MemberOh, and sorry for not addressing the second part of your question!
You can change that with some Javascript, which you can either add using a plugin like this:
$('#tribe-bar-geoloc').attr('placeholder', 'New placeholder text');Cheers!

MemberHello Olivia,
So sorry for the search troubles here — let’s see if we can pin down the issue together. 🙂
First off, I do see you have another thread open with us where it was recommended that both The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO be updated to their latest versions. Have you done that yet? If so, has it made any difference?
If you’ve updated the plugins and still see the issue, it would be awesome if you could head to Events > Settings > Help, copy the updating System Information at the bottom of the screen and paste it all here as a private reply. That will help me look for any other red flags that might be causing the issue.
Thanks!

Looks like my last reply was marked as the correct answer. Sorry again for the bad news but please do let us know if any other questions pop up about the plugins and we’d be happy to help.

MemberHey Mark, I see my last reply was marked as the correct answer — thanks for following up and I’m glad this helped! Let us know if any other questions pop up about PRO before you purchase and we’d be happy to help. 🙂

MemberThanks for giving that a shot!
One more thing before we dig much deeper into this: Do you have any other pages or posts that use use the word Events in the title or slug?
Flushing permalinks can sometimes help, but redirect loops are often the result of things that affect the server. So, for example, if you have any other plugins installed that manage redirects or there have been changed made to the site’s htaccess file. My hunch is there is something to do with the dev site being installed on a subdirectory, but let’s see where we get first before we dig that deep.
Thanks!

MemberSweet, nice work!
I think the image is small because it is wrapped in that .one-third class. Looks like that’s a CSS class from the theme, but it’s basically telling the image to occupy no more than 33% of the total container in which it sits. I would suggest taking those CSS classes out from both the description and the image and adding CSS to the elements themselves to style them so they sit side-by-side. For example:
.tribe-events-list .tribe-events-event-image img { float: right; }We actually have a good tutorial on how to use DevTools to find the CSS classes you need to style that I’d suggest checking out.
Did you have any other questions about moving the ticket forms or which files to modify? Let me know and I’d be happy to help as best I can. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHi Katherine,
It looks like you’re running an older version of Events Calendar PRO with a new version of The Events Calendar. You will either need to upgrade PRO to 4.0.5 or downgrade The Events Calendar to 3.7 to get recurring events back up and running.
Cheers!

MemberHi Michelle and thanks for reaching out! I hope The Events Calendar is a good fit for your project. 🙂
Yes, filtering by Category and distance is totally possible with the Filter Bar add-on. It includes several filters in there from categories and distance to tags and days of the week and lots of things in between.
Would that work for you? Please let me know and I’d be happy to answer any other questions you have as best I can!

MemberHello @Macdara,
Sorry for the trouble here with redirects! Let’s see if we can track this one down together.
First off, will you please try flushing your permalinks? You can do that by heading to Settings > Permalinks, selecting the Post Name option and saving the settings. That resolves many of the redirect issues I’ve seen in the past and hopefully will work here as well.
Let’s start there and see what we find.
Thanks!

MemberHi Barry — nice to see you again and sorry for the trouble here with the update.
Thanks for reinstalling the plugins. That’s something I would have likely advised at some point so knowing that you’ve given that a shot helps.
I see the following errors when viewing the console on the site:
Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token <
tribe-events-bar.min.js:1 Uncaught TypeError: c(…).placeholder is not a functionI imagine there could be one of two things causing this:
- A conflict with the theme’s Javascript
- Running un-synced versions of the calendar plugins
Will you please try two things for me?
First, try deactivating the theme and activating a default WordPress one (like Twenty Sixteen) instead. Do you notice a difference?
Second, will you please head to Events > Settings > Help, copy the System Information at the bottom of the screen, and paste it here for me as a private reply? That will help me review your settings and look for clues in there.
Thanks so much!

MemberHey Chris, thanks for getting in touch!
The Events Calendar doesn’t auto-delete past events right out of the box, but you might want to consider using a plugin like Post Expirator to do the lifting. I just tried it out and it seems to do the trick of deleting an event when scheduled to delete at the time the event ends.
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!
GeoffJanuary 29, 2016 at 10:51 am in reply to: Embedding Calendar in an existing page (in MAP view) #1064592Geoff
MemberHello Kristen!
Good question, but I’m afraid there is no way to embed the Map View with a shortcode. The shortcodes are currently limited to embedding the widgets included with Events Calendar PRO.
Sorry for the bad news, but does this help answer your question? Let me know if you have any other questions and I’d be happy to help as best I can!
Thanks,
