MemberHey Nathan,
Good question! I believe it will be a combination of the two: you will likely need to edit the PHP file itself and use CSS to position and style things as needed. For example, moving the meta code in the PHP template to be right after the content description, then using CSS to float each block of content next to one another.
Does this help? Let me know. 🙂

MemberHey Aleix,
Oh wow, I see what you mean!
The mobile breakpoint snippet seems to be working for me on a test site. I know you mentioned the calendar working on a default theme, but does the snippet work on a default theme as well — or does it have no effect there either?
Thanks!

MemberHey there, Alicia!
First off, thanks for getting in touch! I’m really happy to see you’re checking out The Events Calendar and I hope it’s a great fit for your site. 🙂
Events Calendar PRO will not read existing post categories. Unfortunately, those would need to be re-created as Event Categories if you want them to be the same between Posts and Events.
However, do note that Tags can be used instead and are shared between Posts and Events. In other words, if you use the tag “Party” on a post, it will also be made available to tag an event. That might be one approach to consider.
And, yes, you can schedule events to post at a specific date and time as you can a default Post. You would do that in the Publish settings for the event (screenshot).
Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know.
Cheers!

MemberHowdy Markus and thanks for reaching out! I’m stoked to hear you’re checking out The Events Calendar and looking to go multisite. 🙂
You can get any license level to start and upgrade as you need to. Upgrading a license in the middle of a cycle will extend your license from the day you upgrade and reset the year from there. And the cost to upgrade is simply the price difference between licenses, so you won’t incur any additional charges beyond that.
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know.
Cheers!

MemberHi Ketan,
The most “instant” update available in iCal Importer is the option to auto-run an import every hour. It’s not real-time, but very close.

MemberHi Tony and welcome back!
Good question. No plans to bring Housekeeper back at this point, but there are good plugins that will add auto-expiration features to events that I’d suggest checking out. I’ve tested this one and it seems to do the trick quite well.
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂

MemberHello @achildgrows1, hope you had a great weekend!
I was just checking out the site (it’s looking great, by the way!) and it looks like events are showing up on 1/31 (screenshot). Did you happen to resolve the issue on your own, or am I perhaps looking in the wrong place and you can help point me in the right direction?
Thanks!

MemberHello Nathan and welcome to the forums!
You will want to edit the single-event.php template to move the meta information around. Our themer’s guide dives into template overrides and I’d suggest checking it out, but it basically boils down to this:
- Make a copy of the template. It’s located in /wp-contnet/plugins/the-events-calendar/src/views/single-event.php
- Make a new folder in your theme directory called tribe-events
- Drop the copied single-event.php file in that folder
Now that the single-event.php file is in your theme, you can modify it to suit your needs. In this case, you’ll want to move the “Events Meta” code where you want it to appear in the template. From there, I imagine it will take some custom CSS to position and style things exactly the way you want them to display.
Does this help you get started? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHey Thomas and thanks for reaching out!
Give this a try in your theme’s style.css file or using a plugin like Simple Custom CSS:
.tribe-events-calendar thead th { background-color: #000; /* or whatever color you'd like */ }Will that work for you? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHey CDC!
It appears there are additional conflicts with how the submenu is written and how it interacts with other third-party scripts that make it very tough for us to troubleshoot on our end. I’ve been wrestling with this one and have even run it by others on the team here but we all agree this one is best suited for the theme developer to check out.
My apologies — I hate the idea of passing you back and forth but do think it will help zero in on the issue and get it resolved. If you’d like, I’d be happy to keep this thread open in the meantime and answer any questions that the theme developer might have while digging into this further.
Thanks so much for sticking with me on this!
Geoff
