MemberAh, gotcha–thanks for clarifying!
You’re correct: there are no existing shortcodes for this, so you would need to roll with your own. There is a third-party plugin called Event Rocket (not supported by us) that creates calendar shortcodes, but not one for the use I think you’re looking for.
Cheers!

MemberHi there, Branson! Thanks for getting in touch. 🙂
Good question. I’m afraid shortcodes are not available in Community Events.
Users in Community Events are registered as users in WordPress, so you could theoretically use get_users() here and display the users you want by their assigned roles. We’re pretty limited as far as how much support we can provide for custom development like this, but we’d be happy to point you in the right direction, if we can.
Cheers!

MemberHi there, Clay! Thanks for getting in touch and for checking out the plugins. We’re glad you enjoyed The Events Calendar enough to pick up Community Events as well. 🙂
Community Events is actually not a widget, but a page on your site that includes a form where your visitors can submit events to add to your event calendar. You can find that page here on your site:Â http://icravecars.com/car-events-2/community/add
Unfortunately, the plugin does not include a widget that an be added to your site’s sidebar–that’s an interesting idea though! I’d encourage you to add that to our UserVoice page, which we monitor for new features to include in future releases. I could see how others might find that useful as well.
I’m sorry if there was any confusion the functionality of the Community Events add-on, but does this help clarify things and answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHi there, Kate! Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to the forums! We’re stoked you’re enjoying the plugin so far, but sorry to hear you’re hitting some trouble. Let’s see if we can figure it out together. 🙂
Interesting! This is definitely the expected behavior of the plugin and I wonder if there’s a theme conflict at play. Could you try temporarily activating the default Twenty Thirteen theme, to see if the issue happens there as well?
If disabling the theme fixes it, that’s good news! It means we have narrowed the issue down to a theme conflict.
If the issue is still there when using the default Twenty Thirteen theme, then we can try testing for conflicts with other installed plugins. Using the Twenty Thirteen, please try deactivating all of your plugins, except for the ones from Modern Tribe. Does that solve the problem? If so, reactivate the plugins one at a time until the issue pops back up, then tell me which one was causing the issue.
These steps are also outlined here if you want some more details on how to test for conflicts.
Give those steps a shot and let me know what you find. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberYou can drop that into your theme’s CSS file. This is often style.css but could vary, depending on your theme.

MemberHi there, Bob! Thanks for getting in touch and welcome back to the forums. 🙂
Good question. It looks like your theme CSS is overriding some of the widget’s CSS, creating that extra space. You can try adding this to your theme’s style.css file to narrow the margin:
.tribe-events-list-widget .duration{ margin-top: -5px; /** Or whatever value you want **/ }Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberThanks for following up, Samuel!
Interesting. The events under the calendar widget seem to correspond to the correct date when I try changing dates on your site. They load slowly, but they do load.
I’m checking at this URL:
http://www.rabbisilber.com/class-catalog/And comparing them to the full calendar here:
http://www.rabbisilber.com/scheduleWere you able to resolve the issue? Or perhaps try clearing your cache in the event that it needs to be cleaned out?
Cheers!

MemberGood question. Yes, you could either remove those modules using template overrides, or by using CSS. For example, something like this:
#tribe-community-events .events-community-post-title, #tribe-community-events .events-community-post-content { display: none; }I hope this helps!

MemberGreat, thanks for your cooperation and patience so far! I really appreciate you walking through these steps with me. 🙂
Can we try creating a new event with the default WordPress theme activated and all other plugins deactivated?
- <span style=”line-height: 13px;”>Activate the Twenty Twelve theme</span>
- Deactivate all other plugins, except for The Events Calendar and The Events Calendar PRO
- Create a new recurring event
- Use the same recurring pattern you shared with me in your screenshot. You can set the start date to today’s date (11/20), start time to 7pm and end time to 8pm.
- Double-check its the right date before saving.
Check the event on the front end of your site. Does the start time there match the start time when you go back to the editing screen on the back end of the site? How about when the customized templates are removed?
I’ve seen issues similar to this pop up in the past and each time they were the result of the theme or another plugin setting the timezone at the WordPress core level. WordPress sets this function to a UTC in wp-config.php and some theme/plugin developers will change this setting. Our plugin relies on it being UTC, so any changes at the core level would cause problems in the events calendar.
Let’s give those steps a try, then let me know what you find. If the issue continues, we’ll have to try a deeper testing for other conflicts.
Cheers!
