Hello,
Last year we migrated an entire website into WordPress. All of the website’s content is separated by several blog post categories.
Will the Events Calendar PRO Widget pull content from the site blog post categories that are already published? I’m aware the widget has it’s own events categories system but we need something that will pull from the hundreds of posts that already created and published.
Will the widget allow us to select and identify which existing post categories to display in the calendar? Also, does the calendar allow you to publish future events in advance? For example, today is February 1, 2016 but I want to post a date for an event in March 12, 2016. The goal is for that post to show up on the Calendar for March 12, 2016 but still publish today on the Feb.1st.We want to make sure the widget will perform the way we need it to before purchasing a plan. Thank you for help and information.

First off, thanks for getting in touch! I’m really happy to see you’re checking out The Events Calendar and I hope it’s a great fit for your site. 🙂
Events Calendar PRO will not read existing post categories. Unfortunately, those would need to be re-created as Event Categories if you want them to be the same between Posts and Events.
However, do note that Tags can be used instead and are shared between Posts and Events. In other words, if you use the tag “Party” on a post, it will also be made available to tag an event. That might be one approach to consider.
And, yes, you can schedule events to post at a specific date and time as you can a default Post. You would do that in the Publish settings for the event (screenshot).
