 🙂
It sounds like you already have the Community Events submissions page set up, so great job on getting that part done.
Now it sounds like you want to add a link to that page to the top of your website. That’s a theme-related question rather than something the Community Events plugin is capable of handling, but let me see if I can help at least point you in the right direction.
You are using the WordPress Twenty Twelve theme, so if you log into WordPress, you can add pages to your site’s header by heading to the Appearance > Menus section from the main menu.
From there:
- Select the menu you wish to edit. You may need to create a menu if you don’t already have one.
- Click on the Links tab. Copy and paste the address of the Community Events submission page in the field and click the “Add to Menu” button.
- Click the “Save Menu” button.
That will add a link to your Community Events submission page to your site’s header. I created this short video to help walk you through it. If you need additional help, I would suggest contacting someone who can help you with site customizations like this. 🙂
I hope this helps!

MemberHi there, Shmuel! Thanks for following up.
That first snippet looks correct to me based on the examples provided in the ACF documentation.
That’s strange. I tried the steps provided from my first reply and everything seems to work. I was able to get your ACF example to work as well. Is it possible your template override is in the wrong location? That might be worth checking.
You could try editing email.php from the plugin directory to see if the changes take hold there. However, I would only use that as a testing method to see if your overrides are working and would revert the changes back.
Cheers!
